Ok so my husband and I disagree on the number of stars for this review. Lol. He says 3, I say 4. We road trip a lot to escape the responsibility of parenting and I always look for the cheapest hotels with good reviews. I limit $ spent per day and would rather go have fun with my cash. We went through hotels.com and paid $52 a night. $58 after tax which was good. The place was out dated with nothing fancy BUT it was clean! That is my important detail. Cheap, Clean, hot water, no bugs, pool, and breakfast. Water was hot, bathtub was shallow which was fine but stopper didn't work. No bugs. Too early for the pool to be open. Breakfast was good. Kids said the danishes were good. We were there early in the morning. Not sure if they kept it filled. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Husband said out dated and no exhaust fan in the bathroom is why he rated 3 stars. We will stay here again in June. read more

Toxic fumes in rooms! Tried to get a refund but told us we had to go through the booking company. Two other guests were having the same issue while we were there! Drive up the highway and find somewhere else to stay even if it is more money!!! Can't go wrong with Holiday Inn Express ... it's worth it! read more

I will not give this property even 1 star. It is HORRIBLE! Filthy dirty, STINKS. Hasn't had any maintenance in years. Our room was 102. Room stunk and nothing helped. Linens were paper thin, stained and disgusting. The bed frame was a metal platform that sounded like kicking a metal drum every time you moved. Room hadn't been painted in many years. Bathroom had rust everywhere as well as dead bugs and dried snot wiped all over the walls. Don't believe the pictures posted on the website. Run don't walk away! read more

This place is terrible. As we walked in our room we got hit by unhinged cigarette smell. I wanted to talk with Jesus tonight because I was real happy to see a bible. As I pick up the bible I feel the stickiest, nastiest, unhinged sticky substance. I forgot my charger so I made my dad go get it out of the car and as a he was walking down a cop pulls up on the side of the building. Also I saw a roach in the bathroom. We were up all night because our neighbors could not stop yapping(talking). But we did eventually go to sleep. We got up and went and ate breakfast. The breakfast was pretty good nothing bad to say about it. Anyways dont go here. read more

Decent hotel for the price! All we needed was a room to sleep in. The younger gentleman at the front desk was super kind. I will say that the hotel is in need of major updates. I also asked for an extra towel and was told I had to wait until 8:30 when the housekeepers got there. the problem was, we were leaving before 830 so I just had to air dry lol read more

Disgusting. Starting with the smoking front desk attendant, this dump only got worse. The lady at the front desk was exceptionally rude, and that's the nicest thing I can say about this place. Find any other spot within a 60 mile radius and you'd be hard pressed to find anything worse than this place. Awful. Awful. Awful. read more

When we open the door to our room there was a woman and small child in it.Scared the crap out of everyone involved.Seems it was computer error.Staff did not seemed concered.That should have been when we left,but we were tired.Blankets and sheets had holes and stains.Tub and shower curtain was dirty and molded.Good hot water and pressure,bed was comfortable,mattress was clean.The free breakfast was good.The only other thing which is not hotel's fault was city has a project going on next door and was at it all night with big equipment.Could use more outside lighting.If you just want a place to stay for night its ok. read more

The experience was unrealistic, like out of a Bad movie... Wall paper coming off the wall; Appliances did not work; fridge did not work; Lights were unplugged; room smelled like damp rug; bed sheets were stained; bathroom tub was clogged; towels were ripped and stained; floor was dirty; there was trash and wrappers in the corners of the room and behind the furniture; there was urine splatter all over the top of the toilet seat, and there were flys and ants in the room. Pretty much the only thing that worked was the sink. To top it off, there was a domestic violence dispute, in the room next door, where someone was slammed against the adjoining door with my room. This event resulted in police presence and arrest. While the facility conditions need much improvement, the staff was friendly, seemed genuinely concerned, and tried to be accommodating considering the circumstances. 5 stars for the staff. read more

This has to be one of the most disappointing Day's Inns I ever stayed at. Door to check in was locked at like 9pm doesn't make you feel very safe as a guest. We had a reservation for a non smoking room when we arrived at our room the stink of cigarette smoke was horrible and the smoke detector was covered by a wash cloth. Guess when staff doing through cleaning the miss that? Went back to desk and told him need room change then had to park and walk forever. The big thing here is the want to copy your drivers license which he did till I called him out on it. They claim it hotel policy but I've never found that before. Staying all over the world and in 42 different states. Told him copying us government ID is against federal law so they ground mine in front of me. Breakfast was ok with biscuits and sausage gravy but eggs or couple other chooses would be nice. Think about it first. I stayed because of rating don't know where these others are from read more

Staff were friendly and accommodating, but the room was dirty! There appeared to be mouse dropping or bugs when I pulled the sheets back. They quickly moved me to another room but it was still dirty. There were small blood droplets that looked smeared on the bathroom tile floor. Needless to say, I took my travel pillow out of my car to use and I never let my feet touch the carpet or tile without my shoes on. I refused to use the shower. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. This place should be condemned, torn down and a good hotel, like the ones at the next Northern Cullman exit, should be built. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the people ahead of me complaining about dirty line a should have been my sign. Since I pre-purchased through Kayak and my husband was sick we just needed to get to bed, but I regret not bailing on it now. Pros: Location and working AC, I guess the tv could be seen as a pro since it was relatively new and the remote wasn't bolted to the nightstand. Cons: Everything else - no batteries in the smoke detector, room reeked of smoke, barely could get hot water, not that it mattered, the shower head was so moldy there was no way I was taking one. The fridge, which could have been a pro, was disgusting. Just no, pass, run, don't pass go, don't collect $200, just go an exit up and stay at a hotel that cares about keeping the country safe from airborne viruses. read more

I booked this hotel for a weekend against better judgement, but it was close to where I needed to be. I had a change of plans and had to cancel. I called OVER 48 hours before check in. I politely said I'd like to cancel a reservation, the woman at the hotel chuckled a little and said when's it for? I told her and she said "it's too late." I replied that their cancellation policy says I can. She said, yeah well my boss says you can't. I then asked her which card I had on file, she replied with a literal huff and asked me my name. After verifying my information she did tell me which card it was, I then called my bank. Rude customer service with what seems to be terrible management at a sketchy looking run down hotel. BEWARE of crazy absurd price gouging for RTS also. Definitely do yourself a favor and drive on up to Decatur!! read more

Absolutely disgusting. There was also no toilet paper and no towels in our room. The fitted sheet was inside out. I don't think the room was cleaned at all. The tile was slimy and the carpet wasn't vacuumed. After complaining to the management they said they are short staffed on housekeepers. I can understand run down/old but unclean is where I draw the line. read more

Pictures do not show actual condition of room. Check in was easy. Staff friendly. Parking plenty. Room was DISGUSTING. We pulled down the "comforter" and their was dried blood on the fitted sheet. Clearly the sheet was never washed after last use (this coming from a RN who knows the difference). There was an accumulation of dust and dirt between the headboard and mattress. NO NO NO. We pulled up to a pitch black parking lot, then entered a "lobby" with bank teller glass windows for checking in. Walked up stairs to our outdoor room, passing tons of people just hanging on the balconies and by the pool, being loud, smoking and drinking. We figured as long as we stayed inside our room, all would be well....but sadly that was hardly the case. The floors were covered in stains, furniture very outdated and dingy, AC took 3 tries to even turn on, pillow cases and sheets were stained and the bathroom floor had dirt (mold?) all along the floor. A total of 10 minutes spent at this hotel is enough for us to NEVER come back. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $20 to stay at a hotel two exits away. read more

The room was nasty and hair was on beds and around beds. Also we could hear TVs and people talking around us. We checked in and then went to my sister's apt. We got back around 4 hours later and found all of this. We talked to office and they said they would not refund the room because we had it for a few hours. We asked for management and they wouldn't talk to us and we asked for Corporate office number and they wouldn't provide useful with it. We asked about going through booking.com and get it refunded and they said that they would say we had been there and not said anything about it until 4 and half hours later. Worst hotel ever!! I have never seen a room as dirty as this one! Cleaning personnel (if there are any) most only have a single path through the room. Needed to plug in an electronic device and could hardly get to the outlet for the dust. We stayed because we were desperate. Beds seemed clean enough. Not much heat. BEWARE BEDBUGS !!!!! Informed hotel and corporate of problem they stated they had 7 days to resolve problem.. Meanwhile the next guests will be bitten up... Cooperate unsympathetic to case. Son had to go to doctors for treatment, has been stratching like a dog with fleas for a week. His body covered in welts from bites. Deplorable! By far, the filthiest motel rooms I've seen. Rented two rooms and both were gross! Toilet lid was up as if it had been cleaned, but pee drips on the top when put down. Dirty bed sheets, gum stuck on wall and headboard, gnats flying around, dirty floors and trash under the beds. See also picture of a cockroach crawling on the vanity top next to a pubic hair that I saw while brushing my teeth the next morning. Adjoining room doors not secured from both sides. One room gets the deadbolt and the other room a latch as on a bathroom stall door that doesn't line up and cannot be secured-and looks like it's been pried open a few times. Outside of motel dirty as well. We rented on a holiday weekend, it was all that was available in the area, had been on the road for 13 hrs, and felt very stuck. In hindsight, wished we would have left and slept in our vehicle. No one felt comfortable showering, eating their breakfast, or bringing our own pillows back home. Threw them all away out of fear of possible bed bugs. Other reviewers have mentioned some rooms have them, and I would not doubt it. Regrets all around, should have left that same night!!!! read more

This place is so nasty. I don't think the rooms have been clean in at least 6 months. They said they were non-smoking but the room were smoking room and we had 2 young kids..that is a health problem. We had been driving for so long we had to stop and all other hotels had been booked and full. Safe to say I'm just happy we made it through the night! I decently will not be back EVER! read more

We got it thru Priceline.com via express deal without knowing the name of the hotel. This was the cheapest option and we did not want to spend money since we are traveling from Florida to Wisconsin and it was quick stop. For the money that we paid we were very surprised that the room was clean and they had great free breakfast. I wish I could rate a negative number. We arrived in our room and I kicked off my shoes only to find that the carpet was damp. I walked to the towels and grabbed a washcloth to wipe off my feet and discovered the moisture on my feet (whatever it was) was a filthy black substance and the smell of mildew permeated the rooms. We had adjoining rooms for ourselves and our sons and we all slept in our clothes, in fear of letting the linens come in contact with our skin. We left at first light. After a ten day trip in many different hotels, this was the only one that didn't ask us to answer a survey and/or rate them online. Wonder why. Don't risk your health. For the two rooms we had, at least, this place was a sewer. The lobby and public areas didn't seem any worse than an average inexpensive motel in that area. Disgusting! Woke up by a cockroach on my stomach! The manager sent me $10 in the mail for my troubles. Do not stay here!!

The room reeked of smoke, bathroom was dirty with hair, phone didn't work so had to use a cell to call front desk. Cigarette burn on microwave. The tv channel listings were wrong. The only ice machine was so far away and you had to go to the front desk to get an ice bucket which was on the opposite side of the hotel. Red paint splattered randomly on the walls. I am just glad there wasn't a chalk out line on the floor. That and a hypodermic needle would have made the perfect finishing touches to this room.
