It gave me nostalgia from when I was a kid. It was a pastime that my mom and sister used to do on the weekends for fun, we would go to the library and check out 2 to 3 books and read them and then go back 2 weeks later and do it all over again. I'm so grateful that my daughter has inherited the reading gene and appreciates a good book. The library has a fairly nice selection, considering it is not a super big library, but they are definitely in the 21st century because whatever books they don't have available on the shelf, you can get online or read it in eBook form. I thought that was really cool.We will definitely come back again to check out more books. It was a little challenging to get a library card because you have to do a lot, in my opinion to prove that you live in Burleson, especially because, there is Tarrant and Johnson counties that go through the city. But it all worked itself out and we are officially library cardholders.

Huge points up for the plants, the ample parking, the decorative atmosphere, and the sparkling level of cleanliness. You wouldn't expect what's inside the library if you saw it only from the outside. Don't judge a library by its cover. At the same time, some points down for the hassle in getting connected to the WiFi, as well as the searching required to find outlets. There are a wide range of seats available, from personal desks, to shared tables, to eclectic chairs that will fit your fancy. Definitely a library worth checking out!

Unless, the employees are mean, all libraries get five stars. So, with that understanding, on to the review! The building, inside and out, is nice, but it is definitely small, when compared to most other area library at least. The downside to the size of this library is that it is hard to find a spot to actually read because this is a rather popular library. Realistically though, you can just take your books home, if there really is not a place to sit and read. But, if you're looking to study, you may want to call ahead to see if they have some kind of study space available or to at least get a feeling for how busy they are that day. And, speaking of studying, this library also has computer stations available. You have to sign up, but it's a pretty quick process. And, along with the size comes a reduced selection as the book selection is not extensive. But, you do not have to worry about wasting your time looking for a particular book because they have an online catalog. However, they do have a rather extensive collection of DVDs, with a few Blu-Rays thrown in as well. Again, if you're looking for something specific, you should call ahead or check out their online catalog. The children's section is separated from the rest of the library, and it even has its own separate computer stations available, just for the kids. I appreciate this type of firewall because it keeps the kids out of my area. And, the staff there is always watching, so you can feel safe taking your kids here. As for the staff, they are warm and courteous. If you need help, they will do whatever they can to make sure you get what you need. And, of course, as with any library, they have community boards (near the front doors) that advertise groups, story times, community events, and the like. It's a quick way to get the rundown on what's going on in our community, and some of the groups are interesting. All in all, I recommend this library if you're in the area. Of course, if you're not, check out YOUR local library. I'm sure it's cool too.

But as soon as my curious 2yo wandered into the computer lab/stem room & found a bin of legos that she touched for a total of maybe 8 seconds lol, the bald headed man marched in there & started watching us, making me feel as if I'd let my toddler freaking steal something?! I even said oh sorry she's just a curious toddler, we're just wandering. He didn't say a word & continued to be rude & correct anything she touched. Just wanted to put my experience out here before I submit my formal complaint. I'll stick to Saginaw library-- so kid friendly & the staff is always so friendly. Recycle Books Records is a true Texas gem!…read more This amazing used bookstore and record store is located in the heart of Denton, TX inside a 100+-year-old opera house. They have been independently and family-owned for over 40 years, and they are a must-stop for all book and music lovers out there. This store is HUGE with over half-a-million books, movies, music and memorabilia. However, I think what makes them extra special is the curated selection of Horror and Thriller books, including some very unique collectibles. I am more into contemporary, so keep in mind those books are located on the top floor of their second building. Their children's book section was also incredible but frankly I didn't have the patience to go through them. This store can be a little overwhelming so definitely take a breath and ask for help if you can't find the genre you are looking for.

That said, I REALLY enjoy the Roanoke Library. My wife and I moved to Roanoke in July 2011, and I kind of stumbled across this little gem. Here's a summary: - It's small. Cozy, but not too small - every time I go, there's only one or two patrons in the whole place. - Free Wifi. A lot quieter to study/work here than Starbucks. - They carry fairly new items (in my category of interests, anyway). I managed to secure the Steve Jobs biography on hold, within a few weeks of publication. Beats spending the money on Kindle. - A part of the TexShare program, which allows me to borrow books from other libraries after being a local cardholder for 6 months. - Good movie selection, and blu-rays. Current stuff, stuff I would think would be "too new" for the library. Also, the week-long policy for movies is a plus. - Decent online holding and renewal system. I can check out a book for 2 weeks, but renew it up to 5 times online. Wow! That's cool. All in all, this childhood place of memory has re-entered my list of favorite places - good resources, friendly staff, and a quiet environment.

The management of the library system seems to be doing some great new things. Each time I go in, I am able to find new books that are current and are of interest to me. There are a lot of computer terminals for those individuals looking to gain access to the internet. The new library also has some great work stations with power at each station in the center of the table. This is a very comfortable library now and a strong library system for such a small little community.
