I've become much more of a library regular since having a kiddo, and now I find myself here even…read moremore without my kid... haha! I work from home so anyplace with a cozy seat and free wifi is a good place for me. This library is multi-level with plenty of seating. Computers, printers, resources, tons of community programs and classes. They provide shelter in extreme weather. They provide food for hungry families. I recently learned they have a retro technology lab, so I'm interested in digitizing some old home videos. Being able to do something like that for free is an amazing privilege. Libraries are so important in our communities. Education, support, shelter, resources for all, and especially for those who need it. Support your local library!

This place is Diamond in the ruff. The environment is very calm and clean, making it great to…read morerecharge, read its wide selection of books, or to get some work done. They also have a wide assortment of graphic novels, audiobooks, movies, and shows. There is also spaces to reserve for groups or meetings. The staff are helpful and patient which makes visits here even better. Definitely a great place to spend some time in Arlington. The only downside that I have is the water fountain on the first floor isn't working properly if you are looking for a quick refreshment but overall it was a nice experience

Oh, the hours I have spent in this library. Some good, some bad…read more For students, this is the primary space to find a guaranteed quiet space for work, to print using your MavID, where to go to utilize the FabLab, or to get Einstein Bagels. The basement is a more open student area, with vending machines. Additionally, if you walk down there and immediately look to your left, you should see exercise bikes and treadmills fitted with surfaces to read or study while working out. There are only a couple, so they are first come, first serve. The 6th floor is a big open space with very little furniture, and offices. Great view from the window, however. The other floors are a mix of "quiet floors" and study floors, and the legend on each floor should tell you. The majority of the students hang on floor 2, which is not a quiet floor, but offers the freedom to talk, numerous desktop computers that can be utilized logging in with your MyMav credentials and a tutoring station. Additionally, if you are looking for a small convenience store, this is your spot. Nearly every floor has study rooms that require a reservation. This is the biggest downside - you have to scan the QR code, or type the website, and when you do, you will notice that most rooms are reserved for months out. If you want to reserve a room (particularly one for midterms or finals) I suggest exploring your options by the 3rd week of the semester. The library is 24 hours (with a few exceptions), but if you are a guest (not a student, or a student that does not have a UTA ID) then you will be asked to leave at midnight when UTA Police come around for ID check. From what I have been told, this is due to a previous issue with homeless people sleeping in the library. If you wish to take advantage of the library, but you are not a student, a drivers license will grant you access at the front desk, and the second floor has a guest computer that you can login to. If you can, check out the trees directly in front of the library during the holiday season - the trees are decorated with UTA blue and orange lights. Happy studying!

The advisors are hardly ever available, and if…read moreyou are an online student, it's SUPER hard to get them to respond to emails, or for them to see you, because I mean, how would they see you if they don't even respond to the emails? Then they talk about "same day appointments," you show up, as early as you physically can because (what if you work or have children, HENSE US BEING ON LINE) anyways, you get there and they turn you around saying there's "no more slots available," like what!? By the time you get any help, or any answers, most of the slots for the classes are TAKEN so you have to either enroll for some BS class, or take a class you didn't even want to, in that particular semester. It's almost like they put the online students on the back burner, and IT SUCKS!!!!!! Like they make it so inconvenient & it makes me soooo angry!!!! There's literally NO HELP!!! Idk about other departments, but the SOCIAL WORK DEPARTMENT/ADVISORS, omg, NO!!!!! It would be better if they had MORE THAN ONE freaking advisor per group of last names!!! One advisor per one group of last names is absurd. It slows things down, it makes people frustrated, and discouraged!!!!!!!!!!!!! Idk, I'm kind of regretting starting the social work program here at this school. I am so perplexed, angry, upset, overwhelmed, and this is the end/beginning of EVERY SINGLE SEMESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God forbid you're a working adult with real life responsibilities who just so happens to be an online student and you need to speak with someone. They also don't respond to emails either. There is no customer service whatsoever for online students. Please reconsider going somewhere else. Once you're enrolled, you're dead to them.

The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

If you want a quick-and-dirty commercial fix, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a European time machine that will take a beloved book back to what it was or even better, this is the spot for you. We came to the Book Doctor with a small devotional, quite honestly a lost cause with no cover or binding and several severely damaged pages. We were hoping for some sort of cover and binding to preserve it since it is of great sentimental value and over 90 years old. What we received back was a gorgeous gem, a true made-to-order family heirloom. Not only was the cover beautiful, the binding is a work of art and pages we thought were lost forever were delicately and expertly restored. We stand amazed. Again, if you expect to do it on the cheap and have it by next week, forget it. But if the book in question matters to you and you budget for time and money, plan in advance, make an appointment with one of their experts, then expect the best. These are artisans who will pour all their skill and experience into your valued piece and devote entire days solely to its restoration.
