We've been trying to transfer service to a locally owned pharmacy where we get much better service but office records all have Walgreens in our files. Slowly getting them all changed. We've had to wait between 48 and 72 hours for both antibiotics and pain meds with several incidents requiring additional Urgent Care and Emergency Department visits because Walgreens is holding the prescription hostage. Three separate times I tried to pick up prescriptions to find that it was closed because there was no pharmacist available. This is not patient-centered and I don't know how licensing boards allow them to stay open.

We have purchased sealed containers of refrigerated items which on opening found them covered in mold which indicates proper temperature control measures were not followed. There have been several occasions I have found open packages. Produce section is hit or miss because it's obvious, as in other areas, proper precautions and regular checks are not being done. Many items that are well within date are obviously not safe for consumption. Frozen and refrigerated foods are often stocked above the fill line in the bunkers when they actually are stocked which brings them into the possibility of not being refrigerated properly. The higher prices and lowest quality of product at this location should be a major concern to anyone shopping here.

I accept that they are a small town pharmacy and often don't have, have to order, or can't get some of my prescriptions and I'm always flexible despite the inconvenience. However, today when the pharmacist Megan refused to fill a prescription for one of my long-standing medications and told me I needed to "tell my doctor that he needed to write another one for a lower dose" I could not believe what I was hearing. This is a medication I've been on for seven years. This is the same dose I have historically been on. This is not a narcotic medication, it's used for my MS. Where in the world does the pharmacist get off Practicing Medicine by overruling my doctor and deciding the dose of my medication??? That is between me and my doctor and we've already discussed it in office, he wrote for it, his office faxed it in and I believe they even had to do a prior-authorization.
