The technician, Dustin, thoughtfully called to let us know he was running a few minutes late, and he arrived exactly when predicted. He did a thorough inspection and magically got the oven working as it should again, without having to replace any parts. If he had been a less scrupulous and responsible professional, he could have charged us to replace a part unnecessarily. Instead, he left his contact info so we could let him know if the problem returned, with the plan to order the part then, and only then. Even though it was the end of the business day, he stayed longer to be sure the oven maintained its temperature correctly. Throughout, he was friendly and professional, a pleasure to work with. Although the business is located in Bloomington, they do calls in the Champaign-Urbana area for no extra charge. I had to call them on the Wednesday of the week of delivery to find out what day they where going to deliver it and was told that if Friday was not good enough I should have paid the extra fee to have it shipped sooner. I try to buy local but this business does not care. Next time I will go to Springfield, Il and get my appliances from Lowes or Menards or find another local business in the area. Since they don't have much in stock I ordered a new Whirlpool on a Tuesday and it came in the following Monday. Tuesday I got the call to schedule delivery and she said it wouldn't be until the following Monday (13 days after ordered). I said I would need it earlier because of an open house so they delivered it on Thursday. When it arrived there were a few small nicks on one side that they touched up and were acceptable. When the delivery men brought it through the door they badly scratched both doors. When the store owner was contacted his only solution was to order a new one that would take over a week or touch up the front and refund $200. The scratches were terrible and could never be covered. They did provide a complete refund and have given us a small loaner fridge while we waited for this delivery. Luckily we were able to get same day delivery for a nicer fridge at Holthaus in Pana IL. Doc's customer service and delivery is terrible.
