I did not read any reviews until we were about to leave for our dinner. There were no good reviews and I was thinking that could not possibly be fair. Well I was wrong - all of these reviews are right on point. You are barely greeted in a friendly manner which really surprised me since they sound so welcoming online. We were not even told what the process was so we had to find someone to ask. Then we get in line for food and it was a challenge to identify each meat item except the meatloaf which was obvious. There was no roast as listed on the menu, no salad bar (just paper bowl with lettuce and a tomato), and no creamed corn or sweet potato casserole. I will say one of the serving ladies was very generous with her portions while the others were much more conservative. But then came the dessert options - which were listed on the menu as: Assorted pies, cakes, and banana pudding. The only options were something that looked like pumpkin pie and pecan pie - the "pumpkin" pie was NOT pumpkin and I am not sure what it was. But when I asked for banana pudding they said they were not serving that - what the heck?? So we sit down to eat and there was nothing on my plate that was good at all. I am not sure where the food came from, but nothing was freshly made or even close to homemade. I am not that picky so I was really surprised I did not like anything. So with that there was no saving the review since I really only went for the banana pudding. :) Thankful it was fairly cheap - $25/pp. We were out of there in just over 30 minutes - how sad is that.....

The wedding was outside in the garden looking area. It is a really nice space . Where I was sitting made it difficult to hear due to the running fountain. There was an isolated fountain out front that wasn't really appealing. I think the time should have been taken to clean it since it's one of the first things you see. The simple decor was really nice. I liked that the reception venue was on the property as well. The venue was very spacious. My only complaint would be the lack of lights , which made it very difficult to see at night . Otherwise, this is a nice venue to have a wedding or special ceremony.

Having been a fan of Michael Jordan as a youth this walk down memory lane through the history of his sneakers was quite powerful. The way the currator was able to organize the sneakers and title cards was top notch. Overall was very impressed with the way the shoes and posters were presented in the cases and with the right amount of lighting. While the exhibition I experienced might be gone I think the way the work was displayed and the comfortable walkability of the space has be imagine that the next will be just as exciting. The rooms are nice and spacious. The kitchen and dinning room are enormous and gorgeous. There are two living room areas and a huge reception room with attached kitchen and bar area. This place was perfect for the wedding reception. There was lots of space for setting up tables, food, music and dancing. There is also space in the backyard that features a large covered patio, courtyard with koi pond and gazebo. Overall this was the perfect place for all of my family to stay to attend the wedding and reception of my cousin and her husband. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would definitely recommend Bear Creek Manor for group events.
