I was pleasantly surprised to see how vibrant and full the bouquet was, even though I just got the standard size. I received a confirmation email, as well as a day-of email when my order was ready to be picked up. As of May 2025, Honolulu Florist is in the "Harvest Mattress" space that shows on Google Maps' Street View. The front door is a bit hidden but it's on the parking lot side. I was shocked when my mother sent me the photo of the flowers she had received for Mother's Day. Doesn't look anything like the photo on the website. OK understandable I know there's substitutions to whatever value it is, but that does not look a value to what I ordered at all. Not sure what's going on with all the babies breath sticking up all over the place, and how unfortunate the flower placements are. The cohesiveness, quality, and quantity is lacking big time. I ordered an arrangement for my wife for Valentine's Day to be delivered on Feb 13. Close enough to Valentine's Day and multiple days that she could enjoy them at work with her friends. I try to select something unique and different for each occasion, and the florist I've been using didn't have anything that wowed me. I liked what I saw online with Honolulu Florist compared to the others so I chose the Love Struck deluxe bouquet at $109 + $15 delivery + $5.89 tax = $130.88. This was not the cheap bouquet of the three options but the middle option. $130 is significant especially for something that isn't solely roses but the red tones throughout made me think this would be a good representation of the "love" theme for Valentine's Day. Of all flowers I've had delivered to my wife over the years, this received the least praise and wow. Typically she will go on about how beautiful they are, how her co-workers stop and admire them, etc. I got a thank you and that was it. Despite her appreciation I could see there was something wrong even though I wasn't at her job when they were delivered. She sent me a pic showing how the lillies were wilted and dying, not fresh and vibrant for a flower that was just delivered costing $130. My wife normally brings her flowers home on Friday to enjoy over the weekend...she left them at work. Understanding that a florist has the right to exchange flowers as needed based on availability, I would have expected a similar match. In viewing the website image, the expected bouquet is filled with red which is what caught my eye- there are several red and dark pink roses, among other flowers. That is not what was in the delivered arrangement of white, purple, and soft pink. In fact there aren't many roses at all. I called the florist on Feb 14 to advise of the issue, received their voice mail, left a message of the situation with my phone number, and haven't received a response. Today is Feb 16. I understand they're busy but customer service and quality control should be priorities as well. These special days where we try to do something nice for our loved ones at a significant cost should be treated with the same love and respect. I will not be using Honolulu Florist in the future, nor will I recommend them. read more

So we came home from our vacation to LA from our anniversary to be greeted with a delivery the next morning, a lovely peace lily from Honolulu Florist from my mother. Of course I do my research for new plants coming into my home, unfortunately I found out this plant is considered moderately toxic to dog. My dog Lola is a cattle dog and kind of a grazer. So I called up the Honolulu Florist and let them know of our situation, the lady I spoke to was very friendly and receptive to my concerns and she said of current inventory she had a nice rubber tree plant in a cool bamboo box. Right up my alley, mild if eaten accidentally and I had one before and they are easy to care for and pretty resilient. So I head over afterwork. A far more convenient location in nearby kakaako but it did plot weird on google maps. The store front is more on Kamani street, like a block off ward and parallel to ward. It's the green mall directly right to the new Shepard Fairey (OBEY) mural. Great shop, lots of lovely arrangements and a bu ch being prepared in back. I met the lady I spoke to on the phone (didn't catch her name) super friendly and understanding. Told me how to treat and care for my new plant. I mean I didn't know there was a florist so close and convenient, I'm used to trekking to Chinatown with the hassle of traffic. My mom on the east coast ordered it, she doesn't even have a smart phone so I'm positive online ordering is easy. Definitely will come back for my plant and flower needs. read more

5 stars for an amazing same day flower delivery service for my best friend's baby boy at the hospital. Originally, I read the reviews but what really drawn me to Honolulu Florist was their great selection of "new baby" flowers with cute assorted vases. I went through so many companies online and nothing compared to what I could find on the Honolulu Florist website. There was a particular baby vase I was drawn to. A grey/white polka dotted elephant with an assortment of blue and white flowers, and a "Hello Baby" heart sign on the trunk; which fits the celebration. I ordered online with the premium size flower arrangement. Also, to confirm my order and requests; I made sure to call Honolulu Florist directly as soon as they opened at 8am. I spoke with the owner, Mady; who was really nice on the phone. She had confirmed that she have received my order and will make sure the arrangements are exactly what I had ordered and to deliver it around 1pm with two great choices of balloons that would be fitting for a baby boy theme. Today, my friend called and thanked me for the beautiful flower arrangements; which she took a photo of what it looks when delivered. Honolulu florist really hooked me up with an amazing arrangement just two days before Valentine's Day and I couldn't be more grateful. I did my order through their website and since I had such a last minute order I had to do a lot of substitutions but they still looked so beautiful. Along with flower substitutions instead of a teddy bear, lindor chocolate was added to the delivery and I gotta say that's pretty awesome. I had the flowers delivered to a payroll office in downtown so I was worried they may get lost in the mess of buildings there but they arrived right as scheduled. I got a small bouquet of roses and lilies plus the add on of a bear (switched t chocolate as mentioned before) along with the valentines delivery charge of 25 dollars so everything plus tax came out to $125.00. And for the quality and delivery service that is a very fair price in my opinion. Overall amazing people, I cannot imagine the amount of deliveries they had today but they pulled through with some killer arrangements. Not sure why people bash this family owned local florist, I have always been very happy with their arrangements and customer service. A few things perhaps people need to keep in perspective is that complaining about getting flowers you order through teleflora or some other site where you try to get the cheapest arrangement possible does not guarantee you will get an $100 looking bouquet when you only payed $25. Teleflora takes their profit and the local florist has to try to get as close to the requested arrangement that they can with what they have. Also a local family run florist has to deal with delivery and blaming the company for what the drivers do with the flowers is completely asinine. There is nothing productive about a yelp review when it has no perspective. Stop bashing a family business and stop using yelp as your personal Facebook page. Nobody wants to hear about your relationship or about how you can't keep flowers alive. News flash. Once the flowers are delivered to you. They are yours. I called first thing in the morning to order a tropical arrangement for a special person who was spending the week working in Hawaii. Tammy, who I spoke to on the phone, was very helpful. The arrangement I wanted from their website was unavailable so she said they could put something together for me. Tammy went above and beyond trying to complete my order. I had a handwritten note I wanted to include in the delivery. I'm in California so it's not like I can drive there and and hand it to them directly. Eventually my note( either through fax or email scan) made it. Tammy called me immediately and said they had received it and the driver was taking it right out to the delivery site. The delivery site is one of my companies stores on Hawaii. I called the store and said there was a delivery coming for Miss Special and asked if he would make sure she got it. She did receive it in the middle of her training class just as I had wanted. My plan worked out well, I looked great to Miss Special, and I'm as happy as can be. Cue victory dance and the "I am such a great daughter" feelings. Then cue Daddy C.'s email of: "Oh btw, Mama C. is taking off on Friday so maybe you should have it delivered on Thursday instead". whomp. whomp. whomp. By the time I read that email, the florist was closed. No problem, I left a message. It freaked me out that I called an 800 number instead of an 808 number. The next morning, I waited for their call. I understand I'm a few hours ahead so I waited a couple of hours after they opened in Hawaii to place the call again to make the change of delivery. This time I called the 808 number. A lady answers, sounding a bit flustered. I had told her I had called earlier and left a message. She didn't acknowledge it but instead asked me for my order number. I had the order history online up and couldn't find it. She repeated again that she needed an order number. I pulled up the email and found it (luckily!). She found me and paused for a few moments before replying that "yeah I guess we can do it". Cue awkward moment. We then hung up. It was odd she didn't give me a confirmation of delivery change (is that not normal? I have no idea since I'm a n00b at ordering flowers). It was also odd that they didn't include the order number on my online account (that should be added for convenience). The flowers look beautiful and Mama C. got them on time. No complaints but I wish the online ordering was a little better and then phone person was a little more gung ho about their job. The arrangement came to the party on time and as Dale explained, it was the perfect centerpiece for each table! Everyone was complimenting the centerpieces and loved the fact that the ornament base could be used as a candy jar or container afterwards. I wasn't going to write a review because I was so grateful for the surprise bouquet I got from my boyfriend, but after hearing the stuff this company put him through & how much he spent, I feel obligated to help save someone else the trouble and money. We were going through some things when he was on the mainland & I was here so he wanted to surprise me. Stargazer lilies are my absolute favorite & he wanted to get them for me. He used telaflora to order their luxurious lavender bouquet, naturally getting premium because only the best for his girl. He even spent extra to make sure it was delivered to me by noon on a Tuesday. So he's on the mainland, 6 hours ahead & never got the email that the flowers had been sent out, so he called. They didn't have the lilies so they weren't sending out the flowers, but no one called to let him know. They said they'd go out Wednesday. Wednesday came & went, no delivery. Same thing,he had to call them. Again, no lilies. Thursday, same thing. By now he's been charged a few times & I haven't received anything. Friday was my one day off & he had arranged for them to be delivered to my work. They swear they'll have them to me on Friday. He figures what's the worst that could happen? I have to drive the 15 minutes to get them? So they're delivered to my job on Friday, I'm off getting a pedi. I go in to pick them up, they're beautiful. The card? I don't understand why anyone would let a card go out like that, but whatever. They ended up lasting about 3 days. That's it. Have you ever been inside of their store? It's very unorganized and uninviting. It literally is a flower chop shop. I've seen really nice arrangements come out of there and heard of the really bad ones. I went there to pick up a last minute lei. I was looking for decent and cheap. It didn't have to be perfect as long as it didn't cost an arm and a leg. This was on May 9, four days before Mothers day. I walk in and go straight to the refer since no one was at the counter. I look at the leis and the cheapest ones were all limp and nearly dead. And they were still trying to sell them for $5-$10. I didn't have time to look for another florist so I had to settle for what they had. If it wasn't dead for $5, it was fresh for $20-$30. yikes! Every "sale" lei I looked at had a dead flower or was super old. What's funny is the "new" price was still attached. She tells me, we couldnt sell it for $28.99 so now its $8.99. Lady, you couldn't sell it for a buck with it dead. Jeez. She kept pulling the sale leis out and saying out loud, "dis one dead. oh...dis one dead...oh dis one get one dead flawah." I was tempted to ask for "half dead" leis. Since the fresh ones were expensive. LOL! I finally settled for the traditional micro ginger lei for $15. it'll have to do. The ladies were nice which made up for what they were lacking. I looked all around the refers and they had a crapload of bouquets all ready made and sitting in the fridge. "For Mothers Day I assume? You guys must be busy!". The lady goes, "IT'S NUTS!" I can see having to work on making the arrangements in advance and maybe that's why so many people are getting dead flowers on the "day". Maybe the ref isn't cold enough? They also had bunches of gardenias, not fully opened for $12 a bunch. ouch. They had huge peonies in a bucket that I was afraid to ask about. My co worker had ordered a $60 arrangement to surprise his wife with. It was one of those artistic one flower designs with a long sprig of green coconut leaf midrib or something and an anthurium. He told me that he noticed ants coming out of it. He wasn't sure if it was from the flowers, the vase it was in, or the oasis. One, two, and soon a thousand little ants were marching around his countertop. They had to put the whole arrangement outside because of the ant infestation. What a waste! I'm so disappointed with this place. This was the first time my husband sent me flowers since he's doing an overseas tour, and I was so excited. Sadly, that changed quite quickly. Where do I begin? I received a bouquet of old flowers, really. Not all the flowers were old, some of the lilies are okay, but within a day my roses all went to crap. I have been growing roses with my family for most of my life, back in Canada, and the 2 varieties I received in my bouquet were very unfortunate, old and quite frankly, ugly. This saddens me as every woman would like to preserve her flowers for as long as possible, especially with such a beautiful intention behind it. To top it all off, the note that was sent was a joke also; they couldn't even put a whole word on one line, but instead cut words in half on 2 lines, just looked very tacky and cheap. This is the last time we use this place! After reading all the bad reviews on here, do yourselves a favour and order from another company; it isn't worth it. Yo! These ladies go! I called at 2:30 on Valentines day to ask for a bouquet pick up at 5pm (this is right at closing). Whatever I could get, I believe my order was "here's a price, please just make it look like it wasn't last minute." I left work at 4:30 to hop on the parking lot we call Nimitz, at 5:30 they called me, asking where I was, (luckily I wasn't far, considering it took me 45 minutes to get from the airport to restaurant row.) I pulled in to the lot and walked in to a waiting audience, I felt so bad that they all had had to stick around waiting for my last minute nonsense, but then I was handed the bouquet, and Oh My Crap! I get that they have to substitute if they can't get a certain flower but the arrangement was totally different. This company will take your money, fail to deliver flowers, and not return your calls. A week after scheduled delivery, no flowers, double charged, no calls, no refund. My husband thought he was ordering with a local florist, but the order was serviced through some national conglomerate (Main St Florist/The Flower Shop). They called me the Sunday before Valentine's Day and left a message stating the order didn't meet the minimum for Valentine's Day delivery (Tuesday), and we needed to order $30 more. I called back within an hour and got their answering service, told them to deliver on Monday. Over the next 3 days, I called 4 more times, getting the answering service each time. Someone finally called back Wednesday afternoon, asking if we still wanted the flowers. Uh, no. Full refund, please. When my husband checked his account for a refund, he saw the company had added a second charge of $95. I called and got the answering service again on Thursday morning. As of today, the following Monday, there has been no call back and no refund. I'm starting proceeding to have our bank recover the money, and will be filing complaints with BBB and state consumer protection authorities. I cannot recommend avoiding these people strongly enough. read more

For Valentine 2013 I ordered an arrangement for my girlfriend. the arrangement was way over stuffed! I had selected the upgrade and payed extra because I thought the vase size would be larger along with the quantity of flowers in it. Nope. They decided to overstuff the arrangement in a tiny round bowl. I am so disappointed! My girlfriend loves stargazer lilies however the flowers were all stuffed together they looked like a bunch of umbrella in a small box. The flowers were delivered, however, they were already dying when they were delivered. Yet another poor experience from Honolulu Florist. Now, just a follow-up to someone accusing me of simply being a disgruntle customer and accusing me of falsely calling Honolulu Florist anti-military (which I did NOT say). They accepted the order three weeks in advance - this was not a last minute order and the address given for delivery was ON BASE. They accepted orders and then contacted the people they were supposed to deliver to for alternate addresses because they made a CONCIOUS DECISION to not deliver to the requested addresses due to high volume and the "hassle" of getting on base (what the manager told me when I called) - not that they couldn't, they claimed to deliver on base every other day. THAT is why I said they fail to support service members. read more
