IF YOU HAVE SHOPPING TO DO ON THE BIG ISLAND GO TO BENTLEYS…read more========================================================= My sister and I decided to drive to the Waipio Lookout and then go to Waimea for shopping one day. If you have shopping to do definitely go to Parker Square. That is where Bentleys Home Collection is located. I love everything in the store and ended up buying a couple trivets. I bought one big one with a pineapple and a small one with a plumeria. Later I ended up giving the small plumeria one to my sister. I really needed another big trivet the size of the pineapple one, so I called the store a few months later and they shipped me another one. Pass on the kitschy ABC Stores and tourist traps down by the ocean and head up to Waimea one day. Take a side trip to the Waipio Lookout and grab lunch in Waimea too.

I would like to start off by saying for a store owner who has been there for quote on quote "10…read moreyears now" she have way better customer service, and engaging conversations with guests. I was just coming into the store and started a polite conversation because I have been in the store before, I was curious about the remodel changes and when it had happened but she was extremely rude and very disrespectful towards me. Also being born n raised in waimea never seen someone so disgraceful, and extremely abruptly. would give it a 0 star if I could!

He brings in some really beautiful pieces and often has a story to share about where it came from and how he acquired it. I stop by every time I visit Hilo and take my time perusing the shop because there are so many fun things to look at.

He was making a lei while I browsed around and as I paid for my merchandise and got gifted a Pualeikinini lei, I was touched by his kindness. I love the fragrant smell of this flower. I didn't expect that and grateful that the flowers are in season. Just walking around exploring this part of town, I am so glad I made a stop at this shop before my lunch reservations, it was around the corner. I loved looking at the antique and vintage stuff, some items did bring back some memories of small kid times but some were quite interesting to look at. One item caught my eyes, saw a mini cute sewing machine which I had to get for my mom, it reminded me of her ( she had a sewing machine just like it). I was surprised at the price and Kelii even packaged the items up so nicely. My mom was so happy when she opened it, thank you for doing this! The Kicknackery ( cute name btw) is a unique store located in downtown Hilo, that sells a variety of items including: Antiques, vintage collectibles, souvenirs, & quirky knick-knacks. It was meant to be stopping by at the Knickknackery, make a stop here You would never know what interesting, unusual items, one of a kind treasures, you might find or browse to discover hidden gems!

Darrell helped us in the store, explained how to care for the furniture, and provided us with quotes. We were able to choose the tables and chairs separately and are very pleased with the quality and price. Very sturdy pieces and beautiful wood finish! Delivery was also amazing at only $99. The owners personally delivered and set up the furniture. They took great care in handling the pieces. They unwrapped the furniture on site to protect it in transit and used moving blankets when needed. I highly recommend Big Island Living for its quality furniture and friendly, helpful, and professional service.

About a month ago, I ordered two furniture pieces and paid a 50% deposit, with the understanding I would pay the remaining balance when the items arrived. While I was in the store, I witnessed another customer ask about a kamaʻāina discount and paying cash to avoid taxes, and the salesperson agreed. I then asked if I could do the same. The salesperson told me that with a Hawaiʻi driver's license, I qualified for a kamaʻāina discount. The salesperson offered to refund my deposit so I could pay cash after the discount was applied when the furniture arrived, and I agreed. Later, I was contacted by the owner (Courtney), who told me they do not offer a kamaʻāina discount and that paying cash was the "discount." That is not what was explained to me in-store. When I asked that the agreement made by their salesperson be honored, it was refused. Instead, I was repeatedly told that the kamaʻāina discount (which they dont offer!!) referred to tax savings, which was never how it had been presented at the time of purchase. I questioned why I needed a Hawaii Drivers License then? Anyone can pay cash! During that call, Courtney ended the conversation after stating she would not honor what had been communicated in-store and had nothing further to discuss. Because of how this situation was handled, I chose not to move forward with the transaction. Potential customers should be wary of what felt like bait-and-switch terms and unethical business practices. What is communicated at the point of sale may not be what is ultimately honored. This experience felt misleading, reflected poor business practices, and completely eroded my trust.
