HomeGood was a unique store because it featured items from various cultures, with signs indicating their origins. The store also offered snacks and hard-to-find items. There was a restroom and nearby food options, so you could easily spend a long time shopping. During my visit, I was able to purchase a gingerbread-themed item and a banana-themed item. One improvement that could be made is how the store handles damaged items. Instead of putting them together with the regular items, they could be priced at 1 cents and placed in a separate section if there is sufficient storage space. They do have parking lot. I would definitely consider visiting other HomeGoods stores in the future, as there are many locations. read more

Ok, always seen this place just never thought about going in, I first visited home goods in Florida about a week ago and to my surprise the prices were absolutely amazing. It's a one stop shop, so couldn't wait to get back to NYC to go in, which to my surprise the prices was still great, purchased a couple things. Didn't actually went to shop, want to browse through. But I got two rugs and a cutting board with some other stuff. Give four stars, because of the mess, it's totally disorganized things are all over the place. I get it we as customers who makes the mess and needs to be better at putting things back in place if they changed their minds. But also the manager or who ever is in charge and do better of up keeping the store. read more

Oh how I love me some Home Goods. Under the parent company Home Goods is the elder more mature sibling to Marshalls and TJ Maxx. To me while some of the basic products such as your shower curtains, table cloths etc are the same brands (Tahari, Rachel Roy etc) the quality in Home Goods is better. I have an obsession with Anthropologie but the home items are quite expensive. Sometimes waiting for a sale isn't an option. Usually I take a pic of what I see there and bring it with me to Home Goods to find a replica. This store in particular isn't as well stocked as I'd like. To me the Rockville Center and the Flatbush location carry better items. On a number of occasions I've gone hunting and came up empty handed. Staffing isn't the best in any of these stores in terms of finding folks on the floor to actually assist but I have never felt like waiting to cash out was painful. Plan to spend at least an hr if you're looking for times for a big project. Here's what they do well: they have loads of cushions at every price point. Take your pick. They also have tons of bedding, mats/rugs, bathroom sets, kitchen accessories and the every day knick knacks from honey and tea to chips and gift times such as journals and candles. My recommendation is that this is the ideal place to come to finish a room makeover project. Come with the basic plan in mind as opposed to specific items and build the room by taking your time to hunt for pieces that you can work with. I'd say shop at a Home Goods not far from one of its sibling stores so what you don't find here you can try your luck at the others. I also suggest checking the furniture areas for items that may be slightly damaged but can be repurposed. I found a table that was very expensive with a tiny chip, got it for $7. I currently use it as a plant stand with the chip hidden. No big deal. Things like that to me add character. read more

Experience: I came here to buy a gift card. I ended up standing on the line for about 35-40 minutes. I checked my Yelp check-in and couldn't believe it had been that long. The line of people in front of me couldn't have been more than 15 people when I walked in. The store isn't as big as I expected. I did shop around before getting on line, but didn't find anything. Their special food section is a lot like one you'd find at TJ Maxx. There are some pretty big mirrors in the back. Other than that, the aisles are very small. This elderly lady asked me to move a cart that wasn't mine because she couldn't get through with her cart. That's how small the aisles are. Two carts cannot pass at the same time. The store could use some reorganizing. The gift card section had some very scratched up cards. Not something you'd want to present to someone as a gift. The cards were also off-season. I went in February and there were still Christmas cards there. The cashier worked quickly when I got up there. She wasn't very pleasant, but she did work fast. There's lots of parking outside. I've been a fan. I am a fan! Ever since my yelp-mate Tons told me about HomeGoods, and after being shuttled around to other locations by another friend me likey! New kid on the block. Located in the spanking new Green Acres Commons (oh we fancy huh), it's ideally located to become my new bestie! This branch is smaller in comparison to others I've visited, but by no means carry less affordable and beautiful accessories for your home. The trees, THE TREES, artificial of course but so lifelike! .............. I'm very much afraid of spending all my responsibility (bills) cash here because wouldn't these throw pillows accentuate that rug nicely and oh those posturepedic pillows are a MustHave for my neck and that bathroom mat is to die for but it won't look good on its own oh NO I MUST have that shower curtain and the candles will finish it off so nicely but wait I NEED that knife in my kitchen! WITH THAT CUTTING BOARD BUT AMMMmmmm I don't cook!....tiring in here. You've been warned, come here with ONLY the cash you want to spend, leave those cards at home oh wait STORE CARD you ask? While the store is clean, the carts are not. I'm not referring to the handles. The actual basket section needs scrubbing. Customers put their dogs in there & then I am expected to place my clean items & food items in the same space. POOR HYGIENE! Furthermore, yesterday there was a huge, poorly behaved dog in the College Point store. Pet owners are not the only people who have rights. I have the right to shop in z safe environment. read more

My all time favorite store, ever! I usually frequent the home goods in RVC but I was ecstatic when I seen they opened one practically in my backyard. It's always a pleasure coming here. I almost never leave empty handed. I always find a gem that's 1 of 1. My whole apartment looks beautiful because of my random shopping rendezvous at Home Goods. Painful experience waiting in line for way too long. Very busy Saturday, so I understand a reasonable delay, but there were only three cashiers working. In addition, this is the norm at this particular location. The store itself is fine, no better or worse than most Home Goods stores. I would recommend people to never come to this Homegoods store. It's worth it to take some time to travel to a different location because this one truly isn't good. I would recommend you don't use the restrooms because they're absolutely repulsive. They're empty juice bottles and tissues scattered across the floor and there wasn't any tissue. In the store, the items are disorganized and their items aren't as nice as in other Homegoods stores. I asked an employee about where the find a certain item and they weren't helpful at all. Great location with plenty of parking space but customer service was lacking today. As I was walking with my son and niece through different isles in the store, I was on two different occasion greeted with snide remarks by two different clerks when my son and niece grabbed the toy off the shelve to explore it. These two interactions left complete distaste in my mouth. I came to Green Acres Mall to shop specifically in HomeGoods for toys for them and was unable to do so, complete waste of my time. This place is so chaotic. Everything was disorganized and all over the place. I saw one person that work there and she was working hard on fixing a display so she could barely answer all the questions she was being asked by the customers. There seem to be no order whatsoever. All I wanted to get was some candles. After looking through their large selection I headed back up to the front of the store and saw that the line was insane. I gently put down my candles and walk right back to my car. I think I'll visit another HomeGoods location next time. read more

Periodically Home goods invites its shoppers to an early access event. Customer are given coffee and donuts and special gift for attending. I have attended each event since the Valley Stream opened it doors. Each event seems to get worse every time I attend. The store is never prepared for the event, it has items on large carts through out the store, making it impossible to shop. The sales people sweep over your feet and look at you as if your in their way. You would think because of this one time event the store would be clean in order to greet their customers. The last event I attended was so ill prepared, they served only coffee and I had to ask about the drawing for the gift card. The ballets where behind the counter only for those who asked about it. When I asked why are they not placed out on the table the cashier and manager said if you win you will be mailed a card. I found this to be very unusual. In the past they're always placed on the table and you place it in a box. Why would you not allow every customer that attended to participate in the drawing. I felt like they where holding them back intentionally. This particular Home Goods does not appreciate the fact its customer have arrived early to participate in the event and doesn't care if you come out or not. Don't waste your time coming out, you will be greatly disappointed. read more
