This is a big riding stables or as I refer to it, a 'horse farm' located on the vast land alongside Barrington Road in Bedlington. At the entrance there is a cluster of main buidlings with a residential area and some stables behind this. To the right hand side of the entrance there is a small 'learners' field where beginner riders can train the horses and ride in a controlled manner. This field also doubles up as a place where the giant horse trailers are parked. Entry can be gained through the main gate - big enough for vehicles. The terrain is very bumpy though so this might pose a problem for those with disablements. Tractors and farm machinery frequent the area too.
The farm keeps dozens of horses over serveral fields, with a small triangular field by the main house keeping the smaller ponies. The rest of the horses are kept in large fields where they can be seen from the roadside running around and enjoying themselves. The staff at the farm are brilliant and make sure that in cold weather every single horse has a blanket over them.
Riders have the choice of going around the farm or venturing outdoors. There is a wide choice of safe local riding areas including Humford Woods which is ten minutes walk away. read more
