Based on that information, I drove from Louisiana to Mississippi and spent about $150 on travel to get there. When I arrived, I was told they did not have anything in inventory within my price range and that I would need to put down $3,100 to get a vehicle. This was completely different from what had been communicated to me over several months and what was displayed on their website. If I had been given accurate information beforehand, I would not have made the trip. I'm sharing my experience so others make sure to confirm inventory and pricing very carefully before traveling. I "leased" s 2019 Tahoe from them. I wasn't informed it was a "lease" until after they had the $10k down payment. I was told it wasn't like deciding you didn't want to buy it, but that I could trade it after 18 months. I tried to do that and I was told I could not that I hade to make 6 more months or pay more down. I kept it . after making 28 payments I tried again to trade it and they wouldn't again even though the mileage was below what they expected they wouldn't return my call until I called to get the pay off amount. My vehicle is paid off... Holmes Motors do not communicate to their teams apparently because the vehicle has been disabled twice now (Via kill switch). This inconvenience is infuriating to say the least. There is no support after hours to deal with issues. When then turn the vehicle back on I get a candid "so sorry for the inconvenience) So this Saturday our vehicle was disabled yet again and we have to wait until they open after the holiday on Tuesday.. 3 days without a vehicle is unforgivable. BEWARE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! I went on approximately November 18th, 2019 I purchased a Ford Expedition from Holmes Motors out of Birmingham, AL location. I drove the next day all the way to there Mississippi location to pick it up. Approximately three days later the engine lights came on and wouldn't go no where. They had there repo team come get it and very nicely put me in a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica van around November 27th, 2019. I picked this up from there Montgomery, AL location. November 30th, 2019 I get an engine light on and error code P0305 (Cylinder Misfire on 5) Spark plug as well. The spark plug cost $15.00 and the Coil cost $73.00 with tax it was $86.79 and $150.00 for installation. Low and behold after 100 miles of driving the engine light comes back on and basically needs a new engine. Holmes Motors comes and tows it I get a call two days later saying it needs a new starter but they cant locate one. I drove a total of six hours and paid $270.00 for a new starter. Holmes Motors takes the van back puts in a new engine. I get the van back and stuff is looser than hell. There are bare wires showing I call them and let them know this immediately. I am told bring it down and it will have to be here two or three days. I haven't had the time due to working non-stop and finding a good time to be without a vehicle for my kids. I am bringing this van down tonight and I DONT want it back until it is SAFE for my kids. If we cant get it that way I need a SUV (I will pay the down payment difference) or my money back. I have spent a total of $506.79 not including gas running all over the place and only been refunded $223.00. I am beyond pissed with this company and I have got NO WHERE. I have talked to so many people trying to get the rest of my money back I was promised it is not even funny only to get no where. As shown in the video below the engine shakes back and forth without it even running. Going from drive to reverse to neutral the whole van rocks back and forth. The coolant line either during changing out the engine or with the motor rocking back and forth has caused it to be bent in half in two spots. I just need a safe and reliable vehicle for my kids and family. If this cant happen like I say I gave two other options, If we cant come to an agreement and resolve all these issues I will be taking this to my attorney. I have given ample time and patients with all these issues. I expect the van to be thoroughly checked over I will not be bringing it back any issues within 30 days after getting it back Holmes Motors will need to come get it. Exactly one month ago I got it back from Holmes Motors. They tightened the motor mount. I now had the engine light come on over the Fourth of July leaving me stranded again. The van is shaking again and engine light is flashing giving me error code P0305 (Cylinder Misfire on 5) Spark plug as well AGAIN. I brought it down to be fix 7/7/2020 they call me 7/8/2020saying it's ready. I go back to get it get 50 miles away from dealership SAME thing happened. I go in this morning 7/09/2020 they tell me after sitting forever waiting this code reading machine is broke. They don't know what's wrong with it but it my responsibility to fix out of my pocket. This is bullshit. They had this issue three days after I bought it rebuilt the parts and now it fails again and it's MY responsibility??? Almost $10,000 later and was in the shop more than I had it. I purchased a car from Holmes Motors last year in 2021 in October. I liked the car I put a down payment on and took it for a test drive and everything,a few weeks after I purchase the car I started having problems with it. So I called the dealership and let them know what kind of problems I was having on the vehicle. So when I finally took it to them,they held it for about two weeks trying to fix the problems on it. At least I thought it was fixed but it wasnt. So when I picked it up it was giving me more problems after that. The speakers stop working and the headlight sensor was coming on. I was paying them constantly on time and it seems like they was getting over on me and getting my car fixed!! Do Not I Repeat!! Two time buyer will not be a third. even with a perfect payment record when something as simple as the FOB key entry stopped working correctly. They were rude and dismissive over the phone and refused to swap it out with the good one they kept when buying. I'm positive the lady on the phone enjoyed her unprofessional attitude but wonder if the owner or manger realize it cost them $25,000 give or take on a 15 or 16 truck which was going to be are third purchase after final payment of our second. great job Holms the other dealers will appreciate it. read more

They seem like amazing people, this place seems like it's too good to be true. I was warned by so many dealers in the area that they sabotage cars and don't report to the credit bureau. I didn't listen. I wish I had because their two year warranty is not valid after you drive 18,000 miles in the car. Would have been nice to know! They sabotaged our cars radiator I know for a fact because there were drill holes and plastic shavings under the tank. Then once we found out it was leaking, conveniently our warranty was no longer valid. When we first got the car the catalytic converter was no good and they danced around trying to fix it. Gave it back three times before they actually fixed it and every time charged us $200 to look at their mistakes. They also told us when we bought the car that if it had to be in the shop they provide loaner cars, guess that was a lie too. We had to spend over $500 on a loaner car on top of gas to drive back and forth from New Orleans every time they claimed the car was fixed. We live in Louisiana and told us that it was not allowed to be registered in Louisiana they told us that they didn't know why but that Louisiana had some law saying that they couldn't have their cars registered in it well turns out that law was actually a no repo law Louisiana as a no repo state and Holmes motors knew that they just don't want us to register the car in Louisiana. Also when they do illegally repossess your car they do not tell you that they are coming to get it they will not give you a warning they will not let you clear out your car. I am disabled and all my medication and my service dogs gear was in that car. Once the car finally broke down and died we were visiting Oklahoma to see a specialist for my pregnancy our entire lives were in my car and they just took it in the middle of the night back to Mississippi and told us that we had four days to come pick everything up or it will be thrown away. Being that we were already strapped for cash in a different state dealing with a medical issue we could not go and clean out the car. Lost thousands of dollars in items that were in that car, did they care no. Also they will call you want to fly and tell you that your account is past due when you have just paid a week before they are so on organized it's not even funny one time they told us we were a month late when in fact we had our credit card statement showing that we had paid two payments, but of course they had no record of that. So my car was just repossessed due to a misunderstanding about a month ago or so. We were behind on the payment they repossess the car at that time my husband's father went up there because we were both at work and paid the note and the repossession fee. Two weeks later we called to make the payment they charge his father's credit card instead of mine which is on file to use to make the payment and has been for three years. The car was to be paid off this September I had paid $15,000 on this 2013 Chrysler 200..Anyways his dad canceled the payment because they illegally took the payment and it is against the law to take payments without authorization. So we then owed another weeks worth of payment in which we told them would be this very week they would be getting a double payment. Nope they couldn't wait they came and got our car we went up there after my husband raised hell on the phone they hung up on him because they're immature and don't know how to be professional and de-escalate situations what do you expect and how do you expect people to react when you take their vehicle that you pay double on already. The guy in the office said the CEO wanted to charge us the rest of the money we owed on the car in order to get it back which is supposedly $7000 saying that it is in the contract bullshit. My husband asked about the credit card situation with his dad the guy said that his dad signed and authorization form to use the credit card yes his father did but only for that one payment and the repossession fee they illegally put his dad's card on file this is illegal they ran his card that is illegal they did not have authorization to use his credit card after that date and they claim they did. My husband's dad is Very intelligent and has a lot of money and would not sign a document that states his car is going to be put on file hence why his father was so pissed off and now is looking to sue the company. So today I called to try to figure a better solution out and apologize on my husband's behalf for being hostile this guy Patrick stated he was in the office with the lawyer which I could tell she was not by how she articulated herself they were rude and unprofessional. Patrick said that they were sticking to their guns to make us pay the seven grand to get a car back when the car is not even worth that. I purchased my truck almost 4 years ago. It will be paid off in September of 2018 orrrrrrr. so i thought only to be told there is a $3000.00 balloon note. Never knew this. Wasn't told to me when we were signing the paperwork.. But what can you do if you don't pay it they will come and snatch your truck in the middle of the night. They literally did this to me while i was at work one month. And my payment was made and insurance was up to date. I had just renewed my Insurance Plan thru State Farm and The agent faxed over the certificate. Someone at Holmes Motors did not enter said information into their computer so my truck was put on the repo sheet. Well in the middle of work someone jumped in my truck and sped off like a thief. Needless to say after several phone calls i finally found out they took my truck. So i call Holmes Motors and State Farm and to make a long story short the Insurance Certificate was on the ladies desk that was SUPPOSED to enter it into the computer. But i had to miss a day's work and go get my truck just because someone did not do their job right. And they even tried to charge me the Repo fee of $500.00 for their mistake. I will be glad when this truck is paid off i would not do business with Holmes Motors again. Thanks to my ex i am stuck because if you trade it in with their so called Integrity Program they only give you up to $2500.00 towards your next down payment What a rip off when you pay a lot more for the vehicle. Holmes Motors is a place where people with no credit can get a car in order to provide for themselves. But there is some things to be questioned and researched before doing so. My sister bought a car from them three months ago which they charged $3000 over KBB retail not including term loan interest or $1000 down-payment. Recently a power steering hp hose started leaking onto the exhaust manifold. I did some research on her model year car and found that honda had a recall in 2011 on the hp hose leak that was causing honda vehicles to catch fire. I called HM to find out if they had replaced the hose. The salesman did not have any knowledge of recalls. I could not get an answer on whether they had replaced it. They said it was sold "as is" and I should call honda. I called a honda dealer and they replaced it for free due to safety recall guidelines. Now, what does not make sense about holmes motors is if they are not fixing life threatening safety recalls that are free to get fixed, it would lead me to question if they look to fix any issues their vehicles may have before selling them. Used dealers are not required by law to have recalls fixed before they sell, but it is ethical and good business to do so. They did replace her battery, but the next morning she informed me the car would not start. I found the battery clamps and holding bracket were loose. The battery terminals and clamps had not been wire brushed nor was there any silicone protectant applied. There are dealers out there who do a full inspection and fix any issues before selling a vehicle, just have to do research on the Internet. read more
