I arrived 10 minutes early for my grooming appointment and was shocked by how I was treated. Instead of a simple hello, I was abruptly told--in a confrontational and unfriendly tone--to leave and come back at my scheduled time. No greeting, no professionalism, just rudeness. the opposite of customer service! The employee who spoke to me was sitting on the curb outside the business when I arrived. It was clear I had interrupted her break, but that's no excuse for the tone and attitude I received. Her lack of customer service and basic courtesy was unacceptable. Vanity Fur is in the service industry, and treating customers this way is completely inappropriate. I was genuinely shocked by the interaction and will not be returning. I do not recommend this place to anyone who values respectful and professional service.

This is a nice enough facility, but you do NOT get your money's worth…read more I brought in my sheepdog who has unique more wirey hair, but doesn't shed enough to take care of herself; she needs grooming about twice a year to clean her up. I brought her in and told them I wanted her to get a complete summer cut. I specified trimming up her face so she could see (long beard and eyebrows), shaving down her privates, thinning out her entire coat, and trimming her belly/legs/chest. I also specifically said NOT to tear out her ear hairs, to trim them instead. It took four hours, and when I picked her up I could see her face! I loved seeing her feet all shaped nicely and her nails trimmed, so I paid the $100 and took her home. When I got home and was able to look at her, I realized that her face and feet were the only thing that they listened to me on. There was dried blood in her ears showing they absolutely did rip out her hair against my direction. Yes her butt was shaved, and her face was trimmed, but the rest of her was quite literally untouched. I had to wing it in my backyard with household scissors just to get her hair down to a reasonable length. I will NOT be returning, this amount of work was worth $40 at most.

Nails were not groomed properly. The work was just below basic. The funny part is that they always asked for a tip. She never once followed directions with how I wanted my dog cut. I asked for a puppy cut and she was clueless. Good Riddance. I'm sure I can find better at a cheaper price.

We drove her right to the vet and it was discovered that she had a 5 mm and a 7mm laceration in her tongue and lip, as well as a broken canine tooth. Vet kept her and sedated her to stitch both lacerations. Owner downright refused to take responsibility even though the dog was in her care and blamed the dog. It has since cost us well over $2,000 inluding the charge for the groom that she never completed and charged us $100 for. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS THERE!

Her nails were still ridiculously long after her "trim." Because of this, I tried a different groomer this month. We went today, and I was told her ears were really dirty. I don't understand why her ears would be dirty when she doesn't roll around in anything. If they had cleaned her ears properly last month, they wouldn't have been "really dirty" this month. In addition, the parking lot is a nightmare. I can't speak to their other services, but definitely will not be back.

I called and left two messages (which is the ONLY way you can schedule appointments or get much information other than walking in) and neither call was returned. Stuff happens, messages get lost, so I decided to walk in and did not get a warm reception at all. I'm assuming it was the owner in the middle of grooming and she asked what she could do for me in what seems to be a clearly irritated tone. I explained I had left two messages and hadn't heard back (to which you would think you might get an apology or explanation but got nothing except a further irritated expression.). I asked pricing, availability and how best to schedule appointments. She answered $75, which is around double nearly anyone else I've ever talked to or gone to. I asked if she does much grooming on many doodles (as I have had several groomers 'poodle' my doodle, which is why I am so particular about groomers and will pay more for one who knows the true 'doodle' cut .) I think she actually rolled her eyes and said yes, she has been doing lots of mixed breeds for years. The demeanor, way she answered and less than warm first impression turned me off very much. We are new to town and have owned small businesses in small towns and word of mouth can be your best friend or your worst enemy, and while we all have off days I was less than impressed from this interaction...especially compared to all the other local businesses we have been fortunate enough to interact with who are warm, friendly and eager to help. Also, we choose to give our business to companies who adapt to changing times and busy lives. I go to a groomer because I am too busy to groom my own dogs, work full time and can not call during business hours during the work week to schedule appointments. We look for businesses that have scheduling online or even via email or Facebook. This business does not nor did they return a call from my two phone calls and messages I left. Needless to say, we will NOT be bringing our dogs there nor recommending this business based on this.

The owner is an award winning…read moregroomer that has pretty much groomed every dog breed or mixed breed out there and has years and years of experience, unlike the pet food store groomers who dry the dog in a kennel with a blower rather than professionally on a table and maybe have been grooming dogs for a month. Care is taken to find out just what you are wanting done at drop off so there are no surprises. Dogs are happy and squeaky clean when you pick them up. And prices are low for grooming and nail trims compared to the big name stores. It is so nice to have the Silver Leash and worth the half hour drive for me to have my guys groomed so well. Plus there are fun dog treats and chewies and toys in the shop for a post grooming treat.
