Turns out, those roofers were calling a substance rust that wasn't rust and I didn't need a fix at all! Jay Jr literally saved me $4k on the spot (with photo evidence and all) by pointing that out. I learned so much about our gutters and roofs from that first meeting, he was a wealth of knowledge. Right there, I knew he was our guy. I didn't need Jay to fix the slate anymore but since I was so impressed I happily hired him to do some gutter fixes we needed done and painting a small portion of flat rubber roof white. He did a fantastic job with both. Jay was also the person in charge of our project and doing the work himself. He texted to give me a heads-up before he arrived each day and gave me a recap after each day to share progress and findings (with photos). Over several days of work he found a bunch of previously undiscovered but significant problems that he fixed without charging me more. Jay's integrity is unmatched - he knows that by working on your roof/gutters that his name is forever on that roof/gutter and he takes that very seriously. He came as a referral and I'll hire him again in a heartbeat. He'll surely be the only roofer I refer to others and my first call in the future. THANK YOU JAY!

Joe and his team completed a job at my house a few weeks ago. I had experienced some issues with…read morewater damage to my outdoors porch. Joe was extremely responsive and came out that day to take a look at the issue. After assessing the extent of the damage, Joe presented a few different options to fix the damage. I was pleased to be able to provide some input on the process; most contractors I have dealt with in the past were not willing to discuss other options. Upon commencing the work, Joe discovered that many of the pieces of suspect wood were in fine shape so they did not replaced. This ended up saving time and money for the project. Split Rock was able to finish the project much quicker than I expected and were extremely reasonable for the quality of the finished product that they delivered. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an affordable and high quality general contractor.

Ray was very responsive to communication from day 1 and was flexible with my roof needs and concerns. Their estimate was not only the cheapest, but it also contained the most product for the money. Ray fit me in earlier than expected knowing I had an ongoing issue that could cause more damage the longer we waited. The crew was prompt and worked hard through the day. They were professional and cleaned up as they went, multiple times. The next day a different crew came to finish up a few loose ends they didn't get to the day before. They were just as professional and cleaned up as thoroughly as they did the day before. Ray and his son stopped by throughout the project both days to ensure all was going smoothly. I highly recommend them for your roofing needs.

No one showed up or called. Ray and Nathan showed up the following day and apologized for not calling . Ray then climbed on to the roof and did a thorough examination with photos. They submitted an excellent proposal. The price was reasonable. I requested one change and it was immediately added to the estimate and emailed to me. Several more issues developed before I signed the contract. I called Nathan. He told me he was driving and he would get back to me. He never did. I called Ray and suggested that the entire roof may need replacing. He promised to come out the following day. He never showed and never called. This company may do excellent work but the poor scheduling and lack of communication is a major problem for me. I won't be hiring them.

I contacted Willard about fixing an issue with my gutter - the pitch of the gutter was off and…read moreseveral of the gutter seams were leaking. My entire experience with Willard was great. Willard has a front desk staff that receives all calls, which is much better than trying to get in touch with someone and leaving voicemails back and forth with a field tech. Also, both Shannon and Melanie were very pleasant and prompt in returning phone calls and getting answers to specific questions. Danny came out to my house for the initial quote. He was on-time and professional. There were a few other sections of gutter where I wasn't sure if it needed to be replaced - he took a look and said they were dirty, but completely functional, and suggested that I could get a few more years out of them. I appreciated his honest perspective, where he could have somewhat easily upsold me to do work that wasn't required. John actually performed the work. Again, he was on-time and completed all the work as described. Additionally, after installing the new gutters, there was a backup in one of the downspouts, and he spent 30 minutes clearing the blockage without charging anything additional. Again, I was very happy with the entire experience. Working with contractors can often be a headache - not the case with Willard. I highly recommend them and will be using them for other types of work going forward.
