We have been ordering takeout from here for over 20 years. Their food recipes have been quite consistent over the years. I love their soups - Hot & Sour being the best I've ever had anywhere! We also enjoy their crab rangoon, steamed or fried dumplings, teriyaki chicken, and the curry chicken turnovers are all delicious! Their egg rolls are okay, but I stopped ordering them when they became so ridiculously small - cost is $2.09 each. All of their prices have increased substantially over the past couple years - they are on the price gouging bandwagon with everyone else of course! But I do know other Chinese establishments are yet even more pricier than this one. I am one that likes variety and to try different dishes. Unfortunately, many have left me disappointed because their sauces are boring and lackluster. However, there are still a variety of selections to choose from that are delicious and keep me plenty satisfied: Chow Mein (cabbage dish) Mei Fun (thin noodle) Chow Fun (flat noodle) Singapore Chow Mei Fun (spicy, yum!) This place is much , much better than 2.5 stars.I would compare the food to a decent mall food court Chinese restaurant. I was super impressed with the pork egg foo young and the pork fried rice. Also had the Hunan chicken, wouldn't recommend this dish. The egg foo young was really, really good and I may be obsessed with this dish as I haven't had it so many years I have forgotten how much I like it. It wasn't greasy and had nice pieces of pork and onions. The pork fried rice was also really good , a lot of nice fresh pieces of pork in the rice , very good. The Hunan chicken wasn't bad but I definitely wouldn't order it again. It was supposed to be spicy and it wasn't, it did have nice fresh veggies and chicken but the sauce was disappointing. I've come here a few times because is cheap and the closest americanized chinese food to my house. Is it good though? Eh. Its alright. I usually go for the eggplant with chicken or pork dish and they definitely give you bang for your buck in terms of portions. Their general tso is definitely not my favorite, but still satisfies the craving. Ive had better at mall food courts. One of the only Chinese restaurants open in my area with the whole COVID-19 situation. Placed an order for takeout and the woman said to come in 45m. Didn't even take a name. Arrive and it's a cluster f*ck. People are outside waiting for the same woman taking phone orders on the inside to literally show a receipt stapled to the menu against the restaurant window. Multiple people are going up to the window at the same time to read this tiny receipt which defeats the 6 foot social distancing rule. The worst system I have seen. Once your receipt is shown, then you may go inside to finalize the transaction. There has to be a better way for curbside service. The woman definitely seemed frazzled and overwhelmed. Chinese food was mediocre. The boneless spare rib tips were super fatty and did not taste fresh. The shrimp in garlic sauce was alright. Not all the general tso's chicken pieces were crunchy. I usually am extremely happy with the food we order as we order a lot during the year and our bill is usually over $70 dollars per order. Last night an $80 dollar order that was mostly fine except for my Shrimp Egg Foo Yung. The brown sauce which makes the whole dish looked like brown water and tasted like crap. This is a pretty decent Fast food Chinese restaurant. I come here quite often as it is close to my place of employment. I've never had anything bad from here. I usually mix it up when it comes to Chinese fare so I've had quite a few items from the menu. The dining room is clean and well maintained and the staff is friendly enough. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot so it is easily accessible. My favorite dish from here is the fried rice. It's not too salty and the rice is perfectly done everytime. I ordered through GrubHub. I specified multiple places in the order that there should be no pork. Received my egg roll and my general tso chicken platter containing pork, even paid the extra to switch the pork fried rice with a chicken substitute . I called the restaurant and they said it was a mixup someone ordered the same dish but wanted pork fried rice. They said "don't touch it and give it back". We gave it back to trade for the correct order, but we put a note in the food that said this was already given to us and touched, just in case they tried to take to another customer. Then, the next day I saw a review on grubhub of the customer who they took the already touched food to. As a restaurant you should have enough respect for your customers and your business that you deliver freshly made food straight from your kitchen. read more

Having lived many years in New York where good Chinese food is easy to find, I was shocked by how hard it was to find in PA. My wife and i tried several only to find the local style was "add way too much salt" and then we found this place. It has booths for eating in but these are rarely used. It seems to survive very well on local take out and delivery and that's just fine. The food is good and reliable and what you'd expect from take out. The prices are on a par with other take away places and we'll get dinner from here 3-4 times a month. Looking at other order's here the issue seems to be delivery. I never like delivery and have no problem popping in my car to go get it. My wife phones it in and by the time i get there, it's ready to go. Is it haute cuisine? THIS is perfect Chinese food! Wontons were meaty, ribs were delicious, noodles super crispy, rice sticky, egg roll perfect, but the stars were the entrees. Hunan Beef was tender and hot, but not too hot, as described; Veges in it were fresh and tender. The Shanghai Duck was great! Crispy outside, tender inside, with a wonderful brown sauce. I ordered more than $30 dollars worth of stuff from both their Chinese menu and "Thai" menu and guess what - everything tasted the SAME! They apparently use the same exact vegetables and ingredients for ALL their dishes, and just change up ONE or two things from dish to dish. THis would be okay if everything tasted equally good, but everything was equally disgusting!! The Thai food is just the Chinese food with the same sauce, only with an addition of basil. The Chinese dishes all are exactly the same flavorless piles of grease. How is this place still in business? Disgusting, bad quality ingredients...frozen food tastes miles better than this! I won't be going back to Hong Kong Kitchen anytime soon. It seems like each time I go, the food is worse. The sauces are heavy and thick and the only real flavor in them anymore is salty blandness. Spicy dishes don't have much spice. The soup servings are smaller, and I've had multiple servers act exasperated when I ask for mustard with my fried wonton noodle appetizer thing. When a serving isn't all that bad, and I consistently leave more than half of it when I leave, it's obviously time to stop wasting my money. read more

The staff I found to be unfriendly at best as well. Not rude. But, just blatantly unfriendly. Very hard to understand through the thick accent. I don't know if its their policy or what, every single time I've ordered over the phone, they neither take my name nor my number. I love their sesame chicken-- crispy on the outside and generous with the meat, sauce not too overbearing. Plus I am a shrimp fried rice snob -- let me tell ya, although their choice of shrimp isn't the jumbo but the taste is just my type!! Not the yellowish and artificial looking ones.
