Yee Gan O.

A few church friends and I popped in here for lunch this afternoon. Yes, it's a generic buffet restaurant aimed at the tourists and non adventurous. However, it met our needs - reasonable food at a reasonable price and somewhere to rest our feet for a leisurely lunch. The food choice didn't throw up any great surprises but the beef brisket curry was unusual and nice. I did also eat a lot of galia melon for dessert. Be aware that the headline price of £9.95 will be bolstered by 10% service charge and drinks are on the pricey side (£1.50 for Chinese tea, anyone?) although they do give you tap water if requested without any attitude. Also, it's cash only. There are cheaper buffets in Chinatown but this was A-OK

They forced £2 for a tip, like who does that? ... The rice wasn't warm. The chicken was enjoyable tho, aswell as the sweet&sour chicken

I thought higher but Fiance thinks lower so we will meet in the middle haha Roasted Duck-- I thought this was tasty and full of flavor, paired well with my noodle soup Crispy Pork Belly-- good and crispy, but Fiance thought it could use more flavor Egg Noodle Soup-- it hit the spot because it was freezing outside lol but i believe it was dry egg noodle vs fresh egg noodle that was used Stir-fry vegetables-- good but also a bit oily House Fried Rice -- Fiance's favorite dish So happy this time around we got to try Four Seasons, go early beause the restaurant will quickly fill up around lunch time!

There's a "Little Four Seasons" connected to the standard "Four Seasons" and an upstairs that (maybe?) encompasses both-- as far as I can tell the same menu and service applies to both/all. A poster with a review from the London Financial Times points to their roast duck as "the best in the world"-- I am by no means qualified to know if that is true but I ordered the 3 meat option with duck, pork belly, and barbecue chicken and found the duck to be delicious (as were the other meats). The rice is very good, not greasy at all. My wife had chicken and rice, and her chicken was a lighter grilled chicken that was also good. We had an order of the pork dumplings which were also great. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Prices fair.

We found this Sichuan/Fujian/Cantonese combination restaurant and decided to give a try. They gave us an English menu with Chinese-Bristish food and a Chinese menu with a lot of dish pictures. We ordered from Chinese menu for spicy fish and spicy frog legs. Both of them taste good, but not enough ash peppers. Rice is L2.5 per bowl, tea is L1.5 per cup. Dishes are more expensive than US. The two people's lunch costs us $57. I'm ready to go back to US. London is too pricey for me. I thought Chinatown should be cheap. I guess not.

Here's the thing about this place…read more Sure, the name could use a re-think. But as I was led to my table peering on curiously as to what others have ordered, it quickly dawned on me that no one has a clue as to what New Aroma does well. If only these tourists and locals can get over their obsession with kung-pao-this and spring-roll-that. New Aroma specializes in spicy food, in particular from the Szechuan province in China. That's right, tongue-numbing peppercorns and all. This isn't something they prominently advertise, though hanging up pictures of frog legs and blood and innards stew wouldn't exactly be considered a good business move in these parts. It's the orange chicken and spring rolls that really pay the bills. Chinatown, after all, isn't built to serve the Chinese. But if you're in for some righteous spicy Chinese dining, New Aroma is where it's at.
