A message regarding an awkward experience at your Port Washington location January 4th, 2023. My fiancé and I spent a lovely afternoon shopping in Port Washington and Manhasset. We came in for only a few small things and ended up with two cart full of items spending nearly $700. We had a lovely experience with the floor attendants who very nicely helped us look for a "relax" sign. I was purchasing items to decorate the waiting area of my pharmacy. We came to resister #one where the cashier was friendly. We helped her check us out as we had large items like oversized faux plants and even extended the courtesy of scanning items for her so she wouldn't have to come around from the register. There was an associate named Susan overlooking the entire transaction from beside the cash register with a sense of interrogation or fear that we were trying to shoplift items in our cart. She pointed out a set of $12.99 hangers from the bottom of the cart before the transaction had even been finished. The hangers were added to the order and we paid. Comments were made and we embarrassingly said, we were not trying to shoplift 13$ hangers in a $600+ order. The entire transaction was complete. The cashier was courteous. Susan then moved herself to an area in front of us near the exit and called out in front of everyone, "was the mirrored tray at the bottom of your cart paid for?" Again insinuating that we were trying to shoplift items from our purchase. The tray was one of the first items scanned in the transaction. The women who helped us find the relax sign seemed to come to the register hearing the commotion to console us as though this behavior from Susan toward customers was a common occurrence. Susan is rude and snarky and unfit for customer service. I have never experienced such an uncomfortable experience at a Home Goods. I have been on a first name basis with the Rockville Center manager for years and have since shopped at the Atlas Park location with delight for years since it opened. If Susan is so concerned about shrink then she should come around the counter and scan the items instead of having customers lifting heavy items out of carts at the convenience of cashiers. Our better sense should have told us to abandon the entire 3 figure purchase and go elsewhere. But we didn't and left with grace. Susan is an embarrassment to your company and I hope other customers don't have to endure the awkwardness that she put my fiancé and I under last night. I was there today and asked employee on the floor if the box set of glasses I showed her , may have stock in the back because I needed 6 more. She said I don't speak English! And than she said " excuse me, move" in english I asked you don't speak English? no, she replied and again said "excuse me, move" how can you have someone who cant simply say no, or help with customer service? her name was Youreda or some similar spelling, I didn't want to stare at her name tag but was really disappointed in her response read more

What a great big Home Goods . This store is amazing . Everything is segregated in it's own section, there items are so cute and must have items . I walked in for 1 items and left with 20. Everything I saw I wanted and the prices are amazing . We just moved so finding items to decorate our new home seemed impossible but after walking into this Home Goods I don't feel that way anymore . I found beautiful vases , wall pieces , plants , you name it we found everything we will need to decorate our new home . The biggest plus was the cashier line . There was absolutely no line . That's amazing. That has never happened at any other HomeGoods I have went too. I got on line and walked right to a open and available cashier . This is my new favorite store in Port Washington and I will 100% be back here all the time ! Hands down read more

This Home Goods is such a pleasure to shop in. There's not too much else going on in the same strip, so the parking lot is manageable. And the store itself is giant and well-spaced. They keep everything incredibly neat, especially in comparison with other TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods locations. If I'm going here for the kinds of things they sell here with a not too specific agenda, I never ever come out empty-handed. Once I went to eight other stores and found exactly what I was looking for at this one (a bird cage with a specific height and color requirement). Their holidays section is always incredibly extensive, so it's a good place to start for decorations and holiday-related gifts. They have the same stuff they sell at places like Bombay and it's a third of the price. Staff seems less pressured than most locations, so they're really helpful and pleasant. read more

I love just strolling through this store and taking it all in. The products they have are so colorful and fun, yet simple and classy. Everything is organized, the store's never crowded, and the prices cannot be beat. I guess that's because the goods aren't the best quality, but they are good enough for your home. I love how everything they carry is so unique. As someone else wrote, you walk in not knowing you want something, and being there makes you realize you want it. Who would have known I would have bought really adorable salt and pepper shakers, a soap dispenser, and beautiful wine glasses?! Last time I was here, I bought a beautiful nightstand for $100, and I have gotten plenty of other things, like towels, mirrors, containers and boxes, plates, decor, lamps, godiva gift bags, and more. This used to be great store, until Kelly, the most condescending, incompetent excuse for a manager arrived. Tried to return an item I purchased a week before, acknowledging I removed the tags. Kelly insisted I was lying about using it in the most outrageous self important tone, involving 3 other employees to validate her opinion for no apparent reason. If you'd like to visit a store whose manager delusionally believes she is the president of the United States, shop here. Otherwise take your business somewhere else. read more

Poor customer service : As a infrequent customer to home goods I don't know proper protocol for returns - but After purchasing a bowl and I brought it home I noticed a crack in the piece. When I had a chance to bring this $25 piece back to the store I was told that if it's damaged then it was obviously my responsibility. No exceptions, no trying to make the customer happy, no im sorry. Just a "you must have done this or else you would have asked for a discount" And like I said as a infrequent consumer at home goods I would not be aware of this option, as well as if I noticed the crack I would not have accepted the piece. I like the store, the concept and workers there. The manager on the other hand had no empathy, understanding or customer service skills. Not a I'm sorry, not a moment of putting herself in my shoes. I understand if company policy is what it is, but we are both humans here and some empathy in life goes a long way. read more

I think a lot of my love for this location comes with the fact that it is never annoyingly busy. Most of these discount stores get lines out the door on certain days. I don't even think that has happened to me once here. Sure that my be luck. The store is always decently stocked even when they say it isn't. You can usually find more than one of what you're looking for. Can't say I have used the staff for assistance ever but they are always nice when I am at check out. I am addicted to Home Goods and as long as I live nearby I will be coming back to this location. read more

This store is wonderful! I have only been in the evenings but there is always considerable amount of parking. The store is never over crowded and is always fully stocked. Everything is neatly organized and given its own sections. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. The only thing I think they can get more of is paintings and wall decor. I have been to the Home Goods in Staten Island and their wall decor section is always overflowing with beautifule decor. But other than that, this place is amazing and has great prices for great product! read more

I placed an order over the phone and was able to go into the store a half hour later and pick up my canning jars for my last minute edible Christmas presents. When one orders over the phone, one also pays over the phone so its quick and easy. Just walk in give your name or confirmation# and walk out. :) The Customer Service was very good. I waited about 10min at the most. There was only one person ahead of me when I got there. Pretty fast for the Christmas season. I'm a satisfied customer. read more

This is my favorite store. I can spend hours just browsing. I wish I had a bigger house because there are so many wonderful things to purchase, especially holiday decorations. I don't often write reviews, but was compelled to write this one about Home Goods and particularly, the Home Goods store in Port Washington. As a realtor, home stager and interior decorator, Home Goods is one of my favorite resources and I often refer to it as #mydisneyland. That being said, what happened to the Port Washington Home Goods? I am sooooo dissappointed! It is not inviting and is a complete mess! I realize it's holiday time and there's an influx of holiday related items. Despite that, the store is so packed that you can hardly get through the aisles! However, it's not packed with got-to-have items. Just alot of junk, with some trendy items thrown in. I have always had a lot of luck finding unique home accessories and staging items there. I look forward to getting those special "finds" and pride myself on being able to eye those items right away. I've spent countless hours and thousands of $ at HG. If I visited my favorite HG store enough, I'd be able to expect that I'd eventually find a great furniture or accessory item, mirror, lighting, etc. Not so anymore! I was there as recently as yesterday and several times since before Thanksgiving. I would be very hard pressed to find anything that made my heart beat fast with excitement. I am hoping this is a temporary setback and that HG will get their mojo back. #whathappenedtohomegoods read more
