Updating my review. We were greeted with a smile and welcome as soon as we entered. The lady working the register was Zarena by the name on my receipt. There was only two people inside when we ordered. There were lots of people that came in while we waited for our food and picked up to go orders. First strike, we placed our order and was told they were out of crayfish for the grilled cheese, they were out of lamb and also out of water. We could see two bottled water in the cooler, but didnt push the issue when we were told they were out. I asked for ice tap water and was told they didn't have that. No biggie. We were going to eat in since it started raining but decided to do it take out, since we couldnt drink anything. Strike 2: the wait!!! The first time we came here was in 2024 when they were newly opened and remembered a wait then, but chalked it up to being a new establishment. We ordered at 7:11 and didnt get our order until 8:03. Strike 2 1/2 We realized at 741 that we were still waiting and inquired about hold time and was told 5-10 more minutes. Well it took more like another 20-25. At 8pm, my family decided if our order wasnt next, we would ask for a refund. Luckily, for them, we were next. Now the food: we ordered a perch dinner, a chicken rasta pasta and a Sweet chili Thai parm shrimp dish with fries. The rasta pasta was supposed to be spicy and was not at all. It was decent and rated a 7/10. The perch dinner and Thai dinner were both rated an 8/10 by my family. Be warned: Prices are increasing 4/13 per the signage. This is due to rising prices for food. I am uncertain if we will return, but if we do we will call ahead or order on an off day. I get that Saturdays are busy, but this area has too many restaurants for us to wait almost 1 hour for a fairly simple order. We did receive an apology that they were out of items we attempted to order. I feel like because they have a dining room, they should have drinks on hand. I dont know if they were short staffed in the kitchen or if they got slammed with online orders or a combination of the two. Now this is some good chicken. Born and raised in Cleveland, I moved to Medina Ohio. There is no soul in Medina. No good chicken spots. While visiting the east side, I stopped at hooked at the behest of some nurses. I ordered a five piece chicken wings with barbecue sauce, macaroni and cheese and one piece of catfish. The catfish was great, excellently seasoned. The chicken wings were amazing. Even that little tiny piece of the wing was good and I nibbled the crunchiness off of that. The wings were on point, flavor, on point. Macaroni and cheese was just okay. If in the area, go ahead stop by. You won't be disappointed. Four stars easy. Let me edit, I took a second to take more than a nibble off of the catfish and Let me tell you that catfish is the truth, breaded and seasoned perfectly. I might add an extra star if I can. This is something that is not directly related to the restaurant. However it contributes to the overall dining/pickup experience, and that is the parking lot! The lot is not only well maintained, but the parking lines that facilitate parking etiquette are completely missing. Therefore everyone is parking as to how they see fit, diagonal, too much distance or too little distance between vehicles. It takes away from the experience. read more

One of my clients referred this place and raved about the flavor, so I gave it a chance. I called in so that I wouldn't have to wait and the food was ready when I arrived. The young lady cashing us out was very friendly and professional. Although there were people in the ample dining area, they were waiting on their orders and not eating in. It looks clean, they have a community area where people can share their business cards and flyers (I always love seeing this in businesses) upon entering. My first time here I ordered the catfish, it tasted great, but the coatings was falling off it so that kinda was a bummer. Second time are the wings you see pictured, no complaints at all. Third time we ordered while next door at the laundromat. I found out that I could've been earning points on a loyalty card this whole time, but we were given an extra stamp/punch for the courtesy. We came back to pick up and had the wrong sauce on our chicken. They replaced it with the correct sauce and we were smashing about 10-12 minutes later. They are still working out the kinks, but I would most definitely give them a visit. It's a good price for the quality, quantity and taste. I tried Get Hooked on Emery Rd in Warrensville Heights on 10/22/25 between noon and 1:00 pm and had a very disappointing experience. I called ahead and ordered a Catfish Dinner with broccoli and a Catfish Po'Boy. When I arrived, my order was already packed and ready. The cashier asked me directly for a tip, which I found a bit uncomfortable, but I still tipped $3. When I got back home (after driving 25-30 minutes one way), I discovered that the Catfish Po'Boy I paid for was missing. I immediately called and spoke to "Ri B" (the name on the receipt). She initially said she would refund me, but another staff member got on the phone, accused me of lying, and refused to take responsibility. I was also charged $33.50, which doesn't match the menu prices for what i received. I asked for the manager or owner's name but was refused that information. I later tried to contact the owner online with no response. I'm sharing this so the owner is aware of how poorly customers are being treated. Now I am not sure about y'all, but I have never met a man with my name so I'm unsure why they would give my food away especially when the food was for pick-up..? We placed an order through DoorDash for pickup. We live 13 minutes away and when we got there they told us some guy came and picked up our order. So you did not check to make sure it was the right person there is literally a barcode that says you have to show it to pick up the order. They did not offer to remake the order or help in any way. We tried Hooked for the first time Saturday evening around 7pm. Ordered 2 shrimp dinners, 1 shrimp po boy, 1 rasta pasta. -The pasta was great! -the po boy was good, but a few things would make it great ... cutting each piece of shrimp in half will make it easier to eat, and the lettuce on the bottom is completely wilted -shrimp dinners were sub par by far. One of the dinners had overcooked shrimp that was super dry. Both dinners had undercooked doughy hush puppies, undercooked fries that are served up under the shrimp in a box with a plastic lid so getting very soggy. A bigger box would be ideal so everything can have its own space And only six pieces of shrimp? Definitely not worth $23..., in my opinion. Finally, I made it to Hooked in Warrensville Heights, OH. I have seen several pictures of delicious dishes such as the Lamb Chops and the pasta dinner on social media posts. The food looks and smells amazing. However, I ordered the Catfish dinner, that came with 2 fillets, fries and a side of cole slaw for $16.00. I enjoyed the fish. The flavor was perfect. The seasoning was not salty, at least today during the lunch rush on a Saturday. The rest of the meal could have been better. The Cole slaw was dry and missing the dressing. Like for real, for real it was bland and dry. The fries may have been sitting under a light for too long long. The fries were not hot or warm. However, the fish and fries were served at two temperatures. The fish was hot but I can only wonder if the fish was still frozen while cooked. Lastly, the hush puppies were mushy. I smashed one and it is still smushed. I'm used to hush puppies being crispy on the outside and seasoned. Yes, I am going to return for another try. Hooked just opened their doors and I'm here to support. However, the food is expensive and as a newbie, I think they should have lowered their prices instead of shaking us down for mediocre. Nice size. Clean. Nice greeting. I am giving 4 stars and not 5 because of the wait. Understandably everything is cooked to order. However, since it was 6:45 pm and they were closing at 7 we ordered fried pickles and the beignets figuring it would take 15 mins it took 30 mins. Good afternoon. I ordered a perch dinner today with two extra pieces from hooked restaurant in warrensville heights $32 for the dinner $38.40 with tip unfortunately. The fish was old didn't find that out until after I got home and after we ate two pieces I called back to let them know that the fish was old /oily tasting and not what perch is supposed to taste like. I told her that I was not going to bring it back today however I would bring it back tomorrow minus the two pieces, she proceeds to say oh you ate two pieces I'm like how else could I tell that it was bad unless I ate it well how come you just didn't taste it and bring it back at that point I asked for a manager I thought she put me on hold instead I was hung up on I called back she told me she couldn't hear me say anything at any rate I asked for a manager who she said was not there chef Stevie. Today, l decided to order a meal. I arrived at 2:00pm and placed my order. After l paid for my meal, l was advised the wait time would be 45 minutes.
