This had never been recommended by any previous dentist I've seen, so I chose to decline the treatment because I wanted to seek a second opinion first. After I declined, I was asked to sign a form. I chose not to sign because I wasn't comfortable doing so. Instead of respecting my decision, the staff repeatedly pressured me to sign, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the experience didn't end there. After I left, I called the office to schedule another appointment, and the front desk staff was extremely rude. The person I spoke with raised her voice and spoke to me in an unprofessional manner. Patients have the right to ask questions, decline treatment, and seek a second opinion without being pressured or treated disrespectfully. I expected professionalism and respect, but that was not my experience. Because of how I was treated, I will not be returning to this office.

The office has such a calming environment, which immediately put me at ease. Kiara was incredibly patient with me during X-rays, especially since I have a sensitive gag reflex. She was so kind and reassuring throughout. The front desk receptionist was also very welcoming and had a calming presence that really added to the overall atmosphere. Dr. Chen was professional, kind, and took the time to listen to all of my concerns. I really appreciated his conservative approach to dentistry--he thoroughly explained all potential treatment options without making me feel pressured. During my scaling, he was very mindful of my comfort, which made a big difference. Thank you to Dr. Chen and the entire team for such a great visit. I was recommended a deep cleaning (SRP) and was told my out-of-pocket cost would be around $263, which I paid upfront. The total estimate showed insurance covering the majority of the cost. However, after the procedure, both of my insurances denied the claim, stating that the documentation did not support the need for SRP (no attachment loss or radiographic evidence). I later learned that no pre-treatment estimate was submitted to insurance, which could have prevented this situation. Had I known there was a significant risk of denial, I would have reconsidered moving forward. What was especially concerning was being told that a routine cleaning would not be covered unless SRP was done, which does not align with my actual insurance benefits. This influenced my decision to proceed. Now I am being asked to pay over $700, basically full price. If I knew this going in, I would've chosen somewhere else. I understand that insurance estimates are not guarantees, but there should be better communication and transparency--especially when recommending costly procedures. Patients should be clearly informed of risks and alternative options. Overall, this experience has affected my trust, and I would recommend others double-check coverage and consider requesting a pre-treatment estimate before proceeding with major dental work. I will be going to WesternU Dental from now on.

unfortunately my recent experience with the office team has not been very good…read more i previously had a dental crown procedure with this office and i loved the experience, from booking to the operation. this was last year, i have since switched insurances and wanted to return to apex dentistry. previously i was quoted about 1k for wisdom teeth removal. my new insurance has advised they cover this procedure fully. i called earlier this week and was advised to call later to speak to the office administrator. they did not offer to take my info down, just to call later. well i called later on and requested the office administrator. the office administrator had actually answered the call, but she advised to call back tomorrow. i was confused because all i needed was them to update my information and check if my insurance covers this procedure fully. i advised i was a returning patient and it felt like i was pulling teeth, begging them to at least take my info down. the admin ended up asking for the name of my insurance and my callback number. they advised they would call the next day between 1-5. that was the last i heard from them! it's been a few days and at this point, i may not want to return. the staff was inattentive and did not return my call. that is quite unfortunate because they are local and i liked the dentist and was confident in his work.

This was brought up the other day when I was having coffee with a girl friend who also came to Premier Esthetics and experienced very bad customer service from front desk ladies. She also stopped coming to this office due to the same reason. My experience with the dentists was very pleasant. The ladies in front desk are very condesending when asked about cost of services. I do not have dental insurance so it is very important for me to know the exact costs of services that will be provided. They are very vague in telling you what to expect and add services without letting you know there will be additional costs. I find this to be very shady. I am not sure if management knows that there are lack of customer service skills with their front desk but hopefully with this review management will address this with the ladies in front desk area. I have since found another facility where customer service is all around outstanding.

When I was on the job market, the insurance they take was a big factor in where I looked for jobs (yes, they're *that* good). Now, I look forward to my appointments. I got my wisdom teeth out here and the anesthesia gave me really bad anxiety/the shakes. They reassured me the entire time and helped keep me calm.
