I would make sure you get him to state that the estament is the agreed amount and stipulate very clearly the exact work to be done. And order the parts needed your self Also stipulate if you expect a clean job done. He just finished a upgrade to my electrical. His first Bid he gave me. everything needed, material labor and permit was $900.00 total. Then when he found out that the person carring my home loan was cutting the check. Re re wrote the estament for 1550.00 . And submitted that estament to lender. Then sibmitted a final bill for 2150.00 to lender. Sean's reasoning for a 550.00 last minute expense not calculated was.. There was not a parts store here in Bayard so he had to drive all the way to Silver City. There's more... He disconnected both 220 lines that were exsistong. Spent the time and money to buy and install 2 new separate boxs, locked boxs. one for each 220 line. Where he tucked them away and out of inspectors site. And yes not connected. And in the new main box that he had to replace my other box with. Stating previously..that there was not enough room to add the 100 amp breaker required. Im my existing box which had apx 12 breakers Including the 2 220 lines. New box is huge. Yet he only hooked up 3. 20 amp breakers. Yes 3. 20 amp breakers. He also left ground wires exposed at both ends. When installing the new riser through the eav on my house. Where he removed the same size riser from. He cared less about how it looked or the added damage he done installing the new one or ripping out the old one. Then when I called to ask him if I could put on a elec hot water heater using one of my 220 . He informed me he did not reconnect either 220 line. Saying they were not grounded properly in my previous box. But for 350.00 more dollars he could re connect 1 of them. And would have to look at the second one to determine how much he would charge to connect it. I sware to God this is all true. I have all the pictures and communication. Should I have been able to find one prior to contacting Sean DeMarco owner of Hom Electric Services. I would not have hired him. There is a National Average list of repairs and what they should cost provided by Nation Wide Contractors information licensing and code website that I found since, that can be found with simple google serch. Parts and labor and permit for a 100 amp electrical upgrade. For all 52 states is between 850.00 and 1,150.00 Sean charged in our rule community twice what the national average is. read more
