SERVICE: We enjoyed our trip. Our ride took place in Dec for the holidays/bday which can be a gamble with the weather, but it worked itself out. We had to reschedule due to high winds and our Gondolier Mark offered a discount of services which was very appreciative. Customer service is everything to us and he was on it. During the ride he didn't talk too much but chimed in here and there which for us was engaging. I'm sure you could ride "privately" with your party, but we're people folk. He too is ready for the photos as it's part of the experience. We laughed with him about it. The trip is an hour long and you ride in one big circle. People in their boats, etc. wave while passing and we were told it's tradition to kiss under the bridge. We asked about ages and learned children are permitted on the ride. WELL: Yes. We booked a gondola ride with this company for our 37th anniversary. The weather was a bit cloudy so we tried for a dusk ride in order catch any sort of sunset that we could. While that didn't happen, our gondolier made sure that we didn't return until the lights to the harbor area were being alit. While we waited, we were treated to a bit of a spontaneous music performance. The evening lights made the return all that much more spectacular. Such a fun evening being guided around the beautiful Seabridge waterways by Gondola Paradiso and our fabulous Gondolier Mark. It was the perfect evening to take a nice boat ride through the waterways and look at all of the beautiful homes, the calm waters, green parks, gorgeous sunset and numerous boats that were all through Seabridge. (Oxnard/Channel Islands) Our Gondolier Mark was so nice and had so much information to share with us about the properties in this area. We had such lovely time on the Gondola for my bachelorette party this weekend. It was a relaxing time on the water and our Gondolier (Josh I believe) was so kind and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful day and Josh set the ambiance with beautiful Italian music and even sang for us. It was such a lovely afternoon out on the water. I had been curious for a long time - having been a customer of the gondola rides in both Long Beach and Newport Beach. It was a long drive to either location from my home on the far west side of L.A., and even longer when we moved to Ventura. I'm really glad I booked this trip with Mark. He not only is a great gondolier, the boat is clean, well-maintained and in much better condition than the gondolas in Long Beach or Newport. We brought a small Prosecco to enjoy during our ride, and availed ourselves of the "kissing bridges". We couldn't have picked a more gorgeous place or time. I have to say that I really, REALLY like Gondola Paradiso more than the Newport or Long Beach ones. The location is excellent; the weather is almost always great and the gondolier (Mark) is outstanding. Be sure to bring a sweater or jacket - even when it's 100º in the Valley. There's almost always a cool breeze blowing in off the ocean. Oh, and don't forget to tip your gondolier. He provided us a blanket for when it got chilly. Our 50 minute ride was really romantic. It felt like we were in a romantic movie. Wonderful experience! I surprised my wife and two other couples with this gondola ride and dinner afterwards. It was an amazing time, I brought cheese & crackers, drinks & desserts, and music too. Mark, our gondolier, was very intuitive, our group was very talkative, Mark sensed that and gave us a very peaceful ride, answering only when requested. I had been waiting for the right occasion to invite two other coupled to join us for the ride and it was a surprise, mission accomplished. Mark was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the history and how the channel came about, it was very education and interesting, the only negative is that, I had expected the authentic Venice gondola (the red one) which is what is pictured in all the adds and it what I had seen others sail with, naturally thought that is what we were getting, but when we got there, we were told the red one is under maintenance and it will not hold 6 people anyway, which I am not certain of, we ended up in a custom made gondola which did not look like a gondola, more like a boat, partly my fault, I just assumed. read more
