It's a huge beach, with plenty of sand and pebbles too. There's not much else -- no funfair, very few shops, no pier -- and to be honest that's part of the attraction as far as we are concerned. It can get quite busy (head north to Runswick Bay if you want to get away from the crowds), but even when it's busy there's still plenty of room for everyone. All in all, a very pleasant spot.

There is also a terrace which offers a panoramic view of Druridge Bay which I have to say, the view was the highlight of our stay, even during the rain and wind that threatened to ruin our beach break. During our stay we enjoyed a quiet and relaxing break away from everyday life, with the cottage set in the most private area of the village of Cresswell. The up keep of the cottage was also of the highest standard with fresh towels and bedding offered on our arrival as well as a customised welcome plaque and bottle of wine! Bank Top Cottage truly did exceed our expectations and we are already looking forward to returning there soon!

Typically they now offer a high standard of accommodation for anyone wanting to be close to the centre of Bamburgh as well as having easy access to the beach. Nantucket is a good example with quality fittings and furnishings.
