Incompetence. I had an auto loan with them that I paid off. I had a remaining amount left over after it was paid off that I continued to receive statements for. I eventually buckled and contacted them about what it would take to close the account and have the balance sent to me. I was told that I could send a signed letter asking for the account to be closed and I would receive a cashiers check. 6 months later I was STILL receiving the statements and never saw a cent. I reached out again and was told that a letter was not an approved means of closing an account and that I'd have to sign in online. I could not remember my account name and despite providing them with all of my personal information they refused to give it to me. I was then told that the only means of closing the account was to come into a branch. I sent the person who had been my co-signer into the branch to close it, and the associate told them that a letter was absolutely an acceptable avenue to close an account. Today I went up to the window to to put a check in my account. The lady at the window would not put my check in my account because it had "Cash" in the name field. So I went in to the teller counter. Where a guy was so considered about the fact that is said "Cash" in the names field that when he put my check in he put it in $500 dollars under what it was made out for. I was on hold for 15 minutes where they apologized for human error and that the 7 looked like a 2......... the check it self had it spelled out for him to see what the check was for. This was at 10:36am still waiting for my check to be given to me at the right amount. Update: by 1pm the difference was in my account. But on email/call about the problem being solved. read more

The worst place to put you money. Condescending attitude. It takes 5 days for a transfer between linked accounts? Why link accounts then? Causing problems with balances, quick to impose fees when it should not take a week for linked accounts to transfer money. Didnt care, poor customer service. Will be moving my accounts. These nasty, money hunger people sent me to collections during a pandemic!! My car totaled back in December 2019 and I owed them two payments. I've been out of work since March and these MF didn't even think to try to work something out. They added an another $600+ on top of the $1000 I owed. My husband suffered from COVID-19 and owe over $25,000 to hospitals and doctors! Fort Lee Credit Union showed NO remorse for anything that's going on!!! Direct deposit will go pending for two days , doesnt update your balance of transaction of which you make payments with your debit card online ,you can not raise the limit of money you zelle to somebody i think its 1000$ limit each day every time you use your card it doesn't show how much the transaction was they need to upgrade the mobile banking app like asap you have to call them 2 weeks in advance to withdraw 4000$ or more i wish i could rate this with no stars im closing my account monday morning!!!!!!!!! read more

My friend made me beneficiary of his life insurance policy. I want to give the proceeds to his mother. I signed the check from the insurance company, had her sign it, got her deposit slip, and sat in line for over 30 minutes. Not complaining about the wait because they're busy, but they wouldn't let me deposit AN INSURANCE COMPANY CHECK into her account because it is a "third party check". They had my ID that matched the check. They had both of our signatures on the check. They had her deposit slip. They would probably put a hold on it anyway because of the size of the check. But no, letting me deposit it would be too much like actual customer service, so I have to deposit it at my bank, wait for all of it to clear there, get a cashier's check, then go wait in line for another 30 minutes to deposit it. I thought credit unions were supposed to be more user-friendly than banks, but apparently not Fort Lee Credit Union. Their employees are probably okay though not overly helpful, but the credit union itself gets one star from me. read more

Last year I ran over $250 thousand dollars through Suntrust Bank and they couldn't even remember my name when I came in. Then when I looked to get a line of credit for business expansion they placed me on the "sorry" list... I walked into FLFC and within 20 minutes had the line of credit! Richard was understanding, knowledgeable and best of all saw me as an individual with individual needs, not just a number. Everyone in the place was friendly and attentive from the moment I walked in. I was a member of FLCU for 2 years. It was my secondary account but was looking to do more business with the CU (loans) etc. until the bad business move that was shown to me last week. On the mobile app the communication for the Checking/Savings accounts are worded Share/Prime (I believe). I was always confused as to which one was which. I had my main account (with another bank) hacked so was unable to use the debit card right during everyone's Christmas break (bank closed). While out to eat with my family from out of town, I checked my balance on the app. and unknowingly transferred the money into the wrong account because of the unusual terminology, and used the card. During the long weekend, I used the card a few times confidently, knowing what my balance was and unknowingly racked up $200 in overdraft fees. I went to the bank as soon as it opened on the first day after the holiday and explained my situation entirely and was refunded $150. I respectfully told the woman at the desk that I would close the account because I didn't believe that was fair treatment, and she excitedly said "OK" and it was done. It felt more like I was wishing her a good day then letting her know that a "member" of 2 years was going to be closing an account. I guess they thought the $50 was more important than this member of their bank. I have since opened an account at Navy Credit Union and it has numerous better programs and you even receive your debit card from day one. read more

I started a joint account for my son and I so he could direct deposit and I could cash checks from work . From the start of our account they have been super courteous and helpful . The other day and asked for a large sum of money all in 1$ bills and the teller patiently counted out all of them to me. I love this bank and the people who work there !! read more

"I've been using on line banking with the Fort Lee Federal Credit Union for years and until recently, I've been satisfied and liked the services they provided. However, the Fort Lee Federal Credit Union implemented a new On Line Banking systems and I have not been able to use it. I have followed all the directions provided on their website to access my account and I have not been able to log into the system. They provide two telephone numbers for anyone having trouble and I did call both numbers. However, when I called the numbers for assistance, I was put on hold for at least 30 minutes before I gave up on getting any help. I have not been able to access my accounts on line now for over a month. Their customer service in this area has been a total failure." read more
