I believe my business sets itself apart from other businesses because they are missing the secret ingredient that I use in every cupcake—which is love. I have had a passion for baking for a long time; nobody loves this line of work more than me. I sleep it and breathe it almost every single day. Baking late at night until my body feels tired is a great feeling to me because it makes me think I’m not just doing it for myself—I’m doing it for everybody that supports me and everybody that believes in what I do and the vision that I have. This business became a revenge story for me because I used to work at Sprinkles Cupcakes as a froster. During that time, I was terminated for no good reason at all. The manager kept avoiding my questions and wouldn’t answer my texts or phone calls. It got to a point where the district manager had to step in and talk to me because the manager wouldn’t speak to me about it. After that, I said to myself, “You know what? I’m better than Sprinkles Cupcakes—and mine are going to be cheaper and have more flavor than theirs.” And that’s how HoodCakes was born. Every cupcake is cream-filled, topped with even more delicious frosting, and finished with cupcake toppers. Nobody in the city of Bradenton can come close, nor can they compete with my cupcakes—and that’s a promise I intend to keep. I even went to my first event and was the first one to sell out. At that point, I knew God was telling me to keep going with this, and that I would do great.

History

Established in 2024.

The history of the business started off as a revenge story. I used to work at sprinkles cupcakes as a froster for maybe like 3 or 4 weeks and in that time they terminated me for no good reason. So I said to myself I’m better than sprinkles cupcakes and my cupcakes gonna be more flavorful and more cheaper than theirs and that’s when HoodCakes was born and it’s been a working progress ever since then.

Meet the Business Owner: Chris F.

I have been baking since I was 14 always baking muffins to take to my family gathering and every time I would do that there always be no muffins left that gave me a pride and a love for baking. I don’t believe nobody has the competitive drive or that determination that I do when it comes to working or when it comes to baking. I’m a nerd at heart so experiencing bullying my whole life was just a everyday thing and during that time to make me feel better I would just watch baking videos or tutorials and it would calm me down I also would look at different recipes and do the recipes in my head first before I actually do it I don’t know if anybody else does it but that’s how I know if I can do a recipe or not by training my brain and doing the recipe in my head before I actually do it. I believe baking is easy you just gotta take your time the end result is what is most important when it comes to baking the look on the customer face when they take their first bite is my favorite.

Never tasted a sweet potato cheesecake so delectable in my life. Also got the banana pudding cupcakes and almost ate half a dozen before sharing with my family. He made everything in time for Father's Day and I ordered only day before. Incredible care. The deserts are truly made with a passion for the craft of baking. You can tell in every bite. I most definitely will be going through the whole menu for birthdays, parties, and gatherings because you can't get that homemade quality anywhere else on this west coast of Florida. Chris the cook definitely needs his own bakery soon. Someone left a nasty review about his character and I think it's fake because me and Chris were talking for a while his personality is nothing but high positivity and passion for what he does.
