Honeys Restaurant in Mangam, La leaves much to be desired. We waited almost 15 minutes before we stopped someone passing by told them we were ready to order. Then it took another 15 minutes for the food to come out. One member of our party ordered the roast beef Po-Boy and there was only 1 thin slice of beef and a thick slice of tomato so basically a tomato and bread sandwich. I had the catfish and even though it was a healthy portion the catfish was not crisp, it was soft and floppy and one piece I pulled six bones out of my mouth. No one came to check on us to see if we needed anything or refills. We had to get up and get our own utensils. The food is nothing to write home about. Will not be back. read more

We had the Sunday buffet and enjoyed it. The chicken strips were fluffy and crispy, just right. The sides were well done and tasty. Having a white gravy option would be my only request. The staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back. read more

Bad service this is our third attempt and last walked in hardly no one there 230 p order was taken 20 minutes later different waitress comes to tell us the ran out of roast beef, I never ordered that I ordered a ribeye poboy a whole one. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes his order came out the lady served him cold mashed potatoes 10 minutes later my sandwich came out it was a half no gravy steak reminded me of the dollar store version and top it off mid way into my meal a damn roach crawled on the wall next to me. Finding this great out-of-the-way restaurant known to its locals as the place to go for catfish, grilled or fried. Sanders Country Kitchen is in the small town, Mangham, La., just south of Rayville, La. Their catfish is excellent. They serve all the side dishes associated with Southern cuisine: Hush puppies, to name one. They have a fine Sweet Tea, which I tried for the first time. Don't come here if you're looking for a fancy place and over-the-top atmosphere. Sanders is down-to-earth. They serve to large crowds, though we were very lucky to catch them on a quiet late morning before the lunch crowd showed up. They are open seven days a week. If you love catfish, you're all set. Plus, the staff and other patrons are friendly. It could be our north Midwestern accents that caught their curiosity. read more

I give Strong's three stars because while the quantity of food on their Friday/Saturday night buffet is plentiful, the quality is severely lacking. This is a small, local restaurant where the wait staff knows everyone by name (except out of towers like me!). There is a always a large selection of different fish/seafood/chicken, but the majority of the food tastes like it has been under the heat lamp for hours (even when we stopped by at the beginning of the evening). One side note: Get your dessert early! Once it's gone, it's gone for good! They won't bring out anymore. read more

Just walked in and sat down it was 6 of us not including my 1 year and 8 month old daughter and we waited 28 mins for someone to come give us menus and take our drink order i had to go up to them and ask them for 6 menus and then waited 5 more minutes we already had what we wanted picked out to order and still no one came to the table so we left and are going to eat somewhere else read more

Took 30 minutes to get my food that i ordered off the menu (not buffet) and it was only a side of green beans, Mac and cheese (which clearly came from the easy Mac box), and a baked potato. They gave me 2 DIFFERENT *WRONG* meals before I actually got my meal that i ordered. I dont recommend this place at all. I'm all for a family restaurant in a small town but they need to gain some better service. read more

The food is standard Southern fare, and reasonably good. The service is pretty average, maybe slightly less than good. Prices are pretty incredible, but in a Manhattan sort of way. Gold dust does not come as a standard topping, but you'll think it is based on your ticket. read more

We stopped by for the noon meal on Sunday. The after church crowd was there, but the place was not crowded. The buffet was not visually appealing and, if we had not been on a tight schedule, we would have gone elsewhere. The salad bar offered a large bowl of mostly white pieces of iceberg lettuce and assorted canned condiments. We passed. For entree my wife and I both had fried chicken. It was moist and tasty, but I had to peel off the very thick batter crust to taste the chicken. Sides: generic boiled greens were good, potatoes were too salty to eat, and fried green tomatoes were good (but too much batter crust and salt). The dessert table hosted an empty tray of what appeared to be banana pudding -- it was not replaced. The soft serve ice cream (in lieu of pudding) was not fully frozen, but I ate it anyway. It was the height of the meal. Service was friendly and prompt; however, we'll not be returning. [If I had to eat there again, I'd order a hamburger.] read more

Absolutely terrible service. There are a bunch of young girls who work here and they are rude and the owner doesn't care and will not talk to you if you have a problem. The food is okay but not nearly okay enough for the prices that they charge when they are so close to other towns with much better food like rayville, or Delhi where you can go eat on the golf course for about the same price with food that is 100 times better. read more
