Two double beds with curtain to separate (if needed)
    Amy H.

Just happened to come across this place as I'm making my way down the road, & very happy that I did! There are many places to eat close by before settling down into this BIG clean room. The hot breakfast was a nice surprise & great way to start the day of more driving. My fave was the egg & cheese omelets! Really friendly & helpful staff. I will def stay here again for future trips!

Pillow from home2suites in Cullman Alabama

Stayed here 6/11/24, woke up the next morning & while checking out bed, we found foundation on the bottom side of one pillow& mascara on the bottom side of the other pillow. Plus small stain on the blanket. Took pics & showed staff. Manager claimed they would check the room & call us back. Note: we stay on Hiltons & Marriott all the time always check everything upon entering the room. We failed to do so this time because we spent the entire day in 90 degree heat at the water park. So we accept our mistake of not following our usual protocol. My niece called the hotel back after we checked out to see if they found the problem that we reported. The person that answered the phone was Very nasty to her, claimed we were those type of people that destroyed hotel rooms & wanted refunds. We Never asked for a refund. We accepted our mistake of not checking the room before crawling into the bed passing out from exhaustion. I take it because we are black people, oh I'm Hilton honors as well, that reported an issue Afterwards, instead before, we are less than & liars. The person that spoke to my niece, called us liars & Said you're not getting a refund. We never asked for one. Her behavior, nasty comments & openness of calling us liars, speaks volumes about the home2suites in Cullman Alabama. Dark skinned people, please be forewarned & be diligent if you use this hotel. Please take pictures when you enter the hotel, the room & when you leave. They could have easily rewound the video & saw no makeup on any of us but instead they treated us like complete trash. Also I worked as a night auditor for Hilton, over 20 years ago. Hilton never allowed any employees to treat clients this way, boy have things changed.

Trying to plug my electronics into the wall outlets was disappointing because the sockets were loose and my plugins were not in tight. My side of the bed only had one plugin that I needed to use for my sleep machine. My iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch all had to be plugged into different outlets scattered about the room. The Hampton Inn and Suites we stayed at in Effingham had a good size mini fridge and ample plug-ins on my side of the bed so I could keep everything at my fingertips. I had brought an extension charger but didn't need it so packed it away before coming to Cullman where I could have used it. My biggest complaint is the beds use to be so comfortable with feather light fluffy comforters. That is not the case anymore. Almost feels like Hilton has downgraded their Hampton Inns, which use to be my fav lace to stay world-wide but I'm thinking I need to check out some other brands. The room is clean but don't feel like I would want to walk on the carpet barefoot.

Plus there was mold in the shower. Will stay elsewhere next trip.

Being right in downtown makes it easy to step out for dinner, coffee, or a quick wander, while still driving out to explore the rest of the area. It feels central, intentional, and elevated without trying too hard. The suite is where it really shines. It has the polish of a boutique hotel but the space of an Airbnb. Separate living area, king bed that feels indulgent, private balcony, and design details that actually feel curated. Plush robes, premium bath products, Dyson hairdryer, stocked minibar, a mini refrigerator AND freezer, two oversized smart TVs, fast WiFi. Nothing feels like an afterthought. And I have to mention the Nespresso machine. Not a Keurig. A Nespresso. Morning coffee felt like a ritual, not a compromise. Dinner downstairs at Jubilee Kitchen and Bar made the stay even better, and we absolutely visited Seven Daughters Scoops more than once. If you have been waiting for a sign to book a weekend in Cullman, this is it.

Looked around and the beds had dog hair and flea excrement all over them, sheets were obviously dirty. (I have pics) There were 2 men sitting in a car outside our room that appeared homeless and several people hanging out (at midnight) just outside the room. Didn't even bring our bags in. Asked to cancel, they said to call the manager, I called corporate number, said it would be refunded in 3-5 days. 7 days later no refund. called corporate, given a case # was told it was canceled and should receive credit back on card in 3-5 days. It is 10/25, no refund. He has resorted to sending me texts now, so unprofessional and he agreed to give me a refund if I removed reviews and give him 5 stars. Reviews should have an option of ZERO stars. This is LITERALLY a flea bag hotel and the owner is unethical. At this point I'll pay a lawyer 1000 to get my $101 back. I don't recommend any Best westerns at this point because corporate doesn't back the customers but instead has told me the hotel itself has to give me the refund.

Why did this property lose two stars? 1, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've slept in in years. You'd think that a newer property would have newer mattresses. This one had no cushioning. It wasn't a firm mattress, it was just awful. 2. The bathroom didn't vent. After an average length shower with not too hot water, there was standing water on every surface in the bathroom. The floor was slippery and so was everything else. I would not choose to stay here again but it wasn't horrible.

But today's the day that it's come to that. The property is BEAUTIFUL, very nice and updated and smells wonderful. Front desk staff was curt and impersonable, but got the job done and sent me on my way, so whatever. Room was not clean sadly. Brown stains on shower curtain, pubic hair (plural) on the wall, and a dirty rag hanging on the shower rod. People were blaring loud music, running up and down the halls, and slamming doors until 12:30 AM. I usually love a Continental breakfast (I mean free breakfast? What could be better?) but this was probably the worst I've had. The bacon was translucent and seemed barely cooked... kinda a health hazard. Overall I just don't feel that this hotel lives up to the Marriott standard that I hope to see when I travel, as I do often. Will not stay again and encourage others to do the same.
