The women I spoke with indicated the person who assesses jobs was out of the office but was expected to return between 12 and 1. She said she would speak with him and call me back that afternoon. Based on our conversation I thought we were targeting him to come the next day. I haven't heard anything further. My rating is based on this interaction. I think if the job was something they didn't want to do, too small, or couldn't do I should have been told that and not just left hanging.

I also really liked that I could schedule online on Jon's website to make it easier to align my schedule with his availability on my own time. In short, excellent customer service up front and through the whole process start to finish. He might not be the cheapest, and definitely not the most expensive, but it is reasonable and he provides fixed-pricing which he sticks to as long as scope doesn't change. He also pulls all necessary permits and has passed all inspections with flying colors. Jon has now completed two projects for us. About 6 months ago, he installed new bathroom fans in 4 bathrooms and he recently installed an Electric Vehicle charger in our garage (along with a 60 AMP breaker to support it). I received a word-of-mouth recommendation from my neighbors who had Jon perform a much larger project which included significant re-wiring of their entire house, as well as a new breaker panel among other items. Another neighbor had Jon install a bathroom fan as well as some other work. They could not say enough good things about him and they were 100% right. I have nothing but praise for his work quality. I am one of those customers that likes to do a lot of research up front before I buy items for my house. Jon was patient during my bathroom fan researching as well as my EV charger purchasing and provided me his input as-needed. He let me buy my own fans and charger to ensure I got the items that I wanted. Along with all the excellent electrical work that he performed, he also makes sure to check in with the homeowners if there are unexpected decisions that need to be made during his process and he does not push "the expensive option". There were some moments where he had to cut into drywall and he warned me up front that he does not fix drywall (no electrician does). A big bonus goes to his patience, not just with homeowners, but with my kids too. One of my kiddos had a ton of questions and Jon took the time to talk to him and explain how everything worked and some of the fundamentals of electricity (and safety around electricity). He even waited until I made a cup of coffee before he started ! Bless his heart. Mike was very courteous, professional, He truly knows what he's doing. He had found two breakers in our breaker box in the home that had at one point sparked and caused heat damage to the inside of our breaker box. He replaced those two large breakers, then he also made sure every fire alarm in the house was replaced with a new 10-year battery alarm!! I don't like headaches and that saved me a big five of them!! lol I thought the company has got a great technician with this guy. Then I found out he was the owner! Most owners of companies don't act like they are service technicians! I had no idea and was very impressed with the way he conducted himself, and in doing his business. SOS Electric came out to the house and gave a free estimate. Several breakers needed replacement and SOS recommended installing a hole house surge protector. They gave a very reasonable estimate that I accepted. They came out a couple days later to do the repair. Mike was on time, baked on arrival and was very courteous. All repairs were completed in a timely manner. I highly recommend SOS Electric. I also appreciate how easy it was to use Yelp to find a contractor.

The guy ripped me off. I spoke with him by phone and he said it sounded like bad wiring. He sends…read moresomeone to the house who says it's just needs a new led fixture. I hadn't bought it because he said he thought it was wiring. He charged me $175.00 for 10 minutes and left a hanging bulb in the place of the fixture. I asked him if I get the new fixture do I call him back and he said they would come back for another $175.00. I asked if the first 175.00 could be the free estimate and he said no they estimate over the phone!! The guy told me it was wiring and it wasnt! How can you estimate over the phone? Guy tried to charge me $350.00 to change a light fixture!! I called another electrician who couldnt believe the price Ferris was charging. This electrician came changed the fixture for $95.00 per hour. It took 10 minutes tops.

He gave me days the work could be done and never communicated a time when someone would show up. The day of the scheduled service I received a call half our before the electrician showed up indicating what time he was arriving, which intersected with when I had to drop my child off at daycare. I received a call from the electrician at 8:18am stating he arrived and was waiting for me. I arrived 10 minutes later and the electrician, Mike, reviewed the work and called Jim. Mike communicated to me "Jim is upset that you're half an hour late and there is more work here than initially discussed. Because of this we aren't doing the work." Instead of contacting me directly, which he had my number, chose to have his worker relay the message. He is blaming me, the customer, for his poor business practices.
