The Lake is a well-stocked resource for local fishermen, and there is a lot of lovely wildlife to see in and around the park. You'll regularly see wildlife photographers taking snaps. Check out the visitors boards describing the wildlife around the park. The park also has a model boating club, a small café shack (open only during popular hours) and a good play area for kids, with a wire slide, roundabout and other apparatus to keep the nippers amused. There is ample parking for visitors, and it's a good walk around the lake. In short, I love visiting the park here to take a walk, relax and unwind! How lovely to have these kinds of parks on our doorstep.

There's an assortment of climbing equipment for older children as well as a baby giraffe slide, little swing and playhouse for very little ones on a softer, squidgy surface. The park is well used but the equipment is frequently covered with grafitti, a complete shame. It occasionally suffers from vandalism and then the repairs can take a while, leaving the equipment cordoned off. It's a nice place to take children but could be better maintained.

At the entrance there is a cluster of main buidlings with a residential area and some stables behind this. To the right hand side of the entrance there is a small 'learners' field where beginner riders can train the horses and ride in a controlled manner. This field also doubles up as a place where the giant horse trailers are parked. Entry can be gained through the main gate - big enough for vehicles. The terrain is very bumpy though so this might pose a problem for those with disablements. Tractors and farm machinery frequent the area too. The farm keeps dozens of horses over serveral fields, with a small triangular field by the main house keeping the smaller ponies. The rest of the horses are kept in large fields where they can be seen from the roadside running around and enjoying themselves. The staff at the farm are brilliant and make sure that in cold weather every single horse has a blanket over them. Riders have the choice of going around the farm or venturing outdoors. There is a wide choice of safe local riding areas including Humford Woods which is ten minutes walk away.
