My insurer insisted that I engage in six weeks of "pre-hab" prior to undergoing lumbar fusion…read moresurgery. My previous exposure to physical therapy over the course of decades had not been good. I had very low expectations, and something of a chip on my shoulder, believing being forced to endure physical therapy would likely cause more pain. However (and I realize even Ivy's dedicated and talented therapists can't fix what needs to be surgically repaired), Ivy has managed to reduce my pain to the point where I can now actually benefit from the medication I was prescribed to reduce my nerve pain! Prior to physical therapy, I needed pain medication to sleep, as the muscles in my legs and feet would twitch and cramp all through the night, as nerve pain radiated down from my lower back. Ivy's treatment has profoundly reduced my reliance on pain medication, even the OTC kind. I very much want to reach a point where I am medication free! I plan to continue attending PT sessions at Ivy right up to surgery, and resume as soon as possible post surgery. My exposure to the knowledgeable and upbeat therapists at Ivy has convinced me that proper therapy IS a vital part of pain management, and the path to being medication free.

This review is for Maximum Performance's New Milford office…read more I've been to PT practices in the past, and while they've all been ok, my experience at Maximum Performance has been unparalleled. From the start, everything was so easy, the staff was so kind, and the therapists not only experts in what they do, but also empathetic. When I first called to book an appointment, their office manager took my insurance information, called them herself to verify my coverage, and then called me back to give me the rundown. I had my initial consult and evaluation with James, who walked me through his recommended treatment plan to address an old shoulder injury and diastasis recti. He's incredibly patient and knowledgeable and provided me with tips and tools outside of therapy, so I could continue down my fitness journey, without causing reinjury to my shoulder or exasperating my diastasis recti. Because of schedules, I alternated therapists and saw Paige, as well, who was equally as attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend James and Paige for your physical therapy needs.

I'm not gonna say anything bad about them. They did help me, but I always had to keep going back, it was never ending. Caitlin and her team which include Danny and Sam, really know what they're doing. They examine you, work out an exercise and therapy routine and give you a time limit. I actually had great results with my lower back and left shoulder after two months. The atmosphere is laid back and I ended up having great conversations every time. I've taken away exercises that I continue to do everyday, which helps tremendously. It's been about 3 months and I feel great. I hope I don't have to go back, but If I do, I know where to go. Thank you , I'm very grateful.

After looking around in the area, I was discouraged by the poor reviews I read for many of the facilities, and bad experiences described to me by people I know. Then, a friend of mine referred me to Caitlin at SportsCare in East Rutherford. I feel so fortunate to have found this stellar practice. Caitlin and team were accommodating with my schedule, provided more than enough personal attention, kept me motivated throughout treatment, and maintained a positive, comfortable, and very clean environment. Despite how much recovery sucked, I did not dread the early morning sessions. I was always greeted with a smile and had pleasant conversations. Caitlin consistently suggested additional at-home exercises to help with recovery, and she and Danny were not shy in correcting my form to ensure maximum benefit. As far as SportsCare itself, they were not in-network with my insurance, but the co-pay they worked out with me was very fair and there have been no billing issues to date. I had my last session today after 3 months of treatment and I feel like I'm losing some friends... My elbow is as good as I can expect given the trauma and foreign objects under my skin. I feel confident that I am much better off for choosing SportsCare, and this location in particular. Thank you Caitlin, Danny, and Samantha for your professionalism, compassion, and for being genuinely great people. I hope that we cross paths in the future... but hopefully not because I broke myself again. :)

My experience with Allan Jauregui during my daughter's educational evaluation was extremely…read moredisappointing and deeply concerning. He was tasked with evaluating my 5 year old daughter for special education services and determining important educational supports, yet the evaluation process felt rushed, unprofessional, and lacking in basic objectivity. The actual interaction with my daughter lasted only a very brief amount of time, approximately five minutes, yet he later produced what was presented as a "comprehensive" evaluation report scoring her extremely low across multiple areas. What makes this especially troubling is that the report itself repeatedly acknowledges that my daughter did not meaningfully participate in much of the formal testing. Despite this, severe conclusions were still made about her abilities and functioning. As a parent, I also observed behavior and comments throughout the process that I perceived as dismissive, biased, and filled with microaggressions toward both myself and my child. Instead of taking the time to build rapport with a young child, the evaluation appeared to rely heavily on subjective assumptions and limited interaction. I do not know what Allan Jauregui's level of experience or training is when it comes to evaluating young children, but based on my experience, the process did not reflect someone who appeared adequately prepared to conduct a fair, thorough, and developmentally appropriate evaluation for a preschool aged child. The lack of patience, meaningful engagement, and balanced assessment was extremely concerning given the seriousness of making recommendations that can impact a child's educational future. Families deserve evaluators who are patient, professional, objective, and genuinely committed to understanding the whole child. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
