Revolutionary Physical Therapy And Massage Therapy

I knew I should have left as soon as I walked in and I could see the prior appointment getting her massage from the welcome in area. I went for a massage to be relaxed after a stressful week. However, this is not what happened. The massage table was covered by see through curtains, so I could not even disrobe in private, I ducked down to have some privacy. The table was not covered in professional sheets, rather two towels that left my body was exposed for all to see. It was close to the main entrance of the shop, so I could listen to the woman who was getting physical therapy next to me (I could literally see her) yap on the phone in another language my entire time. It was very unprofessional and uncomfortable, I would NEVER go back or recommend to anyone. Even writing this review I am SO mad at myself for staying and even getting the massage. I must say though that the therapist was great and I would have really enjoyed the massge with him if I were in a private and relaxing atmosphere.

If you are looking for a spa like experience, this is not a place for you. It was a mere storefront with a very drab and cramp interior to say the least. I was led thru the store and down a spiral staircase to the basement where a massage table awaited me at the bottom of the pitt/stairs, partially visible from above. The main room on the street level reminded me of a hospital; each massage room/table is divided by nothing more than a curtain, to which there is very little privacy. I also couldn't help noticing how grimy the drop ceilings were downstairs, when looking up while I was on the massage table. My real gripe was the unprofessionalism of the owner. My so called "therapist" was not the qualified professional one should only expect. I was assigned a kid who admitted to doing mainly administrative duties upstairs. His credentials consisted of giving his mother massages. I know it wasn't the kid's fault. He was nice enough and only did as he was told. But I could not help feeling duped and insulted. My friend who also made a Groupon purchase for the same location and went a week before me, had a much better experience. Her therapist was a "certified professional" and worked her from head to toe, not by some kid the owner plucked out from the front desk and ordered to "go rub the lady's back." My husband could have done as good a job. My friend said that she thought the therapist was more professional than the owner. I had seconds thoughts about their professionalism even before I stepped foot in the place. My friend and I made our initial appointments for the same day. The owner cancelled on us the first time. I was taken aback when he asked me to notify my friend that her appointment was also cancelled. Moi? do his job for him. I should have known right there and then.

Finally, a legit Physical Therapy practice that know what they're doing. It's not just…read morechiropractors disguising themselves as PTs. I had gone to 3 other physical therapy places before this. I'm not gonna say anything bad about them. They did help me, but I always had to keep going back, it was never ending. Caitlin and her team which include Danny and Sam, really know what they're doing. They examine you, work out an exercise and therapy routine and give you a time limit. I actually had great results with my lower back and left shoulder after two months. The atmosphere is laid back and I ended up having great conversations every time. I've taken away exercises that I continue to do everyday, which helps tremendously. It's been about 3 months and I feel great. I hope I don't have to go back, but If I do, I know where to go. Thank you , I'm very grateful.

After looking around in the area, I was discouraged by the poor reviews I read for many of the facilities, and bad experiences described to me by people I know. Then, a friend of mine referred me to Caitlin at SportsCare in East Rutherford. I feel so fortunate to have found this stellar practice. Caitlin and team were accommodating with my schedule, provided more than enough personal attention, kept me motivated throughout treatment, and maintained a positive, comfortable, and very clean environment. Despite how much recovery sucked, I did not dread the early morning sessions. I was always greeted with a smile and had pleasant conversations. Caitlin consistently suggested additional at-home exercises to help with recovery, and she and Danny were not shy in correcting my form to ensure maximum benefit. As far as SportsCare itself, they were not in-network with my insurance, but the co-pay they worked out with me was very fair and there have been no billing issues to date. I had my last session today after 3 months of treatment and I feel like I'm losing some friends... My elbow is as good as I can expect given the trauma and foreign objects under my skin. I feel confident that I am much better off for choosing SportsCare, and this location in particular. Thank you Caitlin, Danny, and Samantha for your professionalism, compassion, and for being genuinely great people. I hope that we cross paths in the future... but hopefully not because I broke myself again. :)
