Well I live in NH, so the mask nonsense ended for many of us a while ago. I walk up to the door and there you go....must wear a mask to enter. I work in Methuen so I know there isn't a tyrannical mandate as far as I'm aware. If you cannot realize by now that masks are useless, then I'll take my business elsewhere.

However Smitty's seems to have what you need. All the basics are covered (usual beers, wines, spirits. etc). However they do have a decent assortment of IPAs and other craft beers. They also have a small, but decent selection of quality whiskeys. This is not the place to go if you are searching for something unique. The store is horrible the men that work there are rude and are discriminating towards white women I…read moredon't know how they treat white men in there but I'm a white woman and they are always very rude me, talk down to me and make me feel very uncomfortable. This is not a store I ever go in unless I absolutely have to. I'm only writing this because this has happened 3 times. At first I thought maybe he was having a bad day. The second time I started to think, 'no way'. But tonight the back up register worker wouldn't even take me just directed me over to the first guy in the main register. When there were a good 12 people waiting he stopped to break down boxes instead of ringing me out. Then the guy at the main register wasn't going to ring me out cause I put my PIN number in wrong 3 times. He told me that was my limit and I had to go. I argued and he rang me up again and it was the correct pin. But I didn't think I was playing baseball. It was an accident cause I had just changed it. He told me to f-off as I walked out. I turned around and yes there was a line but I certainly was not taking up too much off his time only purchasing one item. I was the only white person in the store which is always the way at that store but it is what it is. I Don't have an issue with that and neither should he. I'm disgusted with both of the men there. Both have acted similarly in both other past experiences. It's not right!

As a longtime customer, I'm shocked and disappointed by what I witnessed on October 3, 2025. While…read moreshopping, I saw two employees mock and take advantage of a deaf customer. After the customer left, the male clerk laughed and bragged that he double charged her "because she was deaf." The total should've been around $19, but he claimed he charged her nearly $40. The other female employee laughed along. This kind of behavior is disgusting, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable. It shows a total lack of integrity and compassion, and suggests this is not a one time incident. I will never return, and I strongly urge others to double check your receipts. No one should support a business that treats customers with disabilities this way.

When I visited, I walked in and was greeted by the woman at the counter and she was super nice! I had no idea where I was going cause I've only been to this store a couple times to buy a few tallboy's maybe 6 months to a year ago. I walked by the beer fridges/wine cause I didn't know where the soda was... I found the sodas in a little cove area, (FAR right when you walk through the door in a bit of a 'cove'.) so I went to look for a specific zero calorie soda... I didn't see the drink at first, so it took me at least 30 seconds to find it. While I was looking for MAYBE 30 seconds to 1 minute, one of the employees walked up right next to me/kinda behind me on his phone and stood right there? (I think he pretended to text?) IMO, it felt like he thought I was going to steal something and wanted to hang out to make sure I didn't?? I've never stolen anything in my life but I've worked in retail a ton, so I know loss prevention is a big thing! I don't necessarily blame them for being cautious but... It just felt a bit weird and it also felt a bit awkward because I saw the same guy up front earlier and then he just walks up next to me while pretending to be on his phone, MAYBE a minute (probably less) after I started looking for a soda? I definitely wouldn't discourage you from going to this location! The people are still very nice, but if you also feel/have felt a bit awkward, then it's definitely not just me!
