They sold business to new people. They're nice but more expensive and not as gods quality for getting new soles and heels

Excellent customer service and great shoe repair. You must remember that they close at 5pm and are closed on weekends.

Brought them by and the gentleman took them, and was super efficient and to the point about what I needed. Gave me a ticket and said they'd call me in a week. They called me in a week, gave me the total and they're great. I was a little surprised that they didn't use black since the rest of the bottom and what was lost was black but not enough to care. Those soles will be black soon enough after trudging through these streets. $18.50 (cash only!) for two heel replacements (he did the other one so that I wouldn't be lopsided) and I'm back walking the streets (uhhhhh, you know what I mean.) Caveat: the place smells of cigarette smoke so if you're very sensitive or allergic you may want to send someone for you. I don't think they smoke inside (it's not smoky) but the gentleman smokes so maybe it's just him? I can't say if my boots smelled when I got them back because they're leather and have been through worse.

I said, "Just a few weeks ago it was $15!" to which she curtly replied, "Well, it isn't anymore." I would hate to see what other services costs if they charge this much for a shine that takes less than 10 minutes! My guess is they want the excuse of lack of business so they can retire. Well, I will do my part in contributing.

Silence can be powerful, but here, it was laced with disregard. I approached the man in the black apron, the one with the small gapped tooth and even smaller sense of professionalism, and asked a simple question: what could be done to clean my shoes? His answer--uncertain, uninterested, and lacking any skillful persuasion, was that he didn't know what would come out. No solutions, no confidence, no seduction of the sale. Just cold indifference. Then, without invitation, he launched into heel replacement prices for all four pairs. I never asked for heel replacements. I came for a shine. His response was not only tone-deaf, it was a clear attempt to shift the conversation into something I didn't ask for. Perhaps a poor strategy, or perhaps the result of someone who's lost their love for the craft. Either way, I didn't bite. When I questioned his approach, he snapped, "You don't have to leave your stuff here." I replied calmly, "I won't leave it here if you don't want me to." He waved me away like a nuisance and disappeared into the back. A man who holds no power, grasping at control in the weakest way possible. What truly sealed the impression was the woman at the front. She watched it unfold and did nothing. Inaction is a form of action. And her silence said everything I needed to know: my presence was unwelcome, and my business unwanted. Let this review be a quiet warning, not a loud complaint. Some places are simply not worthy of your time or money. Withdraw your presence. They will feel the loss more than your words. After the owner passed away, this place has gone terribly wrong. There are better places out there with affordable places where they would love you and your business.

Love KixxSoClean!…read more The only place I take my shoes to be repaired or cleaned. Micah, the owner has a sweet story behind why he ultimately started his business. Every time I've dropped off shoes I've been impressed w| the outcome afterwards! This business is conveniently located on Carondelet in the Warehouse District.

Okay, I'm back! I promise the service here/turn around time is much shorter than seven months, lol…read more In total I dropped off four pairs of sandals, three or four pairs of shoes, and three purses and I am very pleased with the results. Sneakers that I've had for years and have been put through the wringer (I'm talking tailgates, festivals, etc) came back looking brand new! I have once again been kicking rocks in them, so they're due for another round of TLC, but I truly didn't think that my "white" Converse would ever be white again, and let me tell you, they looked like they came right out of the box. I didn't get my purses cleaned, just some strap repair and those are holding on strong. I don' t feel like they integrity of my bags were compromised in any way and they feel secure. My sandals also came out great, but one pair does need the strap re-tightened already. Overall, I'm still very satisfied with the work. To say out of all of the items that needed repair, only one pair needs an adjustment I think is pretty good. I will say that I'm not sure how many opportunities he's had to do work on other items besides sneakers and tennis shoes, so if this is the quality that we get now, I can only imagine how it will improve with more experience. Definitely worth checking out if you'd like to get some more time with your loved on shoes and bags. Micah is very communicative about when your items will be ready and super accommodating in getting them back to you by offering a drop-off service. Many thanks to the Yelper that reminded me that I hadn't posted my update!
