Budget Handyman…read more Tyler is a soft spoken guy and respectful. When I first met him he seemed trustworthy, but my experience with Tyler was not good. Therefore, I want to make some points that may help you if you are thinking of hiring him. First of all, Tyler sometimes cancelled his appointments to do work, and when he did not cancel, he was always late. I received many excuses from Tyler for why he could not come, including that he was sick with food poisoning, that he was having car problems, and that he was having problems with his phone. He was very apologetic when late, but he rarely texted or called to let me know he would be late. Furthermore, he would tell me he was going to get lunch and come back in about a half hour, only to come back close to two hours later. All of this would not have bothered me if he had completed the work adequately and there had been no other problems. I hired him to do sound proofing on a wall, and he did a good job on the wall. However, while working on the wall he accidentally got drywall mudding on the ceiling. He then attempted to fix the marks on the ceiling by painting over them. The problem was that even though he tried two shades of paint, he failed to match the color, which left me with two shades of paint on the ceiling. That's when things went wrong. I suggested it might be easier just to paint the whole ceiling since he couldn't match the color, and he responded with a text saying my ceiling was not covered in the payment and if I needed the ceiling repainted I would have to pay extra. Even worse, he claimed there were scuff marks on the ceiling that weren't his fault, despite the fact that my entire condo, including the ceiling, was painted before I moved in in March of this year. In other words, he made a mistake and then blamed me instead of fixing his mistake. Unfortunately, I had already paid him for the job at this point, and he never did fix his mistake. Please take this into consideration before you hire Tyler, so that you don't have an experience like I did.

We had our entire first floor painted, doors and trim painted, and all they cleaned out 10 years worth of my bad patching and holes. All looks amazing! They finished a full day earlier then expected and the quality exceeded our expectations. Ken and Curt were clean, fast, and great to work with. Their prices were very reasonable. Definitely no need for other quotes on our next painting project.

We always recommend them without even the hint of a hesitation.

We are very happy with the completed project and would highly recommend Mark and his company to anyone looking for a thorough and reliable contractor. The quoting process was quick and efficient and detailed document outlining project tasks and costs was emailed to me within a few days. Throughout the project Mark has done a fantastic job providing updates on progress, next steps and timeline, as well as promptly responding to any questions. We are very pleased with how thoroughly all parts of the project were completed to ensure high-quality final product. As we have pets and small children it was also very helpful that Mark's team cleaned up the project space and put away all tools and equipment at the end of each workday, allowing us to continue using our yard while deck work was progressing. Overall, we had a very positive experience working with Lotz Home & Office to update our deck and would definitely work with them again on future projects.

How things change. We had mostly good luck with Brandon when he rehabbed our deck two years ago…read more In our original review we said that Brandon paid attention to detail. Closer inspection revealed this was not always the case. We had to replace several of the spindles in the railing since they were noticeably bent. We called him when it was time to stain the deck. We thought his estimate was high but we said OK anyway. He procrastinated thru July and August when the weather was nice. You need at least three dry days in a row to do the staining. He finally got started in late September and finished in early October. Several rain delays. We found a lot of missed spots when we checked his work. We think he was in a rush to finish the job and get paid. One good thing, he didn't ask for any money up front. My wife spent 45 minutes doing touch up. I spent 2 hours doing the same. The original estimate was for cleaning and two coats of stain. Brandon later decided that only one coat of stain would be required since we were using an oil based stain. Brandon took almost nothing off of the estimate for this change. We felt he should have taken 1/3 off of the labor part of the estimate since he only did about 2/3 of the labor that was in the original estimate. We can no longer recommend KBN Homes.

First off Dave was very communicative up front on coordinating the timing, and him and his partner Gene were punctual when they arrived to do the install. I felt the price we agreed was very fair and the end result looks fantastic. All curtain rods installed very evenly (they used a leveler) and look very aesthetically pleasing. They were also patient with us as we tried to figure out the best height to mount off of the floor, and they used their own screws where the manufacturer provided ones were lacking. Highly recommend and I will definitely consider Dave & Gene for future projects around the house where my own handyman skills are lacking!

I hired Jorge to put in vinyl/PVC porch railings for my front porch and my side porch. The…read morerailings had to match existing side rails on the front porch (these were the rails going down the stairs). The side porch was made of pavers, had no railings and looked trickier. Additionally, I wanted a shelf on/near the railing - this is the porch to go to the patio and BBQ grill. Jorge did fantastic work! It looks terrific. There were many tricky aspects to it and he conquered all difficulties. I felt the price was fair - he was definitely not the cheapest quote I got, but I had followed up with references who raved about him - and I can see why - he did very good work. That said, he could have been a better communicator - I would have liked a written proposal and I wish it had not been me to follow up with him on "are you coming today" - however, he had had an emergency in his family so it may have been just that. I very much recommend Jorge for porch railings. Plus - added bonus - he's a really nice guy!

They also did a great job in repairing some subpar drywall work that was done by the original contractors. While in the process of painting the walls, we had casually asked Jorge if his team also did trim work. We had been contemplating doing the trim work ourselves but Jorge's price quote was extremely fair and competitive, and the work was done very well. Jorge was easy to work with and accommodating of our schedule. We will be definitely be using Jorge and his team for future projects.
