Had a Dryer on the fritz after almost 9 years of service. Called Nebraska Home Appliance and scheduled them to work on the dryer, as well as check a drain hose on the washer. Our repair man, Mark, was very friendly and gave us a well worth it estimate for repairs. Could change the drain hose and the part for the dryer would be available the following Monday (it was friday that he came to give the estimate). Also besides replacing the drain hose, he noticed the tall drain the hose runs into appeared to be clogged and asked if we need a plumber referral. We rent, and he gave us an invoice that had great detail of what needed to be done. In addition, Mark also went as far as wearing booties over his shoes as to not track grime over the carpet. I would highly recommend Nebraska Home Appliance if there are repairs that are over your head, because they know you need something affordable and done in a timely manner, done right the first time. read more

Our washer was making an awful grinding noise and we had Nebraska Home Appliance come and take a look to see if it was worth trying to repair. I feel they gave us an honest opinion and estimate. Repairs would have cost $319.93 so we decided (and the technician recommended) to just buy a new one for only like $100.00 more so we would have a brand new machine.(Our machine is about 7 years old) We called on a Friday to set up an appointment and they were able to get someone out here by Tuesday. I was pleased with how quickly they were able to schedule service. I received an automated call saying the technician was finishing up the previous job and would be there shortly and he showed up soon after. What happened to Nebraska Home Appliance Repair? This was my go-to repair shop where I could rely on knowledgeable, experienced technicians. NO LONGER! On the last 3 service calls for 3 different appliances, only 1 was repaired. The 2 that were not repaired, both technicians had to call a 3rd party for advice while on site. The washer was a warranty call and needed an adjustment to the lid switch (according to the manufacturer) and tighten the back console which was loose. I could hear the NHA tech listening to a video in the laundry room and 2 men on the video talking and laughing. When he emerged his "fix" was to sand down the lid bumpers! Creative yes, but not the appropriate repair. When he left, the console was still loose. Then he presented me with a bill even though it was a warranty repair which may have been more a problem with the front office. The other appliance was a new refrigerator that has been spoiling food at a rapid rate and ice forming on food in the freezer. The GE warranty repair relied on the computer codes generated from the appliance for a diagnosis but these codes over time are overwritten and may not reflect the condition at the time the spoiling begins so relying only on these codes, no problem was identified. I wanted a second opinion and GE agreed to pay for some costs if I called NHA. I chose them because a previous NHA technician was very skilled at problem solving. Unfortunately he was no longer with them. I talked with the manager Ricco and asked that they send someone experienced in refrigeration who could think outside the box and not just perform a computer readout because GE had already done that. I further explained that we had food freeze in the refrigerator section but more often the opposite where milk is lukewarm. In the vegetable compartment droplets build up to the point where it puddles in the drawer. His "fix" was to drop the temperature in the refrigerator one degree! He showed me a history of when the door was left open suggesting this was the cause for the mold but as I told him these were either when I was cleaning and setting up the new refrigerator or during a GE repair visit. He ignored my comments. This visit was to dig deeper into possible causes that may be outside the scope of the computer readout. But he did nothing beyond reading the computer codes which had already been done by GE. I showed him pictures of carrots I divided between this refrigerator and an 18 year old refrigerator in our lower level. The carrots were decomposing in the new refrigerator but not the 18 year old refrigerator. He said it was because the new refrigerator has 2 evaporators?? He wanted to see the other refrigerator and took pictures of the inside without my permission. Who does that and for what reason? He took it upon himself to toss a moldy orange into the trash which was in the fruit bin and was my "proof" of the problem. An additional repair I requested was to calibrate the water dispenser which was inconsistent sometime overfilling, sometimes half full. He looked at it but ignored the repair. He said he would talk to NFM where we purchased the refrigerator and see if we could get it exchanged. I told him no, I was working with GE and I wanted this one fixed. I don't believe he had any intention of repairing this refrigerator, if he was even capable, because in talking with him during a follow-up phone call, he again indicated that he would pursue a warranty claim. I again reiterated that there is no warranty and that I was working with GE. I was billed for the visit even though the water dispenser was not repaired and he failed to identify the mold problem. I never received a copy of this invoice. I called Ricco to discuss this but he does not take my calls nor return them. I think NHA's focus is on expanding into new markets, hence, diluting their pool of quality technicians and subsequently lost the small company values that made them the "heroes". I would say for me it has been more of a "joker" experience. read more

We had Nebraska Home Appliance out to our home to service our ice maker back in November. They came out 3 times before they finally replaced it. It still never worked correctly and finally shattered and broke this May. When I called the company, the manager stated that they only guarantee the ice maker for 30 days. Good to know you may need to buy ice makers every month! This isn't the first issue we have had with this company. I have taken off work several times and left to be screwed out of a working ice maker! 0 stars! I'm sure you can get better customer service elsewhere! read more

My gas dryer quit heating up and since it was 19 years old we discussed buying vs repair. Finding a dealer can be a challenge and of course buying a new machine can be cost intensive. My wife wanted to try the repair route so that is the direction we took. We got NHA's name from a relative who was not overly happy with there service so we called them right away. (my wife was in charge of process). They set up an appointment for a day or so later and said they would be there between 1-4. We had a confirmation call the day b4 and then got a message on the appointment day that our service guy, Jake would be there soon, about 2:15. Jake showed up and was very nice and went about his work. WE knew that service call was to be $85 and that would then roll into cost for any repairs. The problem was an ignitor and the repairs were done in less than an hour. Total cost was $211, call, labor and part. Part was $20.00. Can't criticize the cost since I have no other point of reference. We got a 90 warranty on labor and parts. I used the machine later that day and it worked fine. However when I went down to check on the clothes the vent pipe had come off. I think that when he finished and repositioned the machine the pipe came loose. Again the vent had been in place for some time and the tape was just old. I can fix the vent with new HAVC tape. Overall the experience was good. At this point I would use them again. read more

So I dig through the layers of shell companies to find a phone number and the one star I gave them is someone actually answered the call but then admitted they didn't carry the part. So I asked why they show this part on their website for sale then!?! I do not normally write a negative review, but not having the curtesy to at least cancel my order immediately so I could go order from someone who ACTUALLY STOCKS THE PARTS THEY ARE SELLING would have been helpful so I could repair my refrigerator instead of thinking the part is surely on its way after four days.... I called this company the day my refrigerator stopped working. It was after hours and I left a message with the call center. The following day they called me back and I scheduled an appointment with this company. I work in Omaha and live in Plattsmouth. I asked the technician to give me a 30 minute warning and they put that in the job notes. The company also sends an email the day before the appointment to show you the picture of the technician and confirm your appointment. The technician arrived on time and did the job within a short amount of time. He also gave me a recommendation on how to help keep the refrigerator working for many more years. read more

Terrible company, would not recommend. Kyle was the most unprofessional serviceman I've ever had from any company and he could clearly not care any less about his job. He barely glanced at my fridge, announced it was the compressor and it would not be covered by warranty despite still being within the time limit, said it would be extremely expensive. He called LG, said nope it's not covered, then charged me the service fee PLUS TAX (which appears isn't even legal in this state if the company doesn't sell you a product as part of the service). He hadn't even heard of any of the compressors LG has listed on their product site. I called LG myself and they were confused why he would say that, immediately told me it was covered and were able to schedule a better company who quickly and easily completed the repairs -- all covered by warranty, by the way. I told LG everything that happened with Kyle and asked them to file a complaint against this company as they have them as someone licensed to do the repairs. The company who completed it even asked me why they wouldn't do it. I'm warning everyone to stay away from them; you should, too. read more

He took apart the machine quickly, diagnosed the problem within 15 min, and had the parts with him on the truck. He gave me a quote beforehand on the repair and completed it in short order. I don't have much to compare service prices with, but we had frank discussions on when is it best to repair a machine and when to buy a new one. Also which brands were best for future purchase. A Nebraska Home Appliance "Technician" came out and charged $101.00--what did he do? Well, he told me the dishwasher "control panel" was not working and, "Unfortunately they are not being made anymore and you can't get a replacement". No, you can't return any of the parts you already bought. (almost $300 worth) He suggested several other better made dishwashers. After he left the house and before he drove away I found several stores on the internet that would send me a new control panel for my dishwasher. He didn't put the cover of the dishwasher back on he didn't clean up the dirt and dust under the dishwasher. He did call later after I called his manager to tell me he found a part. The part he found was more expensive than the one I found. He could not install the one I found (from the manufacturer) because it wasn't "certified" He didn't know when he could install it because "Ebay is unpredictable"... If some appliance breaks down in your house, don't call Nebraska Home Appliance. If they treat you like they treated me they will charge you $101 to tell you your appliance is broken and can't be fixed. Spent the whole time searching for the part on his iPad and left charging me $95 to say it can't be fixed without the part, something he could have said over the phone saving me $95. I'm writing a review after two positive experiences with NHA. The first time, Todd helped me figure out what was wrong with my microwave. He shipped me the needed parts and explained what to do. It's working like new. Since then, my fridge stopped cooling. I gave Todd a call to get advice. He walked me through what could be wrong based on my description alone over the phone. He looked-up the schematics and helped me diagnose the issue. I ordered the needed parts, did the repair myself and was able to save the family Kenmore from ending-up in the dump. I would rate this company at zero stars if I could . The first technician came out to service my refrigerator and said I needed a new compressor and that everything would be covered my Samsung since it was still under warranty. He called into the company as I watched him and said everything would be covered. Meanwhile we waited an extra week for the parts since they came into the company damaged. The next Technician comes to replace the compressor and after he takes everything apart to replace the parts he says it will be $900 for his labor . I told him the first technician told me it was all covered and he said he the first technician was inexperienced and should have never come out . Wow. Then why send him . He proceeded to tell it will be very labor-intensive which took all of one hour. Now they left me waiting for parts for two weeks and a non working Fridge. Do you know anybody that charges $900 an hour for labor? I was not here when he arrived and started to work he called to tell me that was the price. I called the company the next day to ask what was the $900 charge was and she told me it was for my ice maker. Wow this gets better. That was covered and I called the technician that came out and he told me she did not know what she was talking about because she was new. Does anybody know what they're doing at this company?? I told him I wanted an itemized receipt because it showed me $900 for labor , he proceeded to tell me it was because he was a more licensed, experienced technician are you kidding me? He also made comments while he was in my house that technicians charge based on the persons home wow that's not shocking considering my home. I would never deal with company I'm gonna fight them until the end. What a JOKE to charge $900 for less than an hour of labor. He told me the manager will return my phone call yet they refuse to call me back. I have had my oven and washing machine fixed around the same time and will tell you this has never happened to me . Called about a freezer ice maker not working. The tech was on time for the first appointment. He diagnosed the problem and then even looked at a few other things to make sure they were not secondary causes. The part I needed to fix the issue was not in stock so it was ordered. The part took about 2 weeks to get in, and the second set of techs arrived on time. They quickly installed the part and checked to make sure everything was working properly.
