At any other boarding facility, they have been stressed and anxious upon pick up. They run a clean organized business with plenty of space for my BIG dogs. However, when I find a place I love, I also want to share, especially for picky people like myself whose fur babies are also family. It a so difficult to find a safe, trustworthy place to board! A friend of mine recommended K9 Heeling for dog training because she has sent all of her family…read moredogs there over the years and has always had great results. My first experience with K9 Heeling was virtual training sessions with Mitch. I had tried a few other trainers with my new rescue dog previously, but right away Mitch was asking questions about my dog and our relationship that no one else had, and immediately began identifying room for improvement and areas we could work together. In a few one-hour virtual sessions, Mitch helped me make great strides with my rescue so that I could leave her out in my living room when I left for work without her panicking or peeing anywhere. It was clear to me that Mitch really understood dog psychology and how to best train dogs to achieve a happy and positive relationship with them. When I had to go on a week-long trip recently, I thought it would be a good opportunity to use K9 Heeling's board and train two-week program. I drove almost three hours from DC to drop her off at what appeared to be a well-maintained and remote area, which made me happy that the odds of my dog escaping to a high-traffic area were low. I was immediately greeted by employees who were expecting my dog; I conveyed my hesitation because I had never left her with strangers before and was worried that due to her size (7lbs) she might escape through a small hole in a fence or be picked on by larger dogs. They assured me that no dog is ever unsupervised when out of their kennel. Later that evening, I got an email from K9 Heeling saying that they usually wait a day to send an update, but that they knew I was nervous about leaving my dog and wanted to let me know she was settling in just fine. Over the next two weeks, I got updates via Instagram photos and videos, as well as update emails with helpful training guides. I drove back out to pick her up after two weeks and spent about an hour with Mitch discussing how they had trained her and how I could continue the training. We went on a practice walk together where my dog showed off her new heeling skills and did not even try to lunge after the free range chickens! Overall, I highly recommend K9 Heeling for training, boarding, and even grooming needs. They are well-staffed, their facilities are in good shape, they keep a close eye on all their dogs, and genuinely care about the happiness and health of each animal. WELL WORTH the long drive from DC!

I could have an appointment for one of my cats, and the Dr. will always check in with me on my sister's new puppy, or my nephews German Shepherd! The same goes for when my family visits, she will always ask about my cats. I am a Sphynx breeder, and sadly these cats are prone to many serious health conditions and complications. As a breeder, finding not only hands on, but pro-active care is very important. I have found this here at Choptank. I live over an hour away and will make that trip across the Bay Bridge for their care. I have also recommended her to other Sphynx's owners. They are also very good at handling skittish pets. My nephew has a German Shepherd that had an "alternate ID" and viewed vets as the ultimate enemy. It made it hard to get him care, as he is a huge German Shepherd. The Dr came in clutch with a "fear not" attitude and met my nephew in the parking lot, overlooked our dogs scare tactics and the two walked into the front door together. If I have ever had an emergency, and their schedule permits, I have been able to be seen, or diverted to proper care elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and professional and I recommend them to anyone not only on the Eastern Shore, but also within the DC Metro area.
