So first off, in my opinion, there's nothing better than a neighborhood bar with cold beer and a…read moregood burger. We met our kids in Dayton, which is about a halfway point for us each, for lunch this Saturday. We'd been wanting a good burger so I started looking for options and when I saw this place it was a no brainer. Slyders did not disappoint! The burgers are done on a flat top that's probably been in their kitchen since they opened in 1948. Talk about flavor!! The burger is good quality, tender, and full of great beef flavor, cranked out on that flat top to a crispy brown exterior. Great fresh tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles and cheese make this burger oh so good!! Add a basket of perfectly fried HUGE onion rings and a cold beer, there's nothing better!! Top top it off the service was incredible. We had 3 or 4 guys stopping by checking on drinks, napkins, ect... The energy in this bar was comfortable and you felt like you were a "regular" even if you'd never stepped in the door before in your life. With big bear hugs and handshakes we left full of great food and a warm soul. Slyders is going on my "ride for a burger" list this summer on the bikes. It'll be well worth 2hr ride to get there!! .

A unique local spot. Helpful and friendly staff. I was there around 7:00pm it was full of patrons…read more Noise is above average loud. Jukebox music, normal conversation din, plus the happy drunk at the bar shouting his words. The food was above average. The "medium-well" burger contained quality meat but was dry. Next time I would add cheese. Burger toppings were fresh - lettuce, onion, pickles. The fries were good but not great. Overall four stars.

A little local gem hidden off the main thoroughfare. We saw the good reviews and decided to give it…read morea try. The building itself is an interesting shape and stone- so it is easy to spot. There is a small parking lot plus street parking available. One interesting thing is the numerous old photos of Hamilton hanging on the walls. There is even one of the building back in the day! We ordered an Anna's pretzel with beer cheese and horse cheese as an appetizer. It was one of the best soft pretzels I've eaten! Large, warm and the 2 dipping sauces made a great accompaniment. We ordered a Reuben and fish and chips also. They were yummy as well. The bar tender/waitress was very attentive and pleasant. The prices are very moderate. I noticed they even offered lunch specials. I definitely plan on visiting again.

Yes, it's a beautiful, sturdy building that you just know is reeking of historical significance…read more Parking is as easy as everyone is saying -- there always seems to be room on the street. The waitress seemed helpful enough, though, as there's weren't many customers this early in the evening, she was too busy watching the Winter Olympics to give me more than the cursory attention needed to bring my food out and take my payment. But the food definitely made up for that. This is made-from-scratch creativity at its finest. I got the Reuben's Stones, expecting a fried fritter, but got a delicate, made-like-my-mamma-would pastry instead. It was soft and doughy inside, and jam-packed with corned beef. The fish in the fish and chips was huge, hot, and right out of the fryer. And the fries had to be made from scratch, because I've never seen that particular shape come out of a freezer bag: they looked cut naturally from the round, and were also hot and tasty. And the warm butter cake was as amazing as everyone said. Actually it's this small squat cake that looks like a muffin -- until you cut into it and realize it's soaked in syrup inside & absolutely delicious. The only disappointment were the green beans --- they were overcooked and mushy -- though maybe that's how English green beans are authentically cooked. Overall, though, my visit was a real adventure filled with authentic and delicious surprises. I will definitely be back to try more.
