There is a collection you should check out. Crafting? Creating? Building? So many great ideas!! Now I have a burning desire to figure out what to do with the circular 1m diffusion covers for light fixtures. Cold Frame? Hmmmm. The folks here are super friendly & always helpful. And on, and on. The fellow who owns the place is super friendly and great to talk to. It would be a miss if I didn't mention Murphy, the adorable store dog who wanders around like he owns the place. I secretly think he does. Make sure to say hi to him while you're there. It's worth stopping in here every month or so, because their stock changes regularly and you never know what you'll find! We hired the Ceiling Centre to do a large basement job, which included a replacement drop ceiling…read morewith soundproofing insulation in a 20' x 40' long room, plus a bedroom; new pot lights throughout, and the addition of dimmable light switches at each end of the rec room and separate dimmable for the attached bedroom. For starters, it was supposed to take one week and it's been over two months with the last electrical issue unresolved, and the refusal of the Ceiling Centre to resolve it. There are so many complaints; I don't even know where to start. The installer started in the bedroom and broke a water pipe which caused a flood. The contractor did not even call it in and tried to hide it, but our renter informed us. It took over 48 hours with a fan on full blast to dry out the carpet. In the main rec room, the same guy covered up a heating vent leaving one whole side of the basement cold. He forgot to do the bulkheads and left an open pipe exposed. We urged the Ceiling Centre to send more competent people which they finally did after three weeks. The electrician was completely unprofessional and incompetent. He removed our two walls sconces at our request and said he loved them and wanted to trade us for two contemporary ones he had in his home. We accepted the trade, but he just took ours and said his wife did not want to part with theirs. He did return ours after we got the Ceiling Centre involved. He was scheduled to come at a certain time, but could not make it as he forgot his tools, and on another occasion he had to come back because he did not have enough wire. We agreed he would meet at 5pm but he phoned last minute and wanted to come at 7 pm after his dinner. On another occasion, he actually brought his young child to the job. He also forgot simple things like putting the cover on the light switch. He told us the type of dimmers he would use, but failed to hook them up arguing for over 10 minutes that it could not be done. Finally, he said it could be done with more expensive dimmers. Lastly, on the triple switch outside the bedroom, he advised us he would make one switch control the office space, one switch to control the main room and the third switch to control the bedroom. He said he would make it so that this switch was supposed to toggle on /off with the bedroom light so that you could turn the light on in the bedroom and off when you passed through the room to the connecting rec room and vice versa. However, we ended up getting a switch that is just a cut-off switch and cannot be turned back on from the rec room. You either have to walk through a dark room or go all the way around the entire basement to the other side. During this piece of work, he brought an apprentice, and gambled on his phone while the fellow worked. The ceiling centre refused to send someone more competent or to send the electrician back a fourth time to fix this because they said it was not listed on the work order. They discounted the bill by $400 as the job took so long but we still have unresolved electrical headache. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
