I am in the market for a pre-owned Lexus LS500 and this dealership had a 2020 model listed that was fairly priced. On Tuesday March 4th I made an offer of full asking price via their internet portal and received a prompt reply the next morning asking when I could come in. I let them know I'd like to see a buyers order with all fees including a trade value on my 2020 Lexus RC 350 that I only owe 15k on. The trade value would be around 29 to 30k and I wanted to see how much I'd save in taxes if it traded instead of sold it myself. It took several more emails before they would give me a buyers order but they did not include my trade. I asked again that they show my trade , contingent on their final inspection, so that I would know if I wanted to make the 90 minute trip from where I'm currently vacationing in Pensacola. I let the internet sales person know that if we could get close enough on numbers that I'd come to the dealership the next day and finalize the paperwork. They didn't answer for several hours then finally asked for pictures of my trade. I sent them and didn't hear anything back for the next 18 hours. I then attempted to call the dealership and speak with the pre-owned manager but he was on another line. I let the person who answered know the situation and she assured me she was putting a note in front of him and that he would definitely be in touch soon. I then received another email from someone else at the dealership who clearly had no clue I'd been speaking with someone else. I forwarded our 18 reply email thread and asked them for help getting the numbers. They promptly ignored me the rest of the day and I never got a call from the pre-owned manager. In the mean time I called to speak to the general manager because I couldn't believe that someone with an 800 credit score and a trade with 15k equity couldn't get anyone to sell me a car they'd had on their lot for several weeks. I got transferred to the Dodge store where he was supposed to be and got his voice-mail. I left a message that has went unanswered for over 24 hours. Today I've had 2 more people email me from the dealership who had no clue what was going on. Of the 4 people I've corresponded with not one appears to actually read my responses and none have a clue what I've already communicated to the others. At this point there is no way I'd ever consider purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. If they are this incompetent before the sale I can only imagine how little attention to detail they'd give after the purchase. Their reviews are some of the highest I've ever seen in the industry. Judging from what I've experienced I'd say most are probably fabricated and solicited from family and employees. Buyer beware has never been more appropriate. read more

Terrible experience with Mandal Buick GMC Finance Manager. Found a new GMC to lease for my wife. Salesman was good. Sat with the finance manager to do the deal. I am a returning current GM Financial lease customer. Asked for the current lease deal advertised by GM Financial on a new FWD Terrain Elevation. Mandal Finance Manager quoted much different numbers than advertised. I attempted to show him the numbers were not as advertised but he had no interest in trying to find the lease deal GM Financial advertised. Had to wait 4 hours to see the Finance Manager. I was needing maintenance and service to check the check engine light on my truck. So I called and they told me to drop off my truck with them. I dropped it off Monday morning, they told me they would not be able to look into it until Tuesday. So I waited until Wednesday and tried to call them for an update. I called three times and was sent to someone in the service department, each time I was hung up on. Thinking they were just busy, I went by the dealership and asked on the update, I was told that they did the maintenance on my truck but have not looked into the issue with the check engine light. I was told that it was being looked at on Thursday. So on Friday I went, as soon as they opened, to pick up my truck. At this point it has been a whole week without my truck. I was told that it still has not been looked at, so I told them to give me back the keys and I would be taking it somewhere else. After I was handed the keys, I was informed that the maintenance has not been done and that my truck is leaking coolant. So I was lied to about any work being done to the truck and informed, without any work being done to it, that it is now leaking coolant. Needless to say I will never be back, or will I recommend this place to anyone. Complete waste of my time! read more

In July 2022 I brought my 2016 GMC 2500 diesel Sierra Denali to Mandal for new brakes and tires. Paid $4,665.19 and the truck squeaked every time you stopped and the right front tire required air every week. We brought it back 4 times and dealt with the same person- Jason. Nothing was ever fixed, he would give some bullshit excuse about nails in the tires (there was NO nails) and even said there was a couple missing parts? What parts?? You put the brakes and tires on... what did you leave off? He would dodge the question and never answer you. Also, he would never have an invoice . showing any work was done.... (Likely because no work was ever done). We had an unrelated issue with the DEF exhaust and brought it to Ray Brandt Chevrolet, they fixed the DEF issue AND the tire that turned out to be a leaking valve stem! 4 times and you couldn't figure that out? Also, some idiot put a plastic lug nut on the tire...plastic on a 2500 and they knew we pull a 40ft camper! This place is an accident waiting to happen zero regard for human life. 10 out of 10 do NOT recommend! I'd buy a FORD if this was the last Chevy/GMC dealership around! Idiots! read more

The detail shop broke and hid a piece on my back glass of my 2019 GMC Canyon. The back glass needs to be replaced, and when I notified Jason in the service department, he kept telling me over the time of nothing happening that he would see what he could do. After the last oil change had been guaranteed and finished, not only did he tell me that he was not paying for it, he also told me he was not going to lose sleep over it. When a dealership brakes a piece off of the back glass and hides it underneath the backseat, you would most likely think that it would be brought back to original condition, instead of continously putting off to fix what the detail shop broke off and hid the part. Also the tint needs replaced after the back glass would have been done. Don't even consider going to Mandal for a deal because of how they treat you. read more

Terrible service!! I had a car warranty for that dealership as I had purchased the car there. It was about to run out. My car will not fill up at the gas pump as I said when I scheduled at repair. I stated what needed to be done as I have a factory turbo convertible. Check engine light was on. Evap canister Is the main problem with these cars. Told the again after call after 4 days. They had my car for two weeks. Still not fixed. Said that part was on back order. Ok took the car back home. Dealer called saying they had the part to fix it. Brought the car back in before my warrant was to expire After a week they called said it was fixed. Came in and. Paid for new plugs and belt that I approved. Went to get gas and could still not gas up. No wy to do business. Still no help! DO Not do business here. oh two months ago they tried to do my oil change was no better. Got an oil change. Took 3 hours. Rep told me about other things I should repair. No just change oil. Well that's all he did. Did not reset the dash light. Interior smell was gross when I left. read more

No respect for social distancing was given had to keep backing away from the unmasked employees. I received a follow-up e-mail from Customer Relations to see if we had been satisfied. I e-mail her back telling her our concerns; that was last week, no response so much for "Customer Relations." We are still in this pandemic. We understand the governor removed the mask mandate for our state. We believe in following the science and not the politics of wearing a mask. My truck is still shaking humming and roaring! They told me that I'm overloading with a tool box that weighs 600 to 700 lbs at most! We have purchased two vehicles from Mandal over the past few years. The sales experience was always great, but I truly believe the most important relationship you potentially will have with a dealership after the initial purchase, is with the Service Department. I cannot put into words how truly amazing the Service Department at Mandal is. Two years ago I had a claim with my Tahoe that was handle flawlessly by Susie...I literally did nothing throughout the entire process. She handled it all. The reason I post this review today though, is because our recent experience with a claim regarding my husband's truck. Due to my husband's vehicle being a Ford, the initial process began with a local Ford dealer...we are now 3 weeks into the biggest headache we have EVER experienced with a vehicle. My husband was on the phone multiple times a day with this other dealership...only to get a runaround and no resolve. My husband, fed up, reached out to Mandal for help. Without hesitation, Susie took over (not required to do so) and took on the task of being our voice between this other dealership and the warranty department. She resolved a 3 week headache in TWO DAYS and ultimately saved us money. This is two times that Mandal has come through and gone above and beyond for us. I can honestly say that any and all future vehicle purchases that my family makes will remain through Mandal. I will continue to speak their praises whenever the opportunity arises. I've taken in my Volkswagen Jetta TDI a few times, and at best, they are mediocre. I'm in the Air Force so I'm forced to be here and at the mercy of the local talent. I've been stationed all over the world and seen a lot of dealers and maintenance facilities; Mandal is the worst. One, they either don't know TDIs or they are not to be trusted. They missed simple diagnoses, even with me pretty much telling them what was wrong and what fixed it in the past on another TDI I've owned. Takes more than once to fix painfully easy things. I'm actually capable of doing most maintenance on my car, I just don't have the time and have to rely on "professionals". Speaking of professional, Mandal is far from professional any any regard. Service personnel make excuses as to why they cannot provide simple paperwork after more than a week, much less the more difficult tasks. They have left me on hold multiple times until their system--or someone--hangs up when trying to get answers. Sometimes they come off as flat-out rude. I've been more than calm and professional when dealing with them, so a little of the same would be nice. Don't even bother with these guys--maintenance or buying a vehicle! I'd rather go to Mobile at this point. read more

Went three times with the same two issues. Everytime they said, "we can't find a problem". They gave me some bs about how humidity or 'frequencies' on base were causing my key fob and tpmsystem not to work. Took my car to an out of state dealership and in less than 40 minutes got a call that both problems were caused by the same malfunctioning part, it was under warranty, they ordered it and could install it in an hour soon as it came in. The work was done and now the car works as it should. Imagine that. Competent people who researched and did there job fixed the issue! My wife made an appointment to test drive a used vehicle. Upon arrival, she was told that it had "just sold" but could look at their newer models. She test drove one of the vehicles, and decided to see how much the dealership would be willing to work with us on the price. After waiting about an hour for the dealership to run the numbers, she was presented with an offer that had a significant price drop on the new vehicle. Only one problem. The vehicle listed on the offer was the used one she'd been told was sold. Not to mention, the offer was full asking price for the used vehicle. When she asked the associate why the vehicle on the offer was one that was supposedly sold, she got a blank stare in return. This made my wife feel like they were trying to pull the wool over her eyes and sell her a used vehicle that she hadn't even seen. That made us decide to take our business elsewhere. read more

Not rude but not polite either, almost as if they didn't care I was there or not. This is one of the reasons I did not buy my vehicle at this dealership, that and the inability to make a good deal. Went in for a normal service in which is included in my warranty and they told me all of a sudden my battery died and they couldn't get the car to start. They told me that they jumped it for now and that they can replace the battery for $200. I told them I'll just take it to Walmart and get it done and the sales lady attitude went from being kind to being rude. I asked her to see what kind of battery my car required and she came back with something that doesn't even exist. I knew at that point that they were trying to rip me off so i can buy a new battery from them. I told them no, I'll take my car as is but i asked if they battery is dead, if they can at least charge it. They made it very clear that they for one can not charge the battery because it is so dead that it won't hold a charge , but when i get my car back, do not turn it off. As soon as I got my car, i turned it off and turned it back on and boom it started, no hesitation. I took it to Walmart to get the battery tested and they said it was fine. I used these guys for years and they have always been reasonable until the last time I went there. They charged me $1170.00 for an alternator and 2 belts on a 12 year old vehicle. There are two bolts and three wires. Almost 700 for alternator and belts. Napa was $185 dollars for a new alternator, so they made about 400 more than Napa. The whole bill should have been around 300 dollars. they acted like they were doing me a favor for getting screwed. I will never go back the these thieves. Better find a good local mechanic and let him change parts. read more

My experience at this dealership was completely subpar. I went in on 1/2/21 to test drive a New Encore GX. Randy was my sales consultant, and he was phenomenal and taught me everything thing I needed to know about the vehicle and made the drive more enjoyable by being sociable and building a rapport. I told him that I had just started my look and was not ready to buy just yet, and he completely understood, and did not even try to pressure me into sitting down at his desk and filling out any paperwork. As someone that has worked at 2 dealership, I appreciated this and decided to take his card and told him I would come see him when I was ready to move forward with this process. Here is where everything went down hill fast. I returned on 1/11/21 because I wanted to drive another version of the same vehicle and get my car appraised to see where I stood on the final price. Since Randy was busy with another customer, he asked if I okay with dealing with another consultant, and I said sure. I was introduced to Vicky, which was a BIG mistake. I noticed from the start that she was completely opposite of Randy. I told her what I was there to accomplish and that I wasn't ready to purchase yet. She began to ask me questions of what I was looking for even though I had just told her exactly what I wanted. Then she asked me what I trading in, which was a 2017 Fusion Energi, and I explained that it was too low and did not have any cargo area. She proceeded to write down that my trade was a 17 Escape, so this was the second time she hadn't listened to me, and then compared the GX to the Escape even though no one had even mentioned the Escape whatsoever. She sat me down in the lobby and continued to ask me questions about what I wanted to accomplish and started to pressure me to do something that day. After I explained who I was financed through, she began to talk down to me and treated me like I was some dumb teenager with no credit and dumbed everything down on how every process works. Like I said, I worked at 2 dealerships and I have already purchased 3 cars, so i know exactly how the process works. It started to piss me off. I asked her to get my car appraised and I again told her which car it was, and she acted surprised that I told her it was the Fusion and not the Escape. She went out and got some information off of the car, and came back to ask me more questions about the history of the vehicle. I kept explaining that I just wanted a Price Sheet with rough numbers to see where I stood, and replied with "I just don't wanna do anything that will make your 'situation' worse". I was confused about what my "situation" was because there was none. After about 10 questions, I noticed that she was putting everything into KBB's Instant Cash Offer system. I got even more mad because I didn't come into a dealership to do something that I could have done at home. What made it worse was that she didn't have the ability to tell me a number when most dealerships do. The capper to this was when she submitted the inquiry, immediately I had 5 dealerships calling me to get an offer on my car. I did not appreciate this as I did not want random dealerships calling me and blowing up my phone. I asked her 1 last time if a manager could appraise my car, and she said it would be pointless because the number would change in 2 weeks when I would be ready to buy. I was finished with the conversation at this point and collected my things and left the dealership. At the end, an hour and a half of my time was wasted and I was not able to drive the vehicle. I went in with the intent of potentially buying a vehicle to never wanting to step foot in their dealership again. Because I didn't get to see where I stood with this specific vehicle, I took myself and the preapproval that I had to another dealership/brand where they gave me a great deal on a brand new vehicle. read more

I had an appt at noon for an oil change, fix front end vibration (on going since we bought the car in 2017) and fix entertainment display (blacks out, also ongoing issue). I got here at 11:50am and it is now 4:22pm still not finished and not one person from service has given me any updates. The only person to talk to me has been a salesman. I really dislike their service dept. I always have to wait hrs to get anything done. If you go into get any minor thing repaired and it is not under warranty, expect them to rip you off. This is the third time I have gone to the service department with my truck. The first time I dropped it off at 7 in the morning at there old location because my ac plug was not working and it was under warranty then. I never received a call to inform me it was ready so I went down there at 5 and they said my truck was done. When I went to check the plug it did not work. I went back and asked what the deal was and they did. It even look at it. All they did was recall work and the truck was finished in an hour. So it basically sat up there all day for no reason. The second time I went up there I wanted to inquire about peeling paint on the lower textured part of the bed. I was spray washing it and the paint flaked off, I told them and they took my truck and said it was from rock chips(guess the textured paint didn't work). This last time I went in to get passenger door actuator replaced(it went out at 60k miles and is a 2016, this is a different conversation for a different time) and when I pulled in I proceeded to tell the service assistant that the door lock actuator was bad and asked if they had the part in stock.They said they would take a look at it and proceeded to shove paperwork in my face to sign. They took the truck back and after an hour and a half they took back in the shop to try to get me to replace my ac condenser($1200) and my ball joints($800) which neither was that bad. I asked them if they had the part for my truck, which was the whole reason I was there and they had not even checked yet. I waited another hour and a half and then they finally told me it would be $502 dollars to replace. I asked how much the part was and they said $150, so asked why so much labor ($350) and I was told there was an hour of diagnostic fee and 2 plus hours for install. I have changed many of these door actuators and it usually takes me about an hour and I'm not a skilled technician. I understand them charging an hour and a half or so, but 3.5 hours is a little excessive, especially at $100 an hour. I would never take a vehicle here with out a warranty and if you do expect to be taken advantage of. read more
