When the weather is nice, who wants to eat indoors? Last Friday I thought it would be good to visit the Southbank market - really intending to go to Korrito. As I walked over the bridge I noticed another set of stalls - ooh Kerb street market! I rarely get to make it to their markets since they are usually placed either north or east.
After first having a look at all the stalls, Kimchinary caught my eye. I wanted a Korean burrito anyway so might as well try something new. I ordered the Oxcheek burrito and took a seat just a few meters away.. So good! Compared to Korrito, I loved that they toasted the tortilla so it stayed together a lot better. Korritos can get a little messy when you bite into it. Best part is that they used some proper kimchi! Next best thing - the chunks of beef which doesn't fully remind me of bulgogi but still really good.
Another major plus for Kimchiary- sometimes market stalls really frustrate me because the wait is really long unnecessarily but Kimchinary had a streamlined process. You queue, pay, take a number and step aside.
Really, this is as good as it gets! read more
