I had to go to work, among other responsibilities! After checking out providers and services, Visiting Angels was highly recommended. I knew I wanted to utilize a company with a good track record in this field. The Cleveland office of Visiting Angels has been in business for over 14 years. I did my own due diligence, personally speaking with several current and former clients. I also took an additional step to contact independent referral sources to see what companies they spoke highly of. They can never give you just one company, but the Cleveland office of Visiting Angels was on everyone's top 5 list of referrals. Every reference that I personally called, whether from Visiting Angels or from social workers and referral sources, had great comments about their experience and/or their reputation. Now, as I come up on a year of service, I can happily report that my experience and that of my father, paralleled all of the good references. Their staff members, or caregivers that have been with my father, have been very attentive, reliable and trustworthy. He has his 'angels', as he refers to them, around the clock! The Village of Healing Center is the first and only clinic for Black women in Cuyahoga County. They have services for pediatrics, mental health and gynecology and obstetrics. They also have primary care services. They cater to the black woman holistically. I am so glad I finally called and made an appointment. I was nervous at first as I prepared to switch doctors, and hoped I made the right decision. All that concern left once I entered. The young lady who welcomed was so kind and genuine and she said she was so glad I came. She knew I was a first timer and explained the process to me. The artwork is beautiful and every exam room is named for a different medical pioneer of color. It was cool to read the different stories. My provider was so dope! She was patient, kind and so understanding. She was encouraging and a great listener. I already made another appointment, and I am actually looking forward to returning.
