I am grateful for HomeTrust, James was very helpful with everything when my father passed away a few years ago. My father had setup his Living Trust with James many years ago and I had no knowledge of this just prior to his passing and do not know what entails in a Living Trust. As the successor trustee of the trust, it opened my eyes as to what it really does to protect the family's asset from probate and prying eyes to the family estate. Although he is not an attorney, his background is an LDA (Legal Document Assistant) and has rules, regulation and requirements to follow under California law. I recently had James do my will and trust documents, and I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Within a day of my request, James called me and we went over all the information he needed for my documents, then within just a few days he had completed the beautiful documents for my review, handled any edits and additional information I requested, then came to my home with his notary public to sign and make my documents official and legal, thus saving me from any difficult situations my loved ones would have otherwise encountered. He had everything organized in a beautiful binder and also on a thumb drive, so I could send the documents to my loved ones to keep safe. James is not an attorney - he is a Legal Document Specialist and has been handling wills and trusts for at least 25 years. His knowledge is incredible - he explained the process to me in simple terms so I could understand exactly what everything meant and make my decisions accordingly. I see absolutely no reason to go to an attorney (unless you're dealing with litigation and probate that could have been avoided!) and pay exorbitant fees for will and trust documents. In addition, unlike attorneys, he also gave me special forms he created for me to fill out at my convenience which will help my family understand my wishes and desires in the event of my illness and passing. He also made a video of me speaking to my daughter that she can watch when it is time. This was a very emotional thing to do, but such an amazing gift for her to have when needed! We were able to easily set up an appointment at our home, and he responded quickly by e-mail to any questions that we had. He sent the draft documents for our review soon after our initial appointment. He was so thorough, making sure that we considered many issues that no one had asked us about when we first set up our trust 12 years ago with an attorney. James is not an attorney, but rather an LDA. His services are much less expensive (as compared to an attorney), but we are confident in the high quality of his work. We were referred by friends to James Mariani, LDA. He came to our home, prepared documents, brought a notary & witness and recorded deeds and trust certification for us. He also did a video of us expressing our wishes in greater detail, hopefully making our wishes quite clear should any issues come up in the execution of the trust, etc. in the future. In addition he provided a thumb drive key fob, and email .pdf, so that all involved will have access to a copy.. While we knew that Mr. Mariani was not an attorney, my mother, nonetheless, decided to have him prepare her Living Trust in April of 1997. He did so easily and without a hitch. My mother just passed away in Nov.,2017 and now, more than 20 years later, I needed him to send me a copy of that trust. Here it is, New Years Eve, and that good man has already provided me with the documents I needed...and within the same day I requested it!
