Homeslice drags along its own wood-fired pizza oven! How cool is that? Definitely what I want for Christmas this year, me thinks. But that's really all you need to know to get your butt out the door and over to wherever they are slinging dough and get yourself a slice of pizza heaven.
Sold by the slice or full pie, Homeslice's...well, slices...are just plain delicious. The base is ultra thin and has a light airy texture yet packs plenty of taste. Somehow it manages to hold together and support the fairly high quantity of quality toppings on offer.
I opted for the Chorizo and Rocket which was excellent. Sharp spicy chorizo and peppery crunchy rocket were married by some rich full bodied tomato sauce and a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. The flavours pack a punch and this is no slice for the weak of heart or stomach. The slice reminded me of NY style pizza (although nowhere near as oily) where you have to fold your slice in order to eat it. My friend, Pam T, got the Artichoke and Zucchini slice (being the vegetarian that she mostly is) and was an instant fan.
Overall, for £3, it's a great start to any meal but I reckon you'll need at least half a pie before you start to feel full. Still, it's my new favourite starter to an Eat St feast!
