The simple, short review: great product, fair price, great service at sale and installation. Most of what I said four years ago still applies, though this time it wasn't the LG washer giving us a problem, but rather its partner "top-rated" LG dryer, its grinding beginning to sound like fingernails pulled across a chalkboard. Among other things, I now have: *A dryer that looks, operates, and even sounds a lot like my Mom's old Maytag, with rotary dial controls, and no silly electronic songs; *A product made in the USA; *A five-year in-home warranty, all parts and labor, and various other partial warranties after that; *A 25-year expected life span, so the next dryer I buy may be for my assisted-living apartment; *The great satisfaction of never again having to ask for assistance from LG customer service. Speed Queen is the most reliable brand, yet I believe Consumer Reports still does not recommend it, apparently because CR thinks it is not energy efficient. But how energy- and resource-efficient can it be to manufacture, ship, purchase, use, and dispose of a machine that works only five or ten years, like my junky old "top-rated" LGs?

We've used Randall's for all of our appliances and services for over 10 years. The Wednesday…read morebefore Thanksgiving 2019 our residential "sidekick" refrigerator stopped working. We called Randall's and they were unable to help us until the following week. We were forced to call another company since it was THANKSGIVING and we couldn't go without a refrigerator. There was some sort of miscommunication between the owner and us about a service call and they showed up to our home the following week after we had determined a new refrigerator was required and ordered. We received a bill for the service call. When I called them to explain the miscommunication, they refused to excuse the $38. I realize it's $38. But after 10 years of business with them and several family referrals you'd think $38 was worth excusing. The owner spent time yelling at me on the phone even after I asked him to calm down. He then said he would rather have the $38 than our continued business and any of our referrals continued business. No problem, sir. Enjoy $38. That's $3.80 over 10 years as opposed to thousands. Good call!

The technician, Dustin, thoughtfully called to let us know he was running a few minutes late, and he arrived exactly when predicted. He did a thorough inspection and magically got the oven working as it should again, without having to replace any parts. If he had been a less scrupulous and responsible professional, he could have charged us to replace a part unnecessarily. Instead, he left his contact info so we could let him know if the problem returned, with the plan to order the part then, and only then. Even though it was the end of the business day, he stayed longer to be sure the oven maintained its temperature correctly. Throughout, he was friendly and professional, a pleasure to work with. Although the business is located in Bloomington, they do calls in the Champaign-Urbana area for no extra charge. I'm putting BK Appliance Repair into my contacts now in case any other appliance issues come up.
