At the time, his doctors recommended putting him in a nursing home and in fact they would not release him to go home because he lived alone. I live in Florida and the doctors were rightfully concerned that in his condition he would not be able to care for himself at home. I hoped at the time that perhaps, given an opportunity to recuperate and build up his strength, he might be able to enjoy a quality life in his own home. So I stayed on with him to see if this hope could become a reality. At the time, I interviewed several companies that provided home aids and I settled on A-Z Best because of their flexibility in meeting the hours my Dad needed coverage for. We needed split shifts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday - someone to assist him in the morning and bring him to dialysis (7 am to 10 am) and then someone to pick him up from dialysis, bring him home, make his supper and perform the evening rituals (3 pm to 9 pm). A-Z Best met that need and then some. Over the last four years, the hours Dad needed coverage changed from time to time for various reasons. With each change, A-Z Best worked with us to make sure Dad always received the coverage he needed. Of course we were blessed to have Christina Lewis, as his primary provider. She is an angel that lives in our world, dedicated to the care of the elderly and infirmed. Her attention to detail and communication with me was astounding and I don't quite know how either my Dad or I would have made it through these last four years without her dedicated service. Other people that covered when Christina was unavailable were equally qualified and provided excellent care as well. My Dad passed away last month and you and your company's support of our ever-changing needs during his last illness was a huge comfort. I write this letter as a recommendation of A-Z Best Home Care to anyone who may be in need of this type of service. Non-violent, but Verbal. The only times she got into a mood swing were when the Care From The Heart staff grew unprofessionally frustrated, and Impatiently tried to FORCE her to do things she was not Ready to do. The Activity sheets, kept in a Binder, for the Family and their Boss to review, were Frequently scribed with unvarying, Routine entries, when they were not Simplistic and akin to Milking-the-Time-clock.
