He tried to hide this mistake by sneaking parts of the gas log into his truck. When I compared it to the photo of what was ordered, and that parts were missing, he claimed that those parts were still in the truck, and brought them back into my house. He lit it, and it was like a blow tourch, he did not install a gas regulator valve, which is needed because I have a high-pressure gas meter from the gas company. He quoted this regulator, but forget to bring one. He tried to convince me to just use the gas valve to reduce the pressure, but I refused to accept shoddy work. He had to go to Home Depot to buy the part. This required him to redo the entire installation. Once completed, he told me not to turn on the fireplace for 48 hours so that the pipe dope would cure. I was looking at the manual and asked him about the remote. He did not know how to make it work, and claimed that it was broken. I also asked him why the pilot light sounded like a blow touch. He said that a different sized orifice is needed, and that he will need to come back and change it. He would do that when he replaces the remote. He scheduled a return visit in 3 days, and wanted to be paid in full before he left. I paid him over $5,000 in cash. He did not show up for the appointment. He rescheduled for the following Saturday. He did not show up for that appointment either. To this day, he has not replied to phone calls or text messages. To make matters worst, fearful of the blow-touch sound coming from the pilot light, I turned off the fireplace from the fireplace valve. The house quickly filled with the smell of gas. I turned off the gas from the gas valve that led to the regulator. I called his office and told the receptionist, who quickly declined to accept any responsibility that he would help me. I text him, and still no answer. I scheduled an emergency service with the local HVAC company. They arrived to find that the gas line was only hand tight coming from the regullator. The pipe threads were stripped, and there was an excessive amount of pipe dope in an attempt to seal a leak with it. He had to remove all of the gas pipe, and reinstall the gas logs as if it was a new installation. He also took extreme care to adjust the pilot light, which was labor intensive. He stated that the gas leak was severe enough that it could have blown up the house, as gas was hear hissing from the pipe, and was partly the reason why the fireplace was burning so irradically. I am contemplate legal action. This company was report to the local code enforcement agency to have their license revoked. This company could have killed my family, and they probably knew it. The company is owned by Aaron Miesell. He will probably change the name of the company once he gets sued for gross negligence, its is harder to change his name. Beware, he does not care.

He was very polite and thorough -- even flew a drone over my chimney to show and clearly explain some damage he found. He completed the cleaning in under 30 minutes and made sure no mess was left behind in the house. Overall, a smooth, fast, and professional experience.

I wish I had followed my gut feelings during the initial visit; now I am having to pay another company to re-do half of the work. I called to have a rain pan installed (that wasn't currently installed) and the termination cap replaced (old, rusted, looked bad). Their salesman comes out, we discuss my two needs, he flies a drone over my house to take a look, and gives me an exorbitant quote. We discuss more, and I begrudgingly accept to do the job for the price offered because I need it done. I provide the deposit for half the amount to get started. He emails me the invoice, and he only has the rain pan listed for the service. I ask him to correct it on the spot. He suddenly gets amnesia, claims we didn't just discuss the two items that we just agreed upon for this huge fee, and that we had only agreed upon the rain pan being installed. I told him to update the invoice with the agreed upon services/items or give me the deposit back. He refuses to give me the deposit back, gets upset, says he's "never going to find a termination cap that fits," says the current one is "just fine," but updates the invoice to reflect what we discussed (I SO WISH I HAD JUST INSISTED ON GETTING THE DEPOSIT BACK OR STOPPED PAYMENT ON THE CHECK, AND JUST PAID THE STUPID FEE FOR THEM TO COME OUT. Would have been money well spent to get rid of them.) He sends a guy out the following week to take measurements for the job. It then takes an eternity for them to return and actually do the job. They keep claiming they can't find a termination cap that will fit. About 1-2 months later, I get an email with one photo of the completed work taken from like 20 feet away (even though the guy is standing on the roof and could have provided close-up shots). I never hear from them again. The following years, every time it rains, I hear rain coming in the chimney (which I had never heard before). I hire another company to come out, clean the chimney, and give me some options on correcting Chimney "Pro" Cleaners work so the rain doesn't come into the chimney (the WHOLE point of a termination cap is stop the rain and other things from coming into the chimney! BIG FAT FAIL!). When the new company comes, they take close-up pictures to show me what's actually up there. Chimney "Pro" Cleaners had purchased a termination cap that was a completely different size, took metal shears and made cuts up the side, forced the cap around the top of the chimney, and drilled screws all the way around to try to make it fit to the shape. I have to pay to replace it again and repair the damage. Awesome. So if you want to waste your money and have to hire another company to repair the repairs, go with these guys.
