Receptionist greeted me right away. My hair was a mess and was in desperate need of a good cut. Shannon listened and studied my hair before proceeding. She cut dry and then shampooed and conditioned. Beautiful cut and I've already received several compliments. The best part, it looks just as good after I washed it as when Shannon did. If you are looking for someone to cut naturally curly hair, this is the place.

Unfortunately what I walked out of the salon was far from what we had discussed and FAR from the color swatches we chose & 0 ashy tone. after she initially put my color on and washed me & began dryong me I could tell something was wrong. She kept making remarks about how she wasn't sure why the color/toner didn't grab and why it wasn't the color we agreed on. She also continued to ask me if I liked the root color brown - I didn't mind it, but it definitely wasn't the deeper brown that we agreed on. She then stated she could try to lighten some of my areas up and reapply the toner and see if it would grab on lighter pieces better. I specifically stated I didn't want large streaks I'd rather it look more melted/blended in if we did lighten bc I don't want thar feel, i wanted a bayalage feel. So I trusted her and she began highlighting areas of my hair. Mind you there's no color melting and I'm being foiled. She rinses me out and begins drying me and immediately it's a nightmare. Worse than before. I have a HUGE white streak that is not symmetrically placed at the front of my face - I love a money piece, but this is an out of place wide white streak. My hair is also noticeably damaged from this in this area as well. She states she feels bad and she can't allow me to pay her for her services because she knew the color was not what I wanted. I asked her to let me pay her for the cut and the eyebrow waxing. My total was 57.00 and I still left her a 26.00. She continued to state that she wasn't sure what happened. She was going to talk to "someone" and would definitely be reaching out to me, I told her I appreciated that and her time and we would get it figured out. It had been 2 entire days and I've heard nothing from her or anyone else at the salon for that matter. I am now upset because I was hoping she'd at least try to make her errors right. Feels very shady & honestly very unprofessional... she knew I was disappointed in what I walked out with 4.5 hours later. She is a sweet girl, but inexperienced and I would highly advise against using her for your service - pics of inspo vs what I got attached.

And, I kid you not, they texted me the morning of my appt, again, to tell me they needed to reschedule my appt. After alerting them that this was the second time in a row this had happened, they gave me a cancellation slot for 4pm, which I accepted. At 3:45pm, I get a text that they need to move my appt to 4:30 because they are running behind. I accept. When I'm finally seen at 5pm, Chris is cranky that he's covering someone else's appt and it's clear he wants to go home. When he realizes that I need a color correction, I believe he almost had a tantrum, knowing it was going to be a process. I was prepared for the correction to take more than one visit and asked him to do what he could. He eventually even refuses to do a test strip on my hair to make sure I can move forward with another stylist the following day. Washes my hair and flat out refuses to do anything. And ensures me that someone will be able to do my hair the following day. The scheduler says they are completely booked for the foreseeable future so I just leave. With wet hair, and zero words to describe this experience other than inexcusable. To be fair, the manager did call me the next day to try to clear up the situation by asking for my side of events. But they'd already lost me as a customer at that point. She told me it would take multiple appointments to get my hair where I wanted. I ended up making an appt at Lava Salon with Emma instead who got me EXACTLY where I wanted to be in one appointment lasting 3 hours. I would not recommend Urban Nirvana for anything other than a trim and if you are ok with being treated poorly.

Alli was fantastic!!…read more I'm from out of town and I'm only here for a week for vacation. I wanted to donate my hair, so I checked online for salons and called and made a very last minute appointment - same day and only 3 hours after I called. When I walked in and sat down, we discussed what I wanted to do and whether or not it was feasible. It turned out that in order for me to donate we'd almost have to shave the back of my head. Well, I was committed so I said that was OK with me. I pulled up some pictures on Pinterest, and away we went! It was a dry cut at first to get the donation done and get the general shape ready. Then there was the shampoo and the rest of the cut. It was a great experience and I walked out with a very edgy, short bob that suits me to a T. When I went to settle the check, I was amazed to find that because I donated my hair, the cut was free!!! Can't beat that, so I left a tip and went on my way. I couldn't have had a better experience!

I was introduced to Ginger by my mother, and I knew it was a match made in heaven after I walked out that salon door the first time Ginger did my hair! Fast forward to a few years later, I relocated back to New York City. For the first year or so, I traveled back and forth from SC to NYC to have Ginger color my hair (I told you I take my hair color seriously!), but after a while, I knew it wasn't economical to keep up with such an expensive habit. I started to try some of the top colorists here in NYC (and also paid top dollar $400+ NOT including the blowout because that's always additional ). Eventually, I found someone that was "OKAY" and stayed with them for the last few years but was never excited with the outcome of my hair. After my last hair appt here, I looked at my hair and just felt SO underwhelmed, and for $375, I want to feel HAPPY and that I got my money's worth! I finally said screw it, I'm going back to Ginger. I flew into Charleston on Friday with super dull and ashy blonde hair, and I got back on that plane with the most beautiful golden blonde highlights that I haven't had in so long!! I walked on that plane feeling like F*CKING Heidi Klum!!!! I FEEL AND LOOK F*CKING FANTASTIC, all thanks to my miracle worker, Ginger. Even after having good color jobs from the top salons in NYC, (Rita Hazan, Frederic Fekkai, Sally Hershberger), Ginger at Nola's tops them all! Ginger, thank you for making me feel and look beautiful again. I'll never leave your side again.
