I hired them to clean two rooms worth of carpet and an area rug. They were in and out in less than 14 minutes. Let's say it takes five min to set up then that means I was getting charged $350 plus for less than 9 min of cleaning. When I called to tell the owner he called me a liar. Again I have cameras that are time stamped. Ok that was great then when I actually got to the house the two stains were still there and as suspected, they did a lousy job. He refunded half my money and told me to never call again. Oh ok, don't worry, I won't. As a side note I have used Chem Dry at other property locations in MA and they did a great job.

Now we can reuse that wood in another project. He arrived on time, texted us photos throughout the process, and left a clean site, with the reclaimed wood in a neat pile. Everyone else who bid on the project wanted to burn the wood or haul it to the dump. Deconstruction Works has an arrangement where you can save wood from old structures and donate it to a nonprofit for a tax credit (which is a great idea, very win-win). We liked this model as we weren't sure how much of the wood we would re-use, and it was good to know that little would go to waste. His price was a little higher than the competition, but we more than made up for this in the value of the lumber salvaged, and the service was excellent.

Because we were about 2 doors down from the worksite we were around a lot. I have to say everyone on the crew was a pleasure to be around. Because this level of project is new to us I think I was pretty anxious a lot of the time but Erich was always helpful and easy to get along with. I feel very lucky to have been able to hire them. The idea that the materials are being reused, the savings over straight demolition and the potential tax savings are really the icing on the cake to what was a great experience overall. Deconstruction Works also did some side work not originally contracted such as cleaning up the place. The work was done at a very fair rate and the project was finished ahead of schedule and on budget. This may sound weird but I will actually miss the Deconstruction Works crew. So fast, so professional, so good at what they do, and enjoyable to be around, oh yeah, and they saved us money too.

We put up with it once but not twice: * Carpet was left filthy. Dog hair and grime left on the carpet. Lots of it. * We pay the minimum "3 room" rate ($125). Normally they make up for this by also cleaning our couch and easy chair - usually takes the guy 5 extra minutes. * Cleaning guy refused to do the couch, even though he was in and ready to leave after cleaning the one room in 15 minutes. He said, "I have other places to clean and I'm running behind" * When we showed him the dirt we were able to scoop off the carpet, he said "if you're not happy, just take it up with my manager about making it right" and took off. * We called the manager, mentioned the still-dirty carpet and the couch not getting done. He said, if you want the carpet cleaned again it's $125. * We said, we just had it cleaned today, and it's not clean. Will you make it right? He answered, if you're not happy with us, call another cleaner, and hung up. I guess, sadly, avoid these guys, they have lost their integrity.
