Marc was very helpful from the moment I called him telling him I heard something running around my attic. He came out immediately, walked around my attic and showed me footprints and other evidence he could find, and then went up on my roof and patched up the point of entry - where the animal was getting in. Heard scratching in the attic 3 in the morning. My brave cat could care less. When Honest Abe asked what i thought it was, in my mind it sounded like a 15 lb. raccoon, but was told in reality if anything it was probably a little mouse. The owner, who is actually named Marc really is honest AND funny, knowledgeable and quite reasonable for all the work he out in. I also noticed the big companies try to se installation packages and what not. None of that here. Maybe suggestions, but a lot of honest. Hence the name. read more

You're first clue as to how this business operates is that Honest "Abe's" name isn't Abe, it's Marc. Here is what happened to us: Marc estimated using 4 metal pest blocking pieces in front of a crawl space at $40 each. He said his installation of the pieces is expensive because he has special tools and he always runs into unknown difficulties when installing. So the total for the job would be $300. But after installing only 2.5 pieces and running into some difficulty he declared he was finished. His results were unsightly. He could have used his special tools to make proper cuts to the pieces but chose not to. My wife questioned him about a refund and he suggested $100. When I called a couple of days later to see how we could get the refund he told me he reconsidered and was not offering that anymore. There are plenty of other pest control people in the area who perform quality work. Seek them out please. read more

Saw a raccoon going into a hole in my attic. Received a text back 10 minutes after I called and it was 8:30 at night. Marc came out the next morning, inspected the whole attic and set traps. A $200+ bill and my problem wasn't solved. Granted, a previous exterminator failed also. The 2 parts of the attic where I have activity is blocked off from air conditioning machines and vents, and those parts are also additions with slanted roofs or totally open with no flooring and no way for a person to get in. What I wanted him to do was clear out all the old traps that a previous exterminator left up there many years ago and put down some new ones in strategic areas. He didn't. I also wanted him to go through the attic window and get some traps in the unreachable parts of the attic. He didn't do that either. He didn't even think about mice. He was hell bent on looking for holes where flying tree squirrels could get in and he drilled a bent piece of unsightly metal in my roof to block a hole he thought could be the problem. That didn't stop the activity in my attic. He followed up the next day and when I told him he didn't solve my problem he told me I should lay traps down in the attic. Well, I'm disabled, and that's why I called him. It was a complete waste of money. read more

Mark is fantastic. I called him at 2pm one day this week about a rodent problem (ended up being mice) and he arrived at my house less than an hour later and fully inspected all the floor of the house top to bottom. He was the most competitively priced as well, told me exactly what I needed to do and within a week our mice problem as improved and might be completely gone. He gave me his personal cell phone number and was available through text and phone calls (I would reach out with questions after he left) and always took time to explain thoroughly what to do next and listen to my concerns. I wanted to write a "Five Star" review for Honest Abe's Pest Control (Mark - owner). We had a problem with pesky squirrels that chewed a hole in our roof and decided to try and make a home for the winter! We contacted Mark on 1/26/2019 and he called back right away and within two hours he responded to our home and accessed the situation. After securing and closing up the not one but two holes we found in the roof near the gutter/eves, Mark also added a small trap to allow any squirrels that may have been still inside to escape (however the type of trap would not allow them to get back in! We monitored for any further noises from inside for a few days as Mark was in constant contact with us daily for an update (and thank God we had success!) .... The pesky squirrels were gone for good! I highly recommend Mark for anyone in need who has a problem with any type of pest(s). He is wonderful to work with, prompt, knowledgeable, reliable, and trustworthy....and Mark also has a great sense of humor to help lighten a stressful situation, and his rates are fantastic!!
