This was a $100K+, six month project which they completed on schedule and on budget. Designer Ojini (wife of the GC) is a genius at design and also in project management; I swear she has the IQ of Einstein and also never sleeps. Always a delight, full of great ideas. When we first met Principle Design, choking a bit at their (non-negotiable) bid for our project, Ojini said "We will stand behind our work for life" and I can vouch that it's true. Our big project was more than two years ago, and what I wanted to write is that twice since the completion we had quality issues with the cabinetry, done by a subcontractor. The sub used sloppy construction techniques that were not visible, but resulted in weight-bearing shelves collapsing (they used glue once and two staples the other time to hold up a major shelf; no wonder they collapsed). Both times Ojini handled the repair to our complete satisfaction, taking ownership of the problem and getting it resolved. Simply can't say enough good about Principle Design & Construction. PS Many people have told us that our kitchen is the most delightful, original kitchen they have ever seen. Ojini is an ego-less designer; she made our kitchen look like us, not like her last project.

Principle did a fantastic job incorporating our style into a great finished product. (See the "Hillside" Project in Principle's Portfolio) Principle works as a husband and wife team with Ojini helping design the project and her husband Jack implementing the design. You can tell from Principle's portfolio that Ojini is a talented designer and not restricted to design a particular style. Ojini and Jack were excellent communicators, and fair and honest in dealing with the inevitable bumps encountered with any construction project. The few change orders along the way were dealt with quickly and for fair price. Principle's plumbing subcontractor did a great job of re-plumbing and appeared to do the job right the first time and did an excellent job of cleaning up at the end of the night. I plan on using them for our future bathroom remodels and highly recommend them.

From start to finish, Joseph exceeded my expectations in every way. I provided a very detailed PDF with specific requests, and I am very nit-picky, and not only did he follow through on every one of my requests, but Joseph went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. He changed out things that needed changing and fixed things that needed fixing. Joseph communication was top-notch, and I mean TOP notch; which is something I value highly as a consumer. He kept me updated throughout the entire process, always on top of the work and addressing any concerns immediately. And all of his service came at a VERY reasonable price. His pricing was very competitive-l spoke with multiple contractors, and Joseph gave me the best price estimate, and I learned that I rightly chose him without sacrificing quality. Again, the projects completed included a full kitchen remodel, replacing part of my ceiling in one of the rooms where l had significant water damage, painted the rest of my ceilings, remodeling my garage connection room, leveling floors, installed new shower trim in both my bathrooms, installed my multifunction bathroom vents with dimming lights, installed new recessed lighting, installed two new toilets, installed new closet doors in all my rooms and installed, installed my blink floodlight, he and his crew even installed my new appliances with the kitchen. Every aspect of the job was done with precision and care. Also, he was kind enough to conduct a water test for me since I was curious about the condition of my roof, and he and his crew made sure that the house was spotless when they were done with it! Talk about astounding care and commitment to the consumer. If you're looking for a contractor who will bring your vision to life, provide excellent communication, and offer great value, I HIGHLY recommend Joseph. I sincerely believe that if I chose any other contractor or company I would still be waiting for the project to be completed or worse, I would have paid a significant amount more for the same work and probably with a lot less communication and care!

We were tearing out our large tub shower and making it a walk in. We interviewed about 10 companies and Da Vinci has the most comprehensive bid and some of the best pricing we found. Ron was easy to reach all along the way. His construction crew was efficient and knowledgeable. Pedro over saw the demo and install and has years of experience. He did everything to code. Pablo worked his tail off demo'ing and rebuilding our new walk in design. Jorge did the most AMAZING Tile job. It was perfection. All lines and measurements and spacing was to a tee. The Hot mop company was excellent also! The finish flooring crew came in and worked quickly and installed everything to spec. We had some plumbing issues once the demo was done and needed to do some changes to that. The Plummer who came out from the company was quite pricey so we were able to contract our own separately at a much lower rate. We used Nick from Sterling pluming. Honest and reliable and upfront with all of his pricing! The shower glass door was included in the bid. Very nice since most others had that as a separate line item. The shower door is beautiful but had a small leak in seal at bottom. The company was suppose to call us back to come and better seal it but never called us. My husband easily bought his own caulking and repaired it himself. We bought our tiles at MSI in Orange. One of the best and largest and gives all kinds of free samples. Highly recommend them. I also highly recommend picking your shower plumbing and supplies from Ferguson Plumbing . Their showroom in Irvine was GORGEOUS! And they were so knowledgeable. They take walk ins but make an apt if going on a weekend. Our shower is gorgeous and turned out to be our dream retreat. Thanks Ron!

Probably the greatest compliment we can give is that, if we were to do it all over again, we wouldn't hesitate to hire Meelad once again. My husband and I are both in the construction industry, so we knew what we were getting into when we began speaking to contractors. We were very clear regarding our expectations with Meelad from the beginning, and he and his team fully met everything we agreed to. Furthermore, their pricing was extremely competitive. Our project took approximately 1 year, and included adding a bedroom, extending two existing bedrooms, removing a fireplace, and reroofing, reflooring, and repainting the entire house. This all had to be done while our family of 8 were continuously living in the home. There were a few hiccups, of course, through the construction process, but overall Meelad and his team were very reliable, honest, and a pleasure to work with. Every one of his subcontractors was professional and respectful, and we were pleased with every part of the work as it was completed. It has been about a year now and we continue to be very happy with all the work that was done. Thank you Meelad, Marco, and the rest of your team for a job well done!

Mark is an amazing talent! The theme of our project should have been "Don't worry, I'll fix it" or…read more"Don't worry, it's easy." Mark put our minds at ease quite a few times. In the beginning we were thinking through things as best as we could and Mark offered his advice, but we had a semi-solid idea of what we wanted. As things progressed though, we started rely more and more on Mark's advice. He saw our vision and knew how to get us there. Lesson learned, rely on Mark's advice more, sooner. Be open to his suggestions! Tell him what you are generally trying to accomplish and then let him get you there doing his magic. Mark is honest... In the beginning we wrote a sizable check and even in the middle as we added more and more things, for which we had to pay extra, money was being exchanged, and never did he try to take advantage. He was always fair, upfront, and honest. You don't see that too often in contractors for the quality he delivers. He also went above and beyond many, many times. Here are some keys to success with Mark: - Trust the process, good things come to those who are patient - Work WITH Mark, don't be rigid... the more it's a partnership, the better the outcome will be for everyone - Communicate needs and expectations upfront clearly - Treat Mark like family - that's what he's to us now that we've gone through this process Conclusion: Wow... just wow. Not only did he do our kitchen, he did our garage, our laundry cabinets upstairs, and we had this ugly hallway nook/cave, which he filled with a beautiful floor to ceiling cabinet. All of this was done in 4 weeks (it would have been done sooner had we decided on everything we wanted upfront... we asked him a couple of times... "ohh can you do this and what about that..." Every time, the answer was... you guessed it... "Yes, of course, it's easy.") So now we have a beautiful kitchen, way more usable and functional space, drawers that save me from having to explore cavernous cabinets, and a bright kitchen that's more fitting for the theme we were going for. Man, I can't tell you how much I despised the brown cabinets and the puke colored granite that came with the house. We are taking break for the moment, but trust that we will be asking Mark to come back for our Master bath remodel at some point. Thank you Mark!

Over the years, I've worked on multiple remodeling projects both residential and commercial. I've had the pleasure (and mostly displeasure) of working with several contractors. My search for someone I could rely on ended when I found Mark. I have since done many projects with him, including my shops, my wine bar, and most recently my home. His specialty is custom cabinetry although there is not much else he cannot do. His crew is stellar, especially Picasso (painter), Mohamed (designer), Alex (carpenter), Marvin, and Armando. Most of them have been with Mark for more than a decade. I could leave my home without having to worry while they worked. Most recently, they painted my kids' bedrooms. Their job was clean, fast, and well executed. My garage cabinets look much better than ordinary garage cabinets at about the same price as those closet organizers. Mark recommended the color "Inside Passage" which made it look more custom than white. My best friend also hired Mark to redo her entire home including kitchen and bathrooms. You can see quality handiwork throughout her home. Look no further if you are considering hiring a contractor. Hiring Mark will save you a lot of heartache and headache.
