Classic Yacht Adventures - Chao Bella - Boat Charters Near Me

Classic is the name of the game for Capt. Dan. Classic as in old school and classy. Dan is an expert boatsman, former surfer, ordained minister, and all around great guy. He will regale you with stories while you cruise out. We had the perfect experience. Despite announced high swells and small boat warning, we had unusually calm seas and sunny skies. Which was magical for our memorial. read more

We had an amazing time with Capt. Dan in Oxnard and out on the ocean. He entertained us with tales of his ocean adventures and his life on land. The boat is lovely and our group of 5 had an amazing time out on the water. We were very fortunate and got to cruise with a pod of dolphins for 45 minutes. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I will definitely be seeking out the Captain next time I'm in town. read more

Spent a day of my sister's bachelorette with Dan. The sis wants to check off all the national park so we wanted to make it special by renting a private tour instead of going with island packers. So when I found Dan I was really ecstatic and as soon as I spoke to him on the phone I was convinced this was the trip for us. Dan went into detail on what the trip would entail and I would tell he genuinely loved being out in the ocean. He was all booked but I kept checking in and some how he cleared up his schedule for us. Thanks for that!! Leading up to the trip, he kept me posted on the weather as we were expecting rain during that day. He kept me posted almost everyday 1 week out for our trip! We met him on the 26th and was very down to earth. We were a group of 7 girls and we went out to see the Ancarpa arch, on our way there we saw some dolphins. Then we headed out to Santa Cruz. We had about 2 hours to spend in the island. Some of us snorkeled and the rest hiked. Dan, thank you so much for a memorable day, just wish the weather was warmer but overall it was a fun trip. Tips: Stay outside on the way out, we were less nauseous than people that stayed inside! Take bonine or Dramamine for motion sickness I would suggest leaving early to get more time in the island. Thank you again Dan, I loved the gift you had for us in the end, it was very thoughtful. Hopefully we will cross paths again. read more

What a terrific time for my family on this absolutely charming yacht! Capt. Dan is a consummate host and seasoned captain. We were relaxed and felt completely safe the entire afternoon of our memorable trip. We cruised down the 2 mile long harbor while Capt. Dan shared entertaining stories and insights along the way and we enjoyed the clam chowder we picked up on the way in. An incoming storm front prevented us from going beyond the break. And upon Capt. Dan's advice limited this outing to the harbor. We all appreciated his concern for safety and look forward to returning for longer charters. Next time, we hope to make it out to Channel Islands! This is a unique experience and we are grateful we had the opportunity to enjoy this classic yacht adventure! read more

Captain Dan took my family out for my mom's 70th birthday and he took great care of us. He even bought some small decorations for her celebration which was a really nice gesture. He was communicative, responsive, and his boat was charming. Will go with him again on future trips. read more

My girlfriend and I went on a sunset cruise with Captain Dan yesterday and we both agree that it was a memory that will last a lifetime. The sunset was incredible and we were fortunate to have very favorable weather and sea conditions. A huge pod of dolphins swam right around the boat on the way out. What a nice surprise! Captain Dan was extremely knowledgable, personable, and made safety a number one priority. All I can say is that it left me wanting more. I wish we had more time out on the water with Captain Dan. Thank you so much for the great trip! I hope to be back again for a full day! read more

We had the most amazing experience with Captain Dan. He's a terrific Captain, knowledgeable and entertaining. He explained what was happening every step of the way. We spent the morning going out to sea to scatter my beloved husband's ashes. Little did we expect the escort we received--many, many dolphins surrounded the yacht and played along on each side and in back of us. It was a spectacular send off! My friends and I will treasure this memory forever. read more

Had an amazing day with Capt Dan today. Booking this trip about 10 days ago. Easy communication - confirmation form et al. Stayed in close contact leading up to today about the weather as it wasn't safe to go out the day prior due to winds and waves. Luckily for us - today was much better. We venture around the harbor and around GINA the old oil rig. Was a wonderful day and would happily book with him again. Thank you! Mike read more

Captain Dan took us out on his boat for a weekend trip to channel islands. Hands down it was one of the most amazing adventure weekends our group of friends has ever had. We explored beautiful remote parts of the Islands (circumnavigated Santa Cruz Island), fished, saw dolphins, seals, kayaked, cruised around in the dinghy and so much more. And even more important was how professional, friendly and amazing Dan was with our group. He shared so many great stories and we were honored to be able to do a trip with him. Dan accomodated us and made everyone feel at home while we were at sea. The boat is extremely well taken care of and has all of the stops. Dan is an experienced Captain with a wealth of ocean knowledge and he really knows how to handle a boat! Comfortable for sleeping and a great kitchen and layout. Dan and the Ciao Bella are the way to go for a cruise or a weekend adventure and I 100% recommend booking a trip with him for any occasion. Thank you again Captain Dan for an unforgettable and CLASSIC YACHT ADVENTURE!!!!!! read more

We celebrated two birthdays last weekend aboard Ciao Bella with Captain Dan. It was AMAZING. We were out in Pacific Ocean, Anacapa Island and Santa Cruz Island for more than 6+ hours watching dolphins, seals, and hiking. Captain Dan was wonderful. We were in constant touch before and after booking. He provided lot of suggestions based on my requirements and also followed up regularly. He had decorated yacht for both the birthday persons. He explained days itinerary, showed around Ciao Bella and always eager to share his experience. This was one of the best trip and hoping that one day we will be back aboard Ciao Bella with Captain Dan read more

What a great time we had with Captain Dan on our sunset cruise thru the harbor and out to see the sunset. Rhett boat was comfortable and we enjoyed bringing our own wine and cheese. Dan's corny jokes (sometimes.. Lol) and winning personality really made for a memorable evening. He made sure everyone was comfortable and really went above and beyond to make it an evening we'll never forget. I highly recommend chartering a cruise with Captain Dan. read more

THE BEST! Kept having to reschedule because the ocean conditions weren't cooperating, but we really appreciated Captain Dan's dedication to safety and ensuring we had a memorable and positive experience. He was very apologetic but we didn't mind postponing at all and understand how Mother Nature works. When we finally were able to get out on the water the conditions were perfect. It was glorious and such a special way to spend one of our last days before moving out of state. Dan's love of the ocean was infectious and he was totally accommodating and friendly and made us feel at home on his beloved Ciao Bella. We saw hundreds and hundreds of dolphins that swam alongside the boat and I was squealing alongside my kids. We also saw three whales and had great luck fishing. The kids loved driving the boat! Captain Dan made us feel totally comfortable and we were in very safe and capable hands. It couldn't have been a more perfect day! Thanks Cpt Dan! We will always remember our trip with you. read more
