I have had nothing but trouble with adt. The latest was my smoke detectors needed new batteries. Talked to 5 representatives with no resolution. I had virtual appointment set for Thursday morning only to be awoken at 3:30 with panel going off. I talked to virtual representative for 1 hour 17 minutes and was told the detectors needed to be replaced every 5 years at a cost of $308.46. After I paid I looked at the detector that I've had for 4 years and it states on the back replace by 10/2034. Another lie from adt. I have spent hours on ladders fixing the system while adt was on the phone. It is a neighborhood joke how often I was out there fixing their equipment. Shop around before buying into ADT . I'm going to try to get an explanation on the replacement dates on the detectors but I honestly believe that I will not get a honest answer

It has been impossible to cancel, finally I got them to agree to close my account, they quoted me my final payment which I confirmed included any cancellation fees (for a system that doesn't work) and made my payment of $550. Just got another bill for $225! I called and they said that department that took my payment isn't authorized to tell me that was the final amount and refused to pull the call or honor their own company's commitment. FRAUDULENT!!

My storage location is a 5 minute drive from their store in Biddeford. It took the employee 5-10 minutes to remove the old lock. The service fee was $125 and I think it to be excessive. Comparable fees quoted online in Biddeford range $50-$95. I'm pleased with the service and the result but think the charge was excessive.
